Abstract: A hair clip includes a curvilinear upper clamping arm having a shape as a curved knurled member; a curvilinear lower clamping arm having a slightly curved bend up shape; and a hinge assembly, said upper clamping arm including two side ears and elongated projections on an lower surface, said lower clamping arm including two side brackets, an elongated opening extending from a position adjacent of the other end to the side brackets to allow the plurality of elongated projections to pass through, protrusions disposed on an upper surface at either side of the opening, and said hinge assembly including a torsion spring and pins through the side ears and the brackets. The upper clamping arm and the lower clamping arm are set in a curved shape, the middle parts of the upper and lower clamping arms do not abut against each other to increase a large space for accommodating hair.

Abstract: The present invention is a disguised holder or case that appears to be a lipstick application dispenser but has there within a dental scaler concealed in a faux lipstick tube. The device is designed to fool an observer into believing that the user is applying lipstick rather than picking at or removing food between teeth and therefore can be used by a person in public places.

Abstract: A wig clip constituted by a plastic base frame and plastic comb body, wherein such wig clip is characterized in that: the base frame has pins or holes provided on/in the side elements of a rectangular frame member comprising front/rear elements and side elements; the comb body has multiple comb teeth provided at the front of the base, while a tab is provided at the rear of the base via a spring having a void, with holes or pins formed in/on the left side and right side of the base; and the comb body and base frame are axially joined in a rotatable manner and have such relationship that the tab can be engaged with the lock member, so that the positions of the two can be changed between an open state and clipping state.

Abstract: A hair apparatus and hair retention method includes a spine having a longitudinal axis, wherein the spine includes a hole and a peg outwardly protruding from an edge of the spine and substantially along the longitudinal axis of the spine. The spine includes a plurality of protrusions outwardly projecting orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the spine. The hair apparatus further includes a first clip portion including a first connecting mechanism that non-integrally connects the first clip portion with the spine, wherein the first connecting mechanism is positioned at a first end of the first clip portion. The first clip portion includes a first attachment mechanism positioned at a second end of the first clip portion, wherein the first end is at an opposite end from the second end, and thereby the first connecting mechanism and the first attachment mechanism are positioned at opposite ends of the first clip portion.

Abstract: A suture clamp comprising a plurality of elements positioned together in a row, each element of the plurality of elements having a lower portion separated from an upper portion by a flexible neck, each element of the plurality of elements including a slot having an outwardly facing opening, the slots from the plurality of elements configured to accept a suture element through the row of elements and secure the suture element. A method of clamping a suture, including applying a biasing force to at least one element into the first position to provide access to the outwardly facing opening of the slot, passing the suture through a tissue layer, receiving the suture into the slot through the outward facing opening, and removing the biasing force to form a tortuous path between adjacently positioned elements of the plurality of elements.

Abstract: A hair apparatus and hair retention method includes a spine having a longitudinal axis, wherein the spine includes a hole and a peg outwardly protruding from an edge of the spine and substantially along the longitudinal axis of the spine. The spine includes a plurality of protrusions outwardly projecting orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the spine. The hair apparatus further includes a first clip portion including a first connecting mechanism that non-integrally connects the first clip portion with the spine, wherein the first connecting mechanism is positioned at a first end of the first clip portion. The first clip portion includes a first attachment mechanism positioned at a second end of the first clip portion, wherein the first end is at an opposite end from the second end, and thereby the first connecting mechanism and the first attachment mechanism are positioned at opposite ends of the first clip portion.

Abstract: A multiple clip fastener for securing sections of hair of a human being in rows and for aligning hair clips. The apparatus is a semicircle headband, retaining comb, or barrette that has a plurality of hair clips integrally attached and aligned longitudinally along their top. In use, the headband, retaining comb, or barrette is attached to the hair and hair sections are neatly aligned and secured in rows to the multiple clip fastener by placing each corresponding hair section into corresponding hair clip. Each clip remains aligned with each other and the multiple clip hair fastener is removable and reusable.

Abstract: A hair grooming device, in particular a device that facilitates the cutting and styling of hair at home, as well as at the salon. The device has handle with one or more fingers extending from it. The fingers may be curved to conform to the shape of the head. At least one of the fingers has a slot extending along its length. A comb carrying teeth extends adjacent the length of the/each slotted finger and is moveable between a retracted position in which it is spaced apart from the slot, and an engaged position in which the teeth intersect the slot to grip hair along the length of the slotted finger. A method of using the device is a further aspect of the invention.

Abstract: A hair coloring tool combining a styling comb and a hair coloring brush into a single easy to use device is disclosed. The hair coloring brush is secured to the styling comb by an assembly which is capable of holding the hair coloring brush at various angular positions relative to the comb to promote easy application of hair coloring agents to selected strands of hair.

