Yoke Or Cage-type Support For Valve Stem Patents (Class 137/543)
  • Patent number: 11668405
Abstract: A safety valve is for controlling dispensing of a fluid flow from a conduit. A valve body forms an inlet opening of the fluid, an outlet opening of the fluid, and a main passageway for the fluid which fluidly connects the inlet opening to the outlet opening. At least one fluid relief opening fluidly communicates with the outlet opening through a valve seat. A shutter elastically cooperates with the valve seat to be biased by an elastic device to sealingly close the valve seat, and to open said seat when the pressure of the fluid in the outlet opening exceeds the force applied by said elastic device.

A poppet is movable between a closed position in which the poppet engages the seat to block flow of gas through the passage and an open position in which the poppet is spaced from the seat to permit flow of gas. A retainer mounts the poppet in the passage and guides movement of the poppet. A spring urges the poppet to the closed position such that the poppet is responsive to pressure of the gas exceeding a predetermined value to move the poppet away from the seat against the urging of the biasing member and to the open position.

Abstract: A suction valve including a valve seat and a piston movably joined to the valve seat. The piston has a head for engaging the top surface of the valve seat and a stem extending downwardly from the head through the valve seat. A valve guide is positioned adjacent the bottom surface of the valve seat and slidably receives the stem. A valve keeper is fitted upon the stem such that the valve guide is disposed between the valve seat and the valve keeper. A keeper pin is slidably positioned within a transverse aperture in the stem and abuts the bottom of the valve keeper. A compressed spring is positioned between, and exerts opposing forces upon, the valve guide and the valve keeper so as to normally retain the head of the piston in engagement with the top surface of the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 6470911
Abstract: A check valve attached to an inner wall of a main body of a fuel tank ensures a sufficient seal of the main body from outside, without increasing the required number of parts. The check valve communicates with a fuel conduit of a fuel inlet pipe and functions to prevent liquid fuel and fuel vapor in the main body from flowing through the fuel inlet pipe and being released to the outside. The check valve is opened by a flow of fuel in the fuel inlet pipe and allows the flow of fuel to be introduced into the main body. The check valve includes a casing with a fuel outlet, a valve disc, and a fixation plate. The valve disc is movable between an open position and a closed position to open and close the fuel outlet of the casing. The fixation plate has one end inserted in an end of the casing and the other end welded to the main body. This arrangement enables the main body to be securely sealed from the outside.

Abstract: A valved fitting is provided which includes a body having a first end and a second end spaced from the first end, with a fluid passage extending through the body between the first and second ends. A valve seat is defined on the body within the fluid passage, and a valve assembly is removably disposed within the fluid passage for controlling flow through the fluid passage. The valve assembly includes a valve head that is engageable with the valve seat in sealable relation therewith. A higher flow area, and thus a higher flow rate, are achieved with the fitting of the invention as compared to conventional fittings which utilize a single-piece body with a Schrader valve, because the valve seat is defined on the body, and the valve head is engageable with the valve seat. Further, the valve assembly is removable, thereby allowing the valve assembly to be replaced when needed. The valved fitting of the invention is particularly useful on a service valve block for an air conditioning system.

This apparatus is secured to the pipeline directly in line with the pressure wave and consists of a spool piece having an opening therethrough which is selectively biased in the closed position. A blast shield surrounds this opening so that the sudden release of such pressure will not cause damage to surrounding people or property.

Abstract: The plunger of the valve has a semi-spherical valve member of reduced diameter, so that it is inwardly spaced from the ribs of the cage. The plunger is centralized and guided by top and bottom stems attached to the ball and working loosely in apertured webs carried by the cage and seat member. The cage has 2 or 3 ribs only, so that the windows are wider. The cage web is downwardly spaced from the top of the cage, to maximize the area of the cage outlet. The valve member has a reduced diameter neck at its upper end, to keep the valve member downwardly spaced from the cage web when the valve is fully open. As a result of these features the cross-sectional areas of the flow passage through the opened valve are increased. The stems are preferably straight-sided and the web openings are circular so fluid may flush out solids packing between the stems and webs. The valve has been improved to increase flow capacity and ensure line contact seating which can be maintained even though there is wear of the parts.
