Means Broken Or Pierced To Supply Treating Agent Patents (Class 128/203.21)
  • Patent number: 8196577
Abstract: A dispensing device has a storage device and an air pump for dispensing a medical formulation. The storage device has multiple inserts, each insert containing a single dose of the formulation. Each insert is located in a separate and sealed cavity. The cavities can be individually opened for dispensing the respective dose from the respective insert by a pressurizing gas via a connecting element that is moveable relative to the inserts for individually supplying pressurized gas to a respective one of the receptacles. A mechanism is provided for preventing a back stroke of the connecting element during supplying of the pressurizing gas and dispensing of the formulation.

Abstract: An inhaler comprising a housing to receive a strip having a plurality of blisters is disclosed. Each blister has a puncturable lid and contains a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user. A mouthpiece is pivotally mounted to the housing through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user. The inhaler also has an actuating mechanism including a lever operable to sequentially move each blister into alignment with a blister piercing member depending from the mouthpiece. The actuating lever is also operable to cause the mouthpiece to pivot so that the blister piercing member punctures the lid of an aligned blister so that, when a user inhales through the mouthpiece, an airflow through the blister is generated to entrain the dose contained therein and carry it, via the mouthpiece, into the user's airway.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an inhaler, comprising a base having at least one air-tight, foil-sealed cavity containing medicament. An actuator is engagable with a separating element attached to the foil, the actuator having an energized position in which it is biased towards an unloaded position so as to cause the separating element and attached foil to be moved away from the cavity. A latch has a first position, in which it latches the actuator in said energized position, wherein the latch is at least partly arranged in a flow path such that an inhalation flow through the flow path affects the latch to move from the first position to the second position. The invention also relates to a method of dispensing a medicament from a sealed cavity inside an inhaler.

Abstract: An inhaler is disclosed. It comprises a housing to receive a strip of blisters each having a puncturable lid and containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user and, an actuator operable to sequentially move each blister into alignment with a blister piercing member. The actuator is also operable to cause the blister piercing element to puncture the lid of a blister such that, when a user inhales through the mouthpiece, an airflow through the blister is generated to entrain the dose contained therein and carry it out of the blister and via the mouthpiece into the user's airway.

Abstract: The invention relates to a dispenser for pulverulent compounds contained in a separate pack, in particular compounds contained in a blister pack, wherein the pack has a container part and a tear-off container cover, wherein, furthermore, an air flow aspirated after removal of the container cover from the container part is at least partially aspirated through the container part. The container cover projects out of a tear-off opening of the dispenser for actuating purposes. The dispenser of the type in question is improved in a structurally simple manner such that functionally reliable handling is provided over the course of the inhaling operation. The air flow is aspirated laterally into the dispenser with respect to a tear-off direction of the container cover, and that the container cover closes the tear-off opening.
