Abstract: A can type secondary battery and a method of manufacturing a circuit board for the secondary battery that improves reliability by providing a consistent breakdown pressure of the circuit board used in the can type secondary battery. The can type secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a can to house the electrode assembly and a cap assembly combined with the can. The cap assembly includes a circuit board, which includes fiber layers and is broken by a safety vent when an internal pressure of the can is increased. A woven direction of the fiber layers is inclined with respect to a length direction of the circuit board. Distribution of the breakdown pressure among the circuit boards is decreased, and thus the circuit boards are broken under a consistent pressure, thereby improving the reliability of the can type secondary battery.

Abstract: A composite frame for vehicles formed with a honeycomb or similar core laminated on the top and bottom sides with a layer of material joined by an adhesive layer. One or more structural beams or stringer are interposed between the top and bottom layer of the composite frame running part or all of the length or width of the composite frame. Each of these structural members may also be joined to the top and bottom material as well as the adjacent honeycomb or by a layer of adhesive or by other means. One embodiment of the frame may be perfectly flat along a horizontal axis. A second embodiment may conform to any curvature, angle or combination specified.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing an electronic device comprising a terminal provided with a conductor which penetrates a cured prepreg is provided. At least one opening is formed in the prepreg. The prepreg is attached to a substrate over which an electronic element is formed so that the conductor included in the terminal overlaps with the opening. A conductive paste is provided in a region of the prepreg where the opening is provided. Part of the conductive paste flows into the opening to be in contact with the conductor included in the terminal. Then, heat treatment is performed so that the conductive paste and the prepreg are cured. In the process for manufacturing the terminal, it is not necessary to perform a step of forming an opening with a laser beam after the prepreg is cured. Thus, an adverse effect of a laser beam on the electronic element can be eliminated.

Abstract: A laminate tape that has a bottom layer of aggressive adhesive formulated to have sufficient adhesion to construction materials to as low as 20 degrees F. The adhesive is applied in a layer of about 2 to 5 mils. A second layer that is about 10 to 60 mils thick is made of rubberized asphalt, which provides self-sealing capabilities. In one embodiment, the first layer has strips of adhesive and sections of rubberized asphalt. The third layer is a film, which can be a thin, contiguous polymer, fabric or particulate. The laminate can be used where a strong adhesive is needed that will adhere to construction materials at or near 20 degrees Fahrenheit, while still retaining self-sealing characteristics.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an electronic component-embedded printed circuit board, including: a flexible film; an insulation layer formed on one side of the flexible film; an electronic component mounted on the one side of the flexible film in a face-down manner such that the electronic component is buried in the insulation layer; and a circuit layer including a connecting pattern which is formed on the one side of the flexible film and is connected with a connecting terminal of the electronic component by a connecting member. The electronic component-embedded printed circuit board is advantageous in that the position alignment between the connecting patterns and the connecting terminals is easy and the connection reliability therebetween is high because the connecting patterns formed on a flexible film are directly connected to the connecting terminals of an electronic component using connecting members, and in that the production cost thereof can be reduced because additional rewiring is not required.

Abstract: Systems and methods for personalizing prosthetic and orthotic devices are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method of personalizing a portion of a device configured to be worn by a wearer as at least one of a prosthetic or an orthosis may include facilitating an application of a wearer-selected artwork to the portion of the device. For example, in various specific embodiments, the facilitating an application of a wearer-selected artwork to the portion of the device may include creating a portion of material having a wearer-specified personalization artwork, and providing the portion of material having the wearer-specified personalization artwork to at least one of the wearer or a third party for application onto the portion of the device. In some embodiments, the portion of material may be provided to at least one of the wearer or a third party for application when the portion of the device is being fabricated.

Abstract: A cut and abrasion resistant webbing includes a main body (1) and a cut and abrasion resistant protection (3) attached over the main body. The main body is made from a high tenacity fiber, and the protection is made from a plastisol mixture forming a paste. A method of manufacturing the webbing includes steps of: applying the main body by weaving or not weaving fiber; and coating a cut and abrasion resistant paste onto the main body, then curing and drying, finally forming a cut and abrasion resistant protection on the surface of the webbing. The anti cut and anti abrasion webbing for lifting, sling, lashing, tie down and lanyard becomes very tough to abrasion and cut. And the life cycle thereof can be improved over 2 to 10 times than the actual manufactured ones.
