Abstract: A pet waste collection system comprising a frame, a mounting bracket, a spool, and a sensor. The frame defines a floor with a first end and a second end. The floor may be configured to receive waste from a pet. The mounting bracket may be located on the first end of the floor and configured to receive a wrapper cartridge. The spool may be located on the second end of the floor and configured to allow a film to be drawn from the wrapper cartridge across the floor and to roll the film around the spool. The sensor is configured to detect the presence of pet waste at the film proximate the floor.

Abstract: A pet waste management device includes a housing having upper and lower ends. The device includes a receiving bowl positioned in the housing, the bowl having an open upper end and a lower end having an outlet. A cover is situated upwardly adjacent the bowl upper end. A water outlet is positioned adjacent the bowl upper end to introduce water into the bowl. A supply line provides water to the water outlet. The device includes a first foot pedal configured to selectively allow water from the supply line to enter the bowl through the water outlet. A drain line is operatively coupled to the bowl lower end to drain contents of the bowl. The device includes a heating unit to prevent water from freezing, the heating unit including a resistive heating element and a thermostat and is in electrical communication with a power source.

Abstract: A system for lining a container or the like containing an absorbent, utilizing the liner to contain and direct a treatment fluid into the absorbent to disinfect and renew. A complimentary system to the present invention teaches a deodorization, disinfectant, treatment bin for treating litter infused with animal waste, which treatment bin includes a treatment area utilizing ozone to contain and treat the contaminated litter, rendering same re-useable. The system of the present invention further contemplates an ozone generator having a timer circuit for providing a flow of ozone to the apparatus of the present invention, the ozone generator further contemplating as exemplary features a timer apparatus for providing optimal treatment, as well as a proximity sensor system for sensing the presence of an animal in the litter area, for controlling the ozone generator.

The invention is characterized in that it comprises: a pear-shaped bowl or a circular bowl having a lid which is equipped with a pear-shaped hole; prints corresponding to the hind paws of the animal, which are provided on each side of the narrow area of the pear-shaped bowl or hole; a cistern which is positioned opposite the narrow area and the position of the prints; and a lever or device consisting of one piece comprising two parts, namely (i) a first straight or curved part which connects with the cistern, which has a dimension and inclination such that it extends beyond the lateral edge of the cistern and which extends into a (ii) second horizontal part which enables the animal to press its paw on, and actuate the lever in order to release water stored in the cistern.

Abstract: An method and apparatus for receiving and mixing a portion of animal waste material and sand includes a receptacle capable of allowing an animal to enter therein and receiving a portion of animal waste material; and a vibrating motor communicating with the receptacle for causing the animal waste material to move in a predetermined path. A removable trap for receiving and retaining at least a portion of the animal waste material may be located in the predetermined path. A catcher may be applied to communicate with the sand and animal waste material for receiving and retaining at least a portion of the animal waste material while the vibrating motor is operating.

Abstract: A pet potty includes a base plate and a grid. The base plate has a base and a wall along the perimeter of the base, the base and wall impermeable to fluid and forming a cavity capable of retaining fluid. The grid is sized to fit within the cavity of the base plate and has a complex of beams that can support a pet atop the grid. The beams have a top side and a bottom side, and substantially all of the beams are convex in shape on their top side.

Abstract: This invention provides the pet owner with a leash that has a readily accessible storage area for empty excrement collecting bags. Because of its simple design, any additional bulk added to the leash because of this invention is negligible. Consequently, the leash can be folded and stored as usual; the pet owner need not think of or care for additional gadgets attached to the leash. Also, because of its simple design, this invention allows the pet owner to remove only the excrement collection bag needed in the ready use position. Once the excrement collecting bag has been used, it can be attached to the invention so that the excrement does not fall out of the excrement collecting bag.

