Abstract: A method for reworking an electrically conductive layer of a composite skin is disclosed in which a patch replaces the altered section of the electrically conductive layer. The method is performed by removing a portion of the electrically conductive layer to reveal the underlying composite skin. A patch is formed, having an electrically conductive section coupled to an adhesive having a low dielectric breakdown strength, and is then introduced over the underlying composite skin such that the adhesive layer covers the underlying composite skin and overlaps an unremoved portion of the electrically conductive layer. The patch is applied such that the electrically conductive section within the patch covers the adhesive layer and overlaps the unremoved section of the electrically conductive layer. The adhesive layer preferably has a low dielectric breakdown strength, so that electricity from lightning which strikes the composite skin may be conducted through the adhesive.

Abstract: A vehicle is wrapped by a printed adhesive film where the film is also applied over doors and other areas intended not to be covered. The film is cut at the door edge and over the area by adhesively attaching a tape having a release coating on the front surface and carrying a filament along a center of the front side. The printed film is applied over the door, the area not to be covered and the tapes and is cut along the door edge and around the area by pulling the filament from the tape so that a strip of the film at the door edge and the film over the area can be removed. The film can be stretched and pulled away from the tape for reapplying for proper fit.

  • Patent number: 7833375
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for butt-jointing edges of an elastic material sheet is disclosed. The elastic material sheet is supported such that the two edges to be butt-jointed are oppositely opposed. By moving a pair of counterrotating conical surfaces along the edges, the surfaces of the edges portions are drawn toward the center between the two edges so that the edges are butt-jointed. Between the conical surfaces, a small space is provided so as to form a small rib-like protrusion along the butt-joint. Then, the small rib-like protrusion of the elastic material is pressed down to flatten. Therefore, at the butt-joint interface, the elastic material irregularly interfuses to increase the strength of the butt-joint.

Abstract: A tube connecting apparatus that can carry out self reset operation without giving damage to the apparatus and that safety of an operator is considered. The tube connecting apparatus has an EEPROM memorizing information with respect to a connecting process state of tubes. When electric power is inputted, the apparatus judges whether power supply was shut off during tube connecting operation based upon the information memorized in the EEPROM with respect to the connecting process state of tubes and a detecting result of a wafer 41 according to a wafer position detecting sensor 421, and carries out reset operation. In the reset operation, the apparatus restarts and completes connecting operation (S620 to 632) by heating the wafer again to fuse the tubes adhered to the wafer (S614, 616). Error indication is displayed at a LCD display to secure connecting strength and the like (S634). A locking state is not cancelled during cooling time after heating of the wafer is stopped to secure safety (S628 to S632).
