Abstract: [Object] To enable stable void recording to be performed with lower power than in a case where a conventional void (hole) recording method is adopted. [Solving Means] Provided is an optical recording medium including a recording layer in which a plurality of boundary surfaces of resin layers are formed, and intervals of the boundary surfaces are set to be equal to or smaller than a focal depth of recording light. A recording sensitivity of hole marks is enhanced at the boundary surfaces of the resin layers. Therefore, by providing the recording layer in which the boundary surfaces are provided at intervals equal to or smaller than the focal depth of recording light as described above, that is, the recording layer is practically filled with the boundary surfaces, the hole mark recording sensitivity of the recording layer can be enhanced as a whole.

Abstract: Embedded RFID (radio frequency identification) tags for objects or containers and related systems and methods are disclosed that overcome problems existing with previous RFID tags. The RFID tags are embedded within recesses within the outer surfaces of objects or containers, such as within a metal valve flange for a metal container. The RFID tags can also be shaped and configured to fit within recesses so that the top surfaces of the RFID tags match the outer surfaces of the objects or containers. The embedded RFID tags can also be painted or otherwise disguised so that they are more difficult to identify thereby reducing the likelihood that attempts to remove them will occur. In addition, the RFID tags are preferably tamper resistant so that removal of an RFID tag, after it is attached, will destroy and/or render inoperable the RFID transponder within the RFID tag.

The method includes: a photocurable resin sheet laminating step of laminating an uncured photocurable resin sheet for forming a core on a surface of a first cladding layer that has been formed on a substrate; a mirror face forming step of forming a mirror face for guiding light to the core by pressing a die provided with a blade having, in a cross-section, a 45° inclined plane into the photocurable resin sheet; a core forming step of forming a core having the mirror face positioned at an end thereof by selectively exposing to light, and developing, the photocurable resin sheet; and a cladding layer forming step of forming a second cladding layer so as to bury the core.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a laminated material and a method for making the same. The laminated material includes a main layer, a surface layer and an adhesion layer. The main layer at least includes a first polymer resin. The surface layer is disposed on the main layer, the material of the surface layer is a second polymer resin, and the solid content of the second polymer resin is less than that of the first polymer resin. The adhesion layer is disposed under the main layer, and the material of the adhesion layer is thermoplastic resin which is adhesive when being heated, so that the laminated material can be directly attached to another element, thereby simplifying the process and reducing cost.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an implant, in particular an intraluminal endoprothesis, comprising a body containing a metallic material, and comprising at least one functional element that is fastened to the body and has a material composition in at least a portion of its volume that differs from the material of the body, the material composition preferably including radio-opaque and/or x-ray opaque material. To effectively prevent accelerated degradation due to the formation of a local cell of the material of the body and the functional element, the at least one functional element includes a first layer at least in the region of its surface where it is bonded to the body, the first layer primarily containing at least one metal oxide. Furthermore, the manufacture of an implant of this type is described.