The litter box enclosure preferably includes a cardboard construction with a removable cover and floor. The floor is preferably wax-coated to provide moisture resistance. The enclosure and the entry are preferably sized to provide the cat with a healthy environment while preventing small children and medium to large dogs from accessing the litter pan. The enclosure preferably includes a doormat near the entry to provide a comfortable, safe area for cats to rest and clean their paws of any stray litter, waste, or dust before leaving the enclosure. The enclosure also preferably has at least one odor absorption unit to minimize odor in the enclosure.

Abstract: An animal litter collector, comprising a foldable board and a foldable bag having an opening, wherein the foldable board is thin, flat and elongated having a receptacle portion at one end for receiving animal litter, a handle portion in the middle for holding with the human hand and a fastening portion at the other end with a fastener for closing the opening of the foldable bag by fixing it in place; one side of the opening of the foldable bag is fixed onto the fastening portion of the board, and the fastener of the fastening portion is in shape and position that can engage with the other side of the opening to fix it in place and keep the opening closed after animal litter is disposed inside the foldable bag. The present invention is to provide an animal litter collector which is portable, simple and easy to use, and is susceptible of a low cost of manufacture and an affordable price of sale, and can effectively pick up and hold the litter for disposal.

Abstract: A dog bowel movement retrieval device comprising a generally planar bowel retrieval member that can be placed on the ground and is made from a flexible paper based material. The device has a predetermined generally centrally located portion bounded by a perimeter portion on which a layer of adhesive is located on desired parts of the perimeter portion of the member. The adhesive is temporarily protected by an adhesive release material, which is in an overlying relationship with the adhesive. When in use, the centrally located portion is the area on which a dog would excrete its bowel movement droppings, and the device is bawled up so that the adhesive sticks together to secure the bowel movement droppings for its disposal in a sanitary manner. Preferably, the paper-based material is biodegradable.

An accessory holding chamber is externally attached to the central holding chamber and is intended to hold a flashlight. A waste bag holding chamber is also externally attached to the central holding chamber and is intended to hold disposable waste bags. The apparatus may be carried by hand by means of an attached handle, or attached to an animal restraining tool, such as a leash or similar device.

Abstract: The description includes a toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag, more specifically, a toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag which has certain water-resistance but can soften or disintegrate rapidly when flushed with a fast and large water flow. The toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag according to the examples herein may be manufactured from the film prepared from the raw materials comprising a polyvinyl alcohol resin, a filling agent, a natural polymer material, a plasticizer, and the like. The toilet-flushable type biodegradable collection bag according to the examples combines the water-resistance and the toilet-flushable property of the film, and has an advantage of water-resistance to a degree while satisfying the toilet-flushable property and biodegradability. The collection bag can be used to collect waste with certain water content, such as excrement and vomit of people or pet waste without dissolution or break.

Abstract: A pig-raising method is provided that decreases the bad odors of pig excreta, improves pig-raising efficiency, and stimulates the growth of the pigs so as to improve the quality of their meat so as to enable pig farmers to obtain good-quality meat. With the pig-raising method of the present invention (1) a pig house is provided with a water-supply system that passes water through first ceramic particles, with said activated water then supplied to pigs for drinking, and (2) pigs are fed a blended feed that consists of ordinary feed and second ceramic particles whose main component is silica obtained from plant materials and which constitutes 0.1%-3.0% of the weight of said blended feed. Further, there is spread over the floors of the pig houses a floor covering that consists of a mixture of sawdust and the second ceramic particles, with said second ceramic particles constituting 1.0%-10% of the weight of said floor covering.

Abstract: The invention is an enclosure for storing a cat litter pan and/or other pet related articles for a cat or other types of animals. The box has an exterior opening where the cat will enter and also an interior panel with an opening that is staggered with the exterior opening which serves to block litter from getting kicked out on the floor. The two openings also prevent children, dogs, or other animals from getting into the litter box. The two openings are interchangeable so they can be installed on any side of the box. The box opens from the top with a hydraulic safety hinge, allowing it to open and close slowly and also stay open for cleaning. The box has a hook to hang a litter scoop. The box can have different styles, but one style looks like a stylish piece of furniture.

