Abstract: In a method for high-speed electrolytic-deposition of metallic layers on ribbon or cord-like strips, the strips which are electrically connected to the negative side of an electric DC power source are moved through a hollow guide rail containing an electrolyte solution and past an anode structure arranged within the hollow guide rail and connected to the positive side of the DC power source. An electrolyte solution circulating conduit structure including a circulating pump is connected to opposite ends of the guide rail and, while the metal is deposited on the strip which is moved through the guide rail in one direction, the electrolyte solution is circulated through the guide rail in the opposite direction at a speed which provides for a Reynolds No. of over 80,000 with regard to the relative strip speed in the electrolyte solution so as to provide turbulent flow conditions adjacent the strip surface which greatly increase the electrolyte deposition rates.

Abstract: This invention relates to an electro-plating device which is suitable for plating minute portions on protruding tip ends of a connector terminal. This invention device uses a plating solution supplying member in the form of a thin box which is erected upon a plating solution supplying box and which has a thickness small enough to be inserted between opposing plating areas. The plating areas are a pair of protruding tip ends of the connector terminal which move in contact with or near the supplying member. The plating solution supplying member comprises a combination of a supporting member made of an insulating sheet having a vertical section substantially shaped like an inverted letter U and a plating solution retaining member of a net or porous sheet which is supported by the supporting member to drape over the outer surfaces thereof.

  • Patent number: 4677270
Abstract: A spark erosion machine having two spaced apart wire electrode guidance heads, which are forcibly coupled with one another in such a way that the guidance heads are always coaxial to one another. The forced coupling takes place by a hydraulic system that includes adjusting cylinders for the guidance heads and associated control cylinders. The piston rods of the adjusting cylinders are coupled to one another. By the use of hydraulic circuits, a displacement of the piston rods of the control cylinders leads to a corresponding displacement of the piston rods of the associated adjusting cylinders, so that the orientation of both wire guidance heads is always the same. As a result of this hydraulic system, there is no need to couple the upper and lower wire guidance heads by a mechanical linkage, so that the working zone between the heads and the lateral area for the workpiece connected thereto can be of a random magnitude.
