    Abstract: A mounted assembly of the tubeless type for a bicycle, includes a rim and a tire having beads. The rim includes two wings attached to two seats which receive the tire beads. A tire reception zone is formed between the wings. The rim and/or the tire includes a stabilizing structure for stabilizing the air pressure at the level of the tire's outer surface, in zones which are neither in contact with the ground nor in contact with the rim, to a value of less than 2 bar. The stabilizing structure enables air to be conducted from the tire to atmosphere if a bead loses contact with its seat. The stabilizing structure can be in the form of holes in the wings and/or the seats, or in the form of channels or projections disposed on the wings. Alternatively, the stabilizing structure can be in the form of projections formed on the tire sidewall and arranged to contact the wings.

    Abstract: A wheel structure is generally composed of a wheel frame and a tire. The wheel frame is a combination of a male frame and a female frame, wherein outer surfaces of the male and female frames are formed with ridges and the center portions of which are formed with locating holes. The male frame is formed with a rib having an extension, and a plurality of locating blocks protruding from an inner wall of a trough of the male frame. The female frame also has a plurality of locating grooves corresponding to the locating blocks of the male frame. The tire is made of plastics foam material having an opening at the center and a reduced section near the opening. The tire is sleeved onto the male frame and confined by the rib, and the female frame is engaged with the male frame by the locating blocks meshing with the locating grooves, as well as fasteners to secure the tire on the wheel frame.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a tubeless bicycle tire and rim. The rim is formed with opposing recesses configured to engage corresponding beads formed on the tire. With the beads engaged in the recesses, the tire and rim seal for form an air tight, sealed chamber such that no inner tube is necessary. The rim is formed with a single aperture having a valve installed therein. Preferably, the valve is formed with a ring which extends into the air tight, sealed chamber. In the event of a flat tire, the tire may be removed from the rim. The valve may also be removed by grasping the ring and pulling.

    Abstract: The free end regions of the carcass of the tire form bead regions by extending these free end regions around a bead core. Each bead region of the tire carcass is seated on a related seat or seat surface formed at the tire rim. A first end region of a bead ring anchors the associated bead region on the associated seat and a second end region of this bead ring is locked in a locking groove formed at the related edge region of the tire rim. The bead ring is preferably made of spring steel and may be provided with cuts or cutouts in its second end region to facilitate the mounting thereof at the tire rim. The first end region of the bead ring may be vulcanized into or otherwise connected with the tire carcass. The seat may be formed at the inner circumferential surface or at the outer circumferential surface of the tire rim.
