Lever Connected To The Cable Patents (Class 123/185.4)
  • Publication number: 20140000546
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and apparatus for starting an engine. The apparatus includes a stand that can be erected in a folded configuration above the engine to be started. A lever arm is pivotally secured to the bottom portion of the stand. A cord extends from the engine, over the stand, and connects to the lever arm. A pulley may be used to route the cord over the stand. This allows the user to push down upon the lever arm to pull the cord and start the engine.

  • Patent number: 8534254
Abstract: In order to create a starter device (100) for an internal combustion engine of a manually guided engine unit, wherein the device comprises a housing (10) and a cable drum (11) which can be rotated relative to the housing (10) about a rotational axis with a starter pull for starting the engine, and has a recoil spring space (14), which is arranged between the housing (10) and the cable drum (11), for a recoil spring (13), in order to move the cable drum (11) into its original position after a rotational movement of the starter, wherein sealing of the recoil spring space (14) is provided, which starter device on the one hand prevents dirt from penetrating into the recoil spring space and on the other hand has a simple design, it is proposed that the seal (15) is spaced apart radially from the rotational axis (X) to such an extent that the recoil spring space (14) is formed by a wall (16) of the cable drum (11) and an approximately opposite wall (17) of the housing (10).

  • Patent number: 7617809
Abstract: The invention relates to a work implement including a drive which can be started by a cable pull starter, wherein the cable pull starter has a starter handle which is located in a holder in a rest position and which can be removed from the holder by a user for starting the drive. The work implement also includes a starting brake for a tool which prevents tool movements hazardous to the user directly after starting the drive, wherein a tripping mechanism disposed on the holder is provided for the starting brake, which by removing the starter handle from the holder automatically tightens the starting brake.

  • Patent number: 7478617
Abstract: A power generator includes a supporting frame, a generator supported by the supporting frame, and an engine mechanism including an engine driving the generator and a recoil starter for starting the engine via starter cable. The power generator further includes a hand-free starter arrangement which includes a foot pedal movably supported by the supporting frame and a transmission unit coupling a pulling end of the starter cable with the foot pedal to transmit the downward stepping force of the foot pedal to a pulling force of the starter cable. A downward displacement of the foot pedal is corresponding to an operation length of the starter cable to start the engine such that when the foot pedal is depressed, the starter cable is pulled with the operation length to start the engine in a hand-free manner.

Abstract: A chainsaw starting apparatus comprises a frame, a first crank arm, a second crank arm, and a locking mechanism. The frame is designed to occupy a fixed position relative to a floor surface. The first crank arm and the second crank arm are each rotationally supported by the frame and interconnected to produce rotational movement of one arm upon rotational movement of the other arm. The locking mechanism may be used for releasably attaching a chainsaw to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6718931
Abstract: A recoil starter has a starter case provided around a starter shaft. A one-way clutch mechanism is formed between one end of the starter shaft and an engine. A reel is mounted rotatably on the starter shaft and a rope is wound in a groove of the reel. A first spiral spring has its ends fixed respectively to the starter case and reel and urges the reel in the direction in which the rope is taken up. A second spiral spring has its ends fixed respectively to the reel and transmits a rotational force of the reel to the starter shaft when the rope is drawn out. The peak load at the engine starting time is absorbed in the second spiral spring.