Abstract: A device for removing canine fecal matter includes a lobed knob connected by concentric tubes to a dual housing, the inner of which holds a set of panels that are opened or closed by the linear movement of the smaller tube in combination with a panel actuating ring affixed to the inner shaft. The panels are extended by holding the larger tube and pushing the knob toward the panel housing. When a release button is actuated, the panels close around the fecal matter and, with the panels closed, a protective collection bag is secured by a clamp on the outer housing. With the collection bag inside the cavity formed by the closed panels. The knob can be rotated in either direction to turn the collection bag which causes the collection bag to pull away from the clamp for the purpose of disposal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for removing odor from animal deposits includes a container with an opening and with a germicidal emission device connected to the inside of the container such that no germicidal emissions are directed at the opening. A power source is connected to the germicidal emission device. A motion detector is connected inside the contained such that the motion detector detects motion through the opening outside of the container and further where the motion detector is connected to the power source and to the germicidal emission device such that the motion detector turns on the germicidal emission device when no motion is detected inside or outside of the container.

Abstract: A cat litter box apparatus for accommodating a plurality of cats, the apparatus controlling odors by providing a lid and two doors which return to a closed position automatically. The apparatus further provides either manual screening of litter via the sieved half-round ended scoop, or semi automatic litter screening via temporary placement of the scoop within either end of the box. The box is selectively tilted and supported in a chosen tilted position. The box further comprises wheels and an omnidirectional caster.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for separating animal waste from litter are provided. In one form, the apparatus includes a drum that contains litter and a helical rake that is rotatable in the drum. The rake can rotate relative to the drum to reduce power requirements for the rotary rake drive. Preferably, the drum is also rotatable by turning of the rake in the drum, but only for a limited, fixed angular distance which also reduces peak power requirements for the rotary drive motor for the rake.

Abstract: The animal waste collection sheet is planar and is consisted of a top sheet which is liquid permeable, a back sheet which is liquid impermeable and an absorbent sheet disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet. The top sheet has a high fiber density region in a thickness direction thereof, with a fiber density higher than an average fiber density of the top sheet, at least in a part of a side facing the absorbent sheet. The average fiber density is preferably in the range of 0.005 to 0.20 g/cm3, and a fiber density of the high fiber density region is preferably in the range of 0.007 to 0.25 g/cm3.

Abstract: A dog toilet is provided by a receptacle having a base and a rear wall and which presents an opening through which a dog may enter and leave the receptacle. The base presents a floor that has a drain opening therein adjacent the rear wall. A urinating post mounted above the drain opening and generally aligned therewith has a lower end in sufficiently close proximity to the drain opening to prevent a dog from stepping into the drain. A flushing system directs liquid along the floor to flush excrement to the drain opening when the dog leaves the receptacle.

Abstract: The present invention is a device comprising a disposable substrate that can be folded to form at least two sections including an upstanding section and a bottom section wherein the bottom section contains adhesive means for securing the device to excrement collection means. The substrate of the device is optionally treated with an elimination attractant. The present invention also includes a method of making the above-described device.

Abstract: A vertical pet excrement collection device. The device is an absorbent fabric collecting sheet mounted on a frame and maintained in a substantially vertical orientation to catch pet excrement emitted that would not land on or be absorbed by a horizontal collection device. In one embodiment, the device is incorporated with and connected to an existing horizontal collection device such as a litterbox. In a second embodiment the collection device is a frame on which an absorbent sheet is mounted, the frame having an interconnected horizontal frame and vertical frame defining a horizontal pad and a vertical pad. Simple and quick removal and replacement of the absorbent material is provided so that a solid sheet may be easily replaced.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for the detection, treatment or collection of a quantity of solid animal excrement from a surface, particularly a grassy surface. The method includes the steps of autonomously or semi-autonomously detecting the presence of the excrement on the surface, moving a collection/treatment device into position over the detected excrement, and, thereupon, subjecting the detected excrement to one or more of deodorization, disinfection, enhancement of deterioration, dispersal and/or collection of the detected excrement. The apparatus of the present invention operates without the immediate or continued intervention of a human. Preferably, the device us robotic in nature, is readily portable, and preferably includes a rechargeable power source.