Abstract: A device (1) for applying a hair product to tresses includes a tip (12) for separating a given tress (21) of a head of hair, rows of teeth (5) capable of being charged with a hair product, the application of the hair product to the separated tress being effected by bringing the tress into application contact at a given point of the tress with the teeth (5) and by displacing the teeth (5) relative to the tress from the given point towards the free end of the tress. A part (3, 13) of the device 1 keeps the tress in application contact with the teeth (5) during the whole of the displacement.

Abstract: A hair styling device is provided for holding hair in place, particularly upsweep styles in the form of twists or French twists. The invention is particularly in the form of a comb with teeth conforming generally to the shape of the head so as to insert into an elongated twist of hair folded against the head. Separately offset arched sections on the teeth provide for insertion of a locking pin which serves to securely hold hair in place without the need for auxiliary anchors such as hairpins and clamps.

Abstract: A hair clip structure having a comb concealed therein includes a plate body, an elastic clip, and a comb. The plate body has an inner acting face on which the elastic clip is secured using bolts. Left and right ends of the plate body are respectively provided with left and right tracks, that are respectively provided with openings on opposed faces and lower portions for receiving the comb that is pushed in between the left and right tracks from a lower end of the plate body. The left and right tracks on the plate body are provided with left and right limiting grooves each having a stop boss. An intermediate limiting groove having upper and lower stop projections is disposed between the left and right limiting grooves.

Abstract: A barrette combined with a comb is provided that includes an elongated base plate having a retainer unit at one end and two upright lugs bilaterally disposed at an opposite end. A clamping plate is included that has a fixed end pivoted to the upright lugs of the base plate and a free end formed with a coupling that is adapted for coupling to the retainer unit of the base plate. A comb strip is also included that is pivotally coupled to the retainer unit of the base plate. The comb strip has longitudinal rows of teeth and is displaceable between a first position, in which the comb strip is closed on the base plate and retained thereto by the clamping plate, and a second position in which the cob strip is extended out of the base plate and secured in the extended position by the clamping plate for cleaning and smoothing the hair.

Abstract: A hair clip has a base plate (1, 101) having comb-tooth-shaped lugs (4, 104), and also has a hair retainer (2, 102) connected to the base plate. The hair retainer has one end engageable with and disengageable from one end of base plate. The lugs (4, 104) are effective to render the hair clip more retentive on the user's hair. The hair retainer (2, 102) can swing or slide relative to the base plate (1, 101) so as to expose and use the comb-tooth-shaped lugs (4, 104) as a hair brush or as a comb, with the hair retainer then serving as a handgrip.

Abstract: A hair anchoring and decorating device comprises a receiving section locatable in an area of hair. The receiving section is a clamp ring made of a resilient material. A plurality of comb assemblies comprising an arcuate comb having a plurality of teeth are arranged around a central wheel having a geared outer circumference. At least a portion of each comb assembly is geared for interlocking with the gears of the central wheel for providing rotational movement of the combs and teeth. The teeth are movable in a receiving space of the clamp ring for securing a gathering of hair between the teeth of each comb. A positioning tool is engageable with the central wheel and comb assemblies for effectuating rotation thereof.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for styling hair includes a latch mechanism for releasably securing a hair styling device about a plurality of hair strands. The latch mechanism is adapted to interconnect first and second pivotally interconnected elongated members of the hair styling device and includes a first latch member disposed substantially adjacent a first end of the first elongated member and a second latch member disposed substantially adjacent a first end of the second elongated member. The first and second latch members are adapted to releasably engage one another. At least one of the first and second elongated latch is elastically deformable. In the preferred embodiment, each of the latch members includes a first segment having a free end spaced apart from an adjacent surface of its respective elongated member. Each free end cooperates with the adjacent surface to define an opening therebetween.

Abstract: An ornamental clip comprises generally a flat conical base and an elastic plate coupled on their corresponding ends thereof. The base has an intermediate corrugated rectangular plate in different curvature disposed into a longitudinal recess along the length of its center line and a square socket formed at the flat end thereof including a horizontal slot and a pair of rectangular recesses on upper portion. The elastic plate has a elongate elliptical recess formed along its longitudinal center line, a pair of three-point elastic centers respectively pressed adjacent the two ends of the elliptical recess and a rectangular plug formed at the flat end having a pair of spaced rectangular spring snap catches formed on longitudinal center line for a readily connection of the rectangular plug with the square socket in a snap fitting. There are several modified examples and an interlocking structure based on this ornament clip.

