  • Patent number: 5566738
Abstract: A roller shutter includes a plurality of horizontal slats (I) each provided with a flat lug (22) projecting from each end and mounting inside guide rails (V) on both sides of the window or door. Each slat has its upper edge (3) bent in a hook-profile in one direction and its lower edge (4) bent in a hook-profile in the opposite direction. The upper edge of each slat engages the lower edge of the adjoining slat in such a manner that all slats of the shutter are in firm engagement wile their axes are at a possible maximum distance from each other, but are releasable from each other by their rotation about their axes whenever the shutter is lowered with the lowermost slat resting on the window sill with the slat axes at a minimum distance from each other. Rotation of the slats is carried out by slotted rotors (III) rotatably mounted in the guide rails (V) whereof each rotor slot engages one flat lug (22), at minimum distance.

  • Patent number: 5566737
Abstract: A louverable roller blind has lamellar blind slats (14), similar to Venetian blind slats, hingedly linked at their upper areas to pull chain elements (21, 40) and at their lower areas to adjusting chain elements (23, 41). The blind slats (14) are further laterally guided in stationary guide profiles (31). Pins (32) that connect the adjusting chain elements (23, 41) to the blind slats (14) are spaced apart from a plane in which hinge pins (30) of the adjusting chain elements (23, 41) are located. The hinge pins (30, 32) that link the pull chain elements (21, 40) and the adjusting chain elements (23, 41), as well as swivelling pins (16) of the blind slats (14), are mutually aligned when the roller blind is not used as a Venetian blind. This alignment allows the roller blind to be rolled up without problems in a reduced space and to be used as a Venetian blind with no need for special aids.

Abstract: A base member and a fascia are assembled to form a hollow door section which is filled with insulative material. Adjacent sections are coupled along respective longitudinal edges for angular and spatial displacement. The base member is extended from a selected plastic with male and female coupling components extending continuously along respective longitudinal edges. A plurality of mounting members projecting from the lateral edges of the sections matingly and slidably engage the semi-cylindrical guide surface of a tract for reciprocal vertical movement of the door. The door may be partially raised for spatial displacement of the sections whereby flow-through ventilation openings are exposed. In a specific embodiment, a flexible drive screw is rotatably carried within the track for powered operation of the door. In alternate embodiments a generally tubular door track is either grasped by a door guide apparatus having a clip, or the guide is slit and a rounded guide rides within the track.

  • Patent number: 5547241
Abstract: An articulated door and door guiding track covers storage bays of a beverage body. The articulated door is formed by engaging a plurality of polymeric panel sections into a sequence such that each panel section can be positioned at varying angles with respect to an adjacent engaged panel section. Elastic shock cord runs from the bottom panel section to the top panel section of each articulated door. The shock cord prevents adjacent panel sections from moving laterally with respect to one another and holds the flat outer surface of each panel section flush with the flat outer surfaces of adjacent panel sections. The articulated door is guided between an open position and a closed position by a door guiding track comprised of a left channel facing a right channel across a door opening. The door is slidably positioned in the door guiding track by having a left end of each panel section extending into the left channel and a right end of each panel section extending into the right channel.

  • Patent number: 5533561
Abstract: A garage door-opener security system which automatically positively blocks any unauthorized opening of a sectional garage door that travels, guided by rollers, in a pair of flanking metal guide tracks. The security system is interconnected with a standard, automatic, garage door-opening mechanism that includes an electric drive motor. When the door reaches its fully closed position, a locking device, mounted adjacent one of the flanking tracks, physically inserts a locking pin into the trackway in which the rollers move, which pin is located a few inches above the roller next below. The locking pin is closely confined by a surrounding aperture which prevents its upward deflection or twisting, thus making it impossible for the roller to move therepast in the trackway and positively preventing the raising of the door more than a few inches.

The beam members are connected to the seal plate in such a manner as to be parallel to each other along a reference line for connection, extending in the widthwise direction of the seal plate, and advance or retreat while flexing along a guide member (7) having at least one bending portion (71). The guide member extends between a closing position (A) disposed in front of the opening portion and a storage position (B) disposed on an outer housing of the pressure vessel, so that the assembly can be housed in a relatively small space. This shutter is most suitable for use on a medical autoclave and a retort for food processing.

  • Patent number: 5282663
Abstract: A retracting system for flexible side walls utilized for cargo vehicles wherein the flexible side wall is attached at one end to a slidable door used to extend and retract the flexible side wall. This system provides a narrow slidable door connected to a system of pulleys and cables that maintain the slidable door perpendicular to the floor and roof of the vehicle during horizontal movement of the slidable door for closing or opening the open side of a cargo carrying vehicle. The system can incorporate a reversible motor to propel the system and move the slidable door without a pushing or pulling force rom a human operator. The slidable door is suspended from a track at the top edge of the door keeping the slidable door in alignment and decreasing rolling resistance.

Abstract: Novel angled flag brackets for use with tracks for sectional overhead garage doors are disclosed. The novel angled flag brackets of the present invention are uniquely designed to permit the vertical and horizontal tracks to be uniquely adjusted in both vertical and horizontal directions at the time of assembly and installation so that the assembled and installed tracks will be plumb, level or square. The novel angled flag brackets further permit end bearing plates of torsion spring systems to be directly mounted thereto when door jambs are too short so that the end bearing plates will not remain free-standing following installation.

  • Patent number: 5238283
Abstract: An articulated door and door guiding track covers storage bays of a beverage body. An articulated door is formed by engaging a plurality of polymeric panel sections into a sequence such that each panel section can be positioned at varying angles with respect to an adjacent engaged panel section. The articulated door is guided between an open position and a closed position by a door guiding track comprised of a left channel facing a right channel across a door opening. The sequence of panel sections is slidably positioned in the door guiding track by having a left end of each panel section extending into the left channel and a right end of each panel section extending into the right channel.

  • Patent number: 5207259
Abstract: The invention provides a roll-up door for operation with a pre-tensioned balancer and having fastening apparatus comprising a cable with fasteners, one on each end, and which is coupled to the door at first and second positions spaced substantially equally from respective sides of the door. The balancer has a clip located centrally with respect to the first and second positions so that as the cable is positioned on the balancer during initial installation, the cable can adjust in the clip so that the lengths of the cable from the balancer to the door are equalized. The cable is wound onto the balancer as the door is opened. This winding creates sufficient friction between the cables and the balancer to lock the cables to the balancer so that the cables effectively retain their equal lengths during use.

  • Patent number: 5172744
Abstract: A roll-up or curtain type door is disclosed which is for use in large doorways, the door having an improved support apparatus, an improved spring mounting mechanism, and a unique bearing block which also functions to support the door as it is rolled up. The roll-up door has a substantially stronger hollow hexagonal barrel assembly which is less susceptible to flexural stress, and a spring mounting arrangement which allows the springs to shrink or grow longitudinally as the door is rolled up or down. The barrel assembly is mounted on pivoting support means allowing the barrel assembly to move away from and toward the guide tracks as the door is rolled up and down, whereby the variation in diameter of the barrel assembly does not affect the performance of the door.