Instead of the pet owner/walker carrying a waste bag, they now have the option of the pet carrying a storage case for retaining the waste and/or waste bags himself/herself. Abstract: A pet toilet that prevents scattering of litter material or tracking of litter material into the home is disclosed. The pet toilet comprises a toilet body having a box portion for containing sand or litter, a seat having a floor defining an opening so that dung and urine may pass from the animal to the sand. The seat is removably mounted on the upper opening of the box portion, and the seat may be lifted from a first position to a second position. Preferably, the seat structure defines a plurality of holes. These holes encourage sand to return to the box rather than to be tracked into the house. The toilet may be used without the seat for small pets such as kittens and still provides advantages to prevent the scattering of sand or litter during digging.

Abstract: The invention is a bag-scoop device to collect cat litter waste. The scoop part is a flat construct which readily folds and squeezes into a disposable scoop or shovel. The are holes in the dish of the shovel to sieve out small litter particles and retains the aggregated waste balls. The manufactured invention includes a bag that contains the scoop and attached frame to hold the bag open to receive the aggregated waste balls. The frame automatically is placed in the opening of the bag as the scoop is removed. In a second option a scraper part is attached to the scoop.

The front-back direction of the liquid-absorbing sheet can be changed without removing the liquid-absorbing sheet from the tray. The pet litter box includes a litter box main body having an opening from which pets enter. The litter box main body includes a litter container for storing liquid-passing litter formed of plural of granular materials provided therein, a liquid-absorbing sheet placed below the litter container for absorbing the liquid passing through the litter, and a liquid-absorbing sheet tray for holding the liquid-absorbing sheet. The liquid absorbing sheet tray can be withdrawn and removed from the front of the litter box main body and reversible in the front-back direction.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for collecting animal excrement that involves the use of an excrement collecting tool that is comprised of a pole; an optional handle attached to the upper portion of said pole; at least two outwardly extending arms attached to the bottom of said pole that are capable of closing inwardly toward each other; a triggering mechanism attached to the handle or the top of the pole and to the arms that, when activated, causes the arms to close; and a removable bag that attaches around the arms to provide an excrement receiving area and that collapses to encompass received excrement when the triggering mechanism is activated. Optionally, the pole can have telescoping sections that allow for adjustment of the length of the pole. Other options allow the arms to be folded up against the pole and otherwise adjusted in size. In use, the excrement collecting apparatus is placed below an animal when it is defecating and, after waste is received, the bag is removed for disposal.

Abstract: A device for cleaning clumping kitty litter. The present sifting pitcher is an improvement over traditional kitty litter scoops. The present sifting device has a larger opening and a greater capacity than traditional scoops, thereby making the kitty litter cleaning process quicker and easier. Using the present invention, an entire kitty litter can be cleaned with as few as one or two scoops. As the cleaning process becomes easier, pet owners will more likely clean their kitty litters regularly thus leading to a reduction in the odor associated with kitty litters.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus that is used to hold a bag in which pet refuse or waste is deposited without the need to directly hold the bag with the hands or another item closely associated with the person accompanying the pet, such as the person's clothing. The apparatus is generally comprised of a cord member and a clamping member. A bag-holding loop and a leach-connecting loop are formed in the cord member by the clamping member. The pet refuse bag is held within the bag-holding loop by sliding the clamping member down the cord member until the clamping member is adjacent to the bag. The leash-connecting loop is attached to a pet leash or a cord connecting member, which may be attached to a pet leash. The present invention also includes a method of using the apparatus.

