Abstract: A counter for a shoe having an upper, a lining configured to be connected with the upper along a top edge of the shoe, a cushioning heel pillow arranged in a position opposite the heel of a wearer's foot, and an insole forming a foot bed of the shoe. The counter includes a member having an upper edge having a cut-out region forming a valley, a lower edge forming an anchor region, and first and second side wings. The counter is configured to be positioned between the lining and the upper at a heel portion of the shoe such that, in an assembled shoe, the first and second side wings wrap around the heel of the shoe and the valley accommodates an extension of the heel pillow therethrough.

Abstract: A footwear accessory can include an inner strap having a first attachment mechanism and a second attachment mechanism. The inner strap can be sized and configured to wrap around a perimeter of a person's lower leg. In some embodiments, the inner strap is releasably coupled to the lower leg via the first attachment mechanism. The footwear accessory can include an outer strap configured to couple to the second attachment mechanism. In some embodiments, when the outer strap is coupled to the second attachment mechanism, the outer strap covers a majority of the inner strap.

Abstract: A tieless shoelace that consists of two strings for one shoe with attachable ends and limited loose string that can be used on any shoe that has standard shoe eyelets. The attachable ends are to be inserted into the first upper row of a typical shoe. The attachable ends cannot be extended out any further than 3.5 to 4.5 inches due to a sewn stitch to reduce the risk of tripping over loose shoe strings. Once the first row is inserted with the attachable ends, the remaining shoe eyelets, starting from the second row and moving from top to bottom until the end is reached, would be inserted with the lower part of the shoe string. When the desired tightness is met, a knot is made from the two lower ends of the shoe string and the installation is complete. Any excessive string at the bottom of the lace would be cut-off to eliminate the risk of tripping on it. When the upper, two attachable ends are pressed together, the two pieces are temporarily connected to one another.

The tensioning device may be utilized with a plurality of cables. The tensioning device is removably attached to the upper by a clasp element to facilitate entry of a foot into the article of footwear, or exit of a foot from the article of footwear. The tensioning device can allow the lengths of the cables to readily change in order to accommodate different foot shapes.

Abstract: A interchangeable button system that comprises an interchangeable cap, a base button and a pronged fastener allowing the user to change the appearance and functionality of buttons, quickly and conveniently without sewing. The pronged fastener penetrates fabric exposing the prong tips for alignment with the base buttonholes located on the base button. Compression on the base button couples the pronged fastener with the base buttonholes creating a secure permanent attachment. The base button has an external base thread that aligns with internal cap thread for coupling. Thus the interchangeable cap can be torqued on or off. Different functional decorative and technological types of interchangeable caps may be selectively torqued onto base button for end use.

Abstract: The disclosed device enhances the aesthetic appearance of a belt when worn by a person with a pelvic tilt. The device works by changing the angle of the belt buckle to ensure proper orientation of the belt buckle. The device ensures proper orientation by securing a wedge to a belt in a position behind the buckle. The wedge pushes the bottom of the belt buckle out, counteracting downturn of the buckle caused by pelvic tilt.

Abstract: A safety belt buckle includes a base, a latch, two positioning members, and two elastic members. The base is formed by two symmetrically combined cases, wherein each case includes a first metal core partially clad in a first insulating layer. The latch includes a second metal core, a second insulating layer, and a tongue adapted to insert into a chamber of the base. The two positioning members are pivotally provided on the base and partially located in the chamber. When each positioning member is moved to the first position, a stopper thereof confines the tongue in a locking position to prevent the latch from being separated from the base; when each positioning member is moved to the second position, the stopper thereof is away from the tongue, allowing the latch to be disengaged from the base. The two elastic members push the positioning members toward the first position.

Abstract: An assembly and method for the operation and use of a cane assembly is presented. The assembly includes a handle portion configured to selectively adjust in length. A leg assembly is located at the bottom of the cane body and is configured to selectively operate between an open and a closed position, such that when opened, the footprint of the leg assembly increases to provide added stabilization to the cane body. A deployment mechanism is configured to selectively operate a leg assembly.

Abstract: A mister-equipped umbrella to shield a user from precipitation, to provide protection from harmful UV rays, and to allow the user to activate a mister having a variable mist head to cool the user on a hot, sunny day. The mister-equipped umbrella generally combines an umbrella assembly and a mister assembly. The umbrella assembly includes a tube, a runner, a plurality of stretchers, a plurality of ribs each terminating in a top, a cover comprising at least one UV coating, and a handle that has an inner volume for storing batteries and an outer surface that may be insulated for gripping. The mister assembly includes a fluid reservoir, a pump, and a variable mister head. In use, the user may manually adjust the variable mister head to configure a misting pattern and frequency of the mister.

Each anti-inversion strut is pivotally coupled to one respective main strut and is pivotally connected to a floating joint member that is freely movable along a length of one respective rib. The anti-inversion mechanism also includes a stop that is fixedly attached to the rib and restricts the degree of travel of the floating joint member along the rib and is positioned to prevent the respective rib from inverting in response to an applied force.

The expansion and locking device is configured to allow free movement of the expansion body in a compression direction towards the luggage main body and configured to allow locking movement of the expansion body in an expanding direction away from the luggage main body. One expansion and locking device is preferably attached to two or more walls of the luggage. After finishing packing, the luggage is closed and the user pushes the expanding member towards the base member, ratcheting the pawl past the ratchet teeth to collapse the luggage.

Abstract: The invention described is for a case for a portable, hand held electronic device, such as a cellphone or smartphone. This case includes a notch, formed when a hinged arm is extended, that allows the user to more easily hold the electronic device while attached to the cover. The notch provides space for the user's hand so that the electronic device rests between the user's thumb and fingers in a natural position with the fingers the device, which is cradled in the hand. A hinged flap closes the notch in a closed position but is hinged to expose the notch when a user supports the hand held electronic device. A main flap panel and a tab extending from opposite sides of a flap hinge to stabilize the hand held electronic device in the user's hand.

The standing desk of the present invention utilizes a scissor lift mechanism to raise and lower the desktop surface. The standing desk is presented in two embodiments, one of which uses a motor drive assembly to raise and lower the desktop and one of which uses is manually raised and lowered and features a biasing spring and height locking arrangement. Slide out and clip on keyboard assemblies are also presented.

A bottom panel, side panels, and divider panels may be configured in any combination to form a compartmented assembly with a primary compartment comprising at least two sub-compartments. A method of designing and constructing compartmented assemblies is described. A graphical user interface may be used to format a design which may be transmitted to associated machinery for automated cutting of the component panels. Series of notches, tabs, and apertures are used for mating adjacent panels to one another. Adhesive may be inserted into joints for securing the panels.
