  • Patent number: 4273034
Abstract: The invention pertains to a bale forming apparatus for making rectangular bales in any size, but especially suitable to make large size bales. The unique mechanism consists of; a bale forming channel, and a feeder-compactor assembly. The feeder-compactor assembly is power driven to perform a reversing motion relative to the bale forming channel, depositing, and compressing the successive layers of the bale in continuous folded-like arrangement. The apparatus requires substantially less energy than the conventional balers of the same size.

  • Patent number: 4270446
Abstract: This invention pertains to a bale forming apparatus for making rectangular bales from fibrous materials, such as, agricultural crops and industrial products. The principle mechanism consists of; a bale forming chamber and a feeder-compactor mechanism which perform a reversing oscillating motion relative to each other, depositing, and compressing layers of fibrous material in the bale forming chamber. The successive layers are arranged in a folded manner, in a continuous process, resulting in low power consumption and in high output capacity for the apparatus. This apparatus is especially suited to make large size rectangular bales.

  • Patent number: 4182236
Abstract: A vertical baler has a generally rectangular compacting chamber defined by vertical wall members extending from a base, and the chamber is closed by pivotal front doors and a vertically retractable safety gate. A vertically movable horizontal platen is suspended within the chamber by a hydraulic cylinder, and batches of scrap material compacted within the chamber are held down by dog members some of which are pivotally supported. A set of flexible bale ejecting members are coupled to the pivotal dog members and bias the dog members inwardly into the chamber when compacting material, and the ejecting members are then coupled to the platen to provide for ejecting a tied bale in response to upward retraction of the platen.

  • Patent number: 4177723
Abstract: A compactor device for large round bales is disclosed comprising a horizontally disposed cylindrical housing containing a plunger, a double toggle mechanism connected to the plunger, a hydraulic cylinder connected to the double toggle mechanism for driving the plunger, and a stabilizer linkage connected to the plunger and the double toggle mechanism for maintaining the plunger in a vertical position during compaction of a bale.

  • Patent number: 4175487
Abstract: This bale forming apparatus applies continuous feeding and laying of precompressed sheet of fibrous material, such as agricultural crops and industrial products, in a bale forming channel where the body of the bale is built up by the deposition and compression of folded layers of the precompressed material. The entire bale forming process is accomplished by a simple roller mechanism which requires lower power input than conventional plunger type balers. This principle is especially suitable to form relatively large size rectangular bales.

  • Patent number: 4119023
Abstract: A threader device designed to simplify the threading of strapping tapes around and under a load to be strapped to a pallet or other load supporting device having a pair of apertures extending substantially horizontally through its base, with the threader device involving a framework having a pair of substantially parallel, elongate threader bars extending outwardly from its base for a distance sufficient to pass through the load supporting device. The threader bars are disposed slightly above ground level and spaced apart a distance consistent with the spacing of the apertures of the load supporting device. Tape dispensing means are carried on the framework, and arranged to dispense a pair of strapping tapes. The threader bars each have tape securing means on their outer ends, such that the ends of a pair of strapping tapes from the tape dispensing means can be removably secured to respective ones of the tape securing means.

  • Patent number: 3973790
Abstract: A cardan frame for suspending compressed air operable tightening and closing devices for strapping packages, boxes, coils, and the like. The cardan frame is formed by two tubular arc-shaped conduit sections for conveying compressed air therethrough. The interior of the two conduit sections is interconnected by a first swivel joint while one end of one of the two conduit sections has connected thereto an eye for suspending the cardan frame. The other end of the other conduit section has connected thereto a second swivel section to which is suspended the respective desired strapping device.