Abstract: There is disclosed herein a haircutting device or aid which has a pair of movable members which can be slid through the hair and moved to lift a section of hair for cutting. The device comprises a handle which is held in the hand of the user, a lower comb section and an upper comb section. The upper comb section has connected therewith a lever which allows the upper comb section to be raised with respect to the lower comb section to lift the length of hair. Preferably the lower comb section includes a smooth "comb" base member which can slide along the scalp, and the upper comb section terminates in a comb having a plurality of teeth which likewise move through the hair of the scalp and lift the length of hair to be cut. Scissors are used in a conventional manner along the upper comb member to cut the hair extending beyond the lifted length. The lower comb section is adjustable with respect to the handle which, in turn, enables adjustment of the length of hair to be lifted for cutting.

Abstract: Hair clasping and brushing device and method of styling hair using the same. The device is capable of being arranged in a brushing configuration for brushing hair and in a clasping configuration for clasping hair, and generally comprises a clasp frame, a brush assembly, a clasp bar, a hinge mechanism, and a releasable clasp locking mechanism. The clasp frame has a first clasp frame end portion, a second clasp frame end portion, and an intermediate clasp frame portion disposed therebetween. The brush assembly is disposed along the intermediate clasp frame portion, for brushing hair. The clasp bar has a first clasp bar end portion, a second clasp bar end portion, and an intermediate clasp bar portion disposed therebetween, which is capable of being grasped in the hand of a user.

Abstract: A hairdressing apparatus includes a clamp having a pair of ribs which are pivotally connected at a lower end and adjustably releasably connected at an upper end, to grip hair therebetween. A comb portion includes a back with teeth projecting therefrom, and upper and lower legs projecting from the ends of the back parallel to the teeth. The projecting ends of the comb legs are releasably connected to the upper and lower ends of the clamp portion to secure the comb portion and clamp portion together. A method for styling hair utilizing the hairdressing apparatus includes the initial step of brushing the hair rearwardly to form a ponytail having long and short hair strands. The clamp portion of the hairdressing apparatus is then clamped on the ponytail at a location to grip both the long and short hair strands, and spaced away from the head. The end of the ponytail is then rolled towards the head, the roll being parallel to the clamp apparatus, until the clamp apparatus is wrapped into the roll.

Abstract: A horse hair banding comb having a comb member with a plurality of teeth and a plurality of receptacles formed therein and a looking member removably affixed to the comb member. The looking member extends over the teeth. The looking member has an edge positioned in proximity to the receptacle area. The receptacle areas allow horse hair to pass therethrough. The comb member is made up of a body, a first tooth having a V-shaped configuration and extending downwardly from the body, a second tooth having a V-shaped configuration and extending downwardly from the body, and a first receptacle area formed in the body between the first and second teeth. The locking member includes a first bar and a second bar in generally parallel spaced relationship. The comb member is positioned within this spaced area between the first and second bars.

Abstract: The invention shows a comb for the formation of braids and similar hairstyles in professional hairdressing. One embodiment is a comb, having teeth of a spaced pattern common in the trade; extending out from the back of the comb, for a substantial distance along the back of the comb is a flat, flexible bar, spaced a distance from the comb. Preferably, the spacing is tapered, being narrower at the point of attachment of the bar to the comb. This forms a tapered space for holding a section of hair, and aids in retaining the section of hair by the comb, permitting a hairdresser to separate a section of hair into the space, and then allow the comb to hang free. In a second version of the comb, the flexible bar is in the form of a spring, a curved flexible bar fastened to one end of the comb, and extending in for form of a looped curve along the back to a pivot pin at the other end of the comb; the bar then is curved around the pin and extends back a distance along the comb to form the hair braid retention space.

Abstract: A method for facilitated precision cutting of hair by one handed sectioning, combing and locking of hair into position for cutting and a device for effecting the method. The device comprises a combination of comb, sectioning and locking members arranged such that it provides for the rapid one handed sequential hairstyling functions of sectioning, combing and uniform locking of hair in position for cutting, clipping or trimming without the necessity of constant comb and finger manipulation and movement. A short comb, adapted to comb a straight portion of hair, is combined with a thin tapered elongated sectioning and locking bar. The comb and bar are hingedly connected and are movable relative to each other by use of a single hand and finger manipulation.

Abstract: An improved hair dressing device of the curling iron type having a heatable barrel is provided, along a longitudinal segment thereof, with a plurality of radially projecting hair combing teeth having substantially pointed ends. A hair-confining member, generally coextensive with and overlying the barrel segment in operative position, is pivotally mounted to the barrel, adjacent its rearward end for movement between the operative position and a non-operative position away from the barrel. Stop means are associated with the member for maintaining the same in spaced relation to the barrel and to the ends of the teeth in the operative position so as to essentially limit and minimize clamping pressure on hair confined between the member and the barrel to allow the hair to slide therebetween as the barrel is rotated during use, with a minimum possibility of hair being caught between the member and the ends of the teeth.
