With Means To Fasten The Hand Luggage In Closed Condition Patents (Class 190/119)
  • Patent number: 4693344
Abstract: A foldable carry bag generally includes a flexible outer shell, foldable along a centerline thereof, to enable the bag to be opened to provide easy accessibility to compartments therein which are defined by flexible flaps attached to the outer shell and removably attached by zippers to flexible strips attached to end pieces of the carry bag. The bag is foldable to a flat configuration for storage and has the advantage of providing separate compartments within the bag which are easily accessible for packing and unpacking clothes, as well as arrangement of clothes or articles therein, while at the same time maintaining the lightweight and inexpensive features of conventional carry bags.

  • Patent number: 4685560
Abstract: Garment bags often include a door hook depending from the strap at one end of the bag to hold the bag in an extended linear condition while suspended from the top edge of a door or the like. It has been known to use this hook and strap combination to hold the garment bag in a closed or suitcase configuration. While such closure systems have been somewhat effective, such systems have been known to inadvertently release the door hook. Such closure systems have had substantial aesthetic and manufacturing problems. The disclosed closure system includes a door hook retainer loop patch which is simple to manufacture and forms an interesting and pleasing design element of the overall bag. This patch comprises a rectangular patch base fixedly attached to one end of the garment bag. This patch base has a length of webbing passing in a sinuous path through a series of aligned slots to present an aligned series of equal sized and spaced hook retaining loops.

  • Patent number: 4677832
Abstract: Latching system hardware for luggage articles such as attache cases and the like includes an elongated latch console for attachment interiorly to one section of the article, an actuator assembly for manually operating the console latches, and a lock assembly for selectively locking the latches. The hardware can be assembled in different configurations and operating modes and the console can be used with different types of lock and actuator assemblies so that diverse latching systems can be developed from the same basic console components.

  • Patent number: 4643302
Abstract: A container is for elongated playing devices and associated game items. It provides protection during storage, handling, and shipping by freight carriers against damage and it offers resistance to theft. Principal parts of the container are made of a plastic material. Its cavity is formed in one or more standardized tubular extrusions to which molded end caps are affixed. Accessories provide for hand and shoulder carrying and lockable hardware secures the cavity. Access to the container cavity is by removal of lockable end caps and in certain embodiments by separation at the unions between two or more tubular sections. The manufacture of the container is adaptable to the requirements of a multiplicity of sports and games.

  • Patent number: 4643281
Abstract: A carrying case such as an attache case or the like, in which one of its panels is foldable to provide access to its interior without having to open the entire panel. A clamp means secured to the side of the case swivels between two positions, one to hold the panel rigid and prevent it from folding, and the other to hold one portion of the panel closed and permit the other portion to fold open. The carrying case according to the present invention permits access to the interior of the case without having to open the case entirely, thereby significantly increasing its versatility over a standard carrying case.

  • Patent number: 4576307
Abstract: A molded plastic container has first and second portions which are relatively movable between open and closed configurations; and the two portions have first edges which are juxtaposed when the portions are closed. A T-shaped rail is fixed to the first edge of one of the container portions, and the rail extends along said edge for a significant length--except for a location where it is interrupted by two adjacent gaps. A pair of posts are fixed to the first edge of the second container portion, and the posts are positioned so as to be insertable into the two rail gaps when the two container portions are in their closed configuration. The posts have a transverse configuration which matches the transverse configuration of the rail, so that the posts may be described as forming geometric extensions of the rail when the two container portions are closed. A slide has an interiorly facing opening which is sized for engaging the rail and for being captured thereby.

  • Patent number: 4480774
Abstract: The crossbow carrying case includes opposed based and cover sections having a generally triangular shape and interconnected along one edge to permit movement of the cover section between an open position and a closed position wherein the cover and base sections are in facing relationship and cooperate to define a compartment for receiving an assembled crossbow ready for use. When in the closed position, the base and cover sections are releasably fastened together along the other two edges by a zipper or the like. The crossbow is releasably held in place inside the compartment by a pair of longitudinally spaced tie down straps secured to the inner surface of the base section at locations corresponding to the narrowed hand grip portion of the crossbow stock and the area immediately forward of the forehand grip of the crossbow stock.