Abstract: Disclosed is an animal litter that includes a palm oil residue, possibly in combination with another absorbent material such as whole ground grain, virgin germ, seed meal, spent germ or clay. The palm oil residue may be palm kernel cake, palm oil sludge, or palm pressed fiber. Also disclosed are a method for removing animal waste and a process for preparing an animal litter. The method for removal of animal waste includes allowing an animal to excrete waste into a container that includes a litter, the litter comprising a palm oil residue. The process for preparing an animal litter comprises combining the materials that make up the litter to form the litter.

Abstract: The circular animal toilet enclosure of this invention has a bottom section removably coupled to a rotatable flywheel floorboard, a cover cylinder removably coupled to the bottom section, a top section removably coupled to the cover cylinder, and a controller for the enclosure. The rotatable flywheel floorboard has pivoting serrated portions for grinding excreta while the floorboard is rotating. The cover cylinder has fixed serrated portions aligned with the pivoting serrated portions for grinding excreta while said floorboard is rotating. The cover cylinder also has at least one door, and at least one shower head in fluid communication with a water supply, an upper ring, waste collection tube, and a second drive motor. The upper ring is in fluid communication with both the rotatable flywheel floorboard and the waste collection tube. The waste collection tube is in fluid communication with a sewer. The second drive motor is removably coupled to the rotatable flywheel floorboard.

This rigid element, in the interior region of the cushion, keeps the cushion from bunching up, and provides a comfortable place for the animal to sit. The cushion also has a flexible peripheral region, which allows the cushion to be used in a variety of carriers with similar, but not identical, dimensions, and provides a comfortable nest-like effect.

Abstract: An improved automated litter box system which provides increased storage capacity of a waste receptacle which receives animal waste and clumped litter. The increased capacity of the waste receptacle is achieved by elevating the automated litter box system with an elevating apparatus so that a replacement waste receptacle of larger volume can replace the waste receptacle of the litter box system. The invention provides improved automated litter box systems which incorporate such a large volume waste receptacle as a component thereof. The elevating apparatus includes an elevated platform on which the lifter box system is placed. A ramp is provided to provide animal access to the system placed on the elevated platform.

Abstract: A self-cleaning litter apparatus that separates and extracts clumped litter waste material from litter material contained therein during use includes a chamber adapted to contain a quantity of litter material. The chamber is rotatable about a centrally disposed axis. A rake is disposed within the chamber. The rake is rotatable about an axis which is spaced apart from the chamber axis. A drive assembly is provided for simultaneously rotating the chamber about the chamber axis and for rotating the rake about the rake axis. The rake sweeps through the litter material while clumped litter waste material is directed toward the rake by rotation of the chamber to thereby separate clumped litter waste material from the litter material in the chamber, collect the separated clumped litter material in the rake and extract the separated clumped litter material from the chamber.

Abstract: A device, method and kit for collection of a urine specimen from an animal includes a cup to receive and hold the urine specimen, a lid to close cup after collection of the specimen, and a holder with a generally upright center extension member, a handle connected at the upper end of the extension member, and a cup holder extending forwardly from the lower end of the extension member and having an opening slidably receiving the cup for manual positioning of the cup under the animal from which the urine specimen is to be collected.

The base has a threaded opening extending therethrough. A cylindrically shaped post is attached to and extends away from the bottom side. The post has an aperture extending therethrough that is aligned with the opening. The post has an outer threaded surface adapted for engaging a sewer line. A cylindrically shaped cap has a lower end, an upper end and a perimeter wall. The perimeter wall is threaded and the cap has a diameter generally equal to a diameter of the opening. The lower end may be removably extended into and threadably coupled to the opening. A peripheral lip is attached to and extends upwardly from the base. Feces may be positioned in the opening and ultimately the sewer line.
