  • Publication number: 20120261937
Abstract: An opening and closing mechanism for a lid of a storage receptacle provided on a vehicle comprises a push button, a button pin and a lid linkage. The push button includes a first slider having an inclined face at a rear end thereof. The button pin includes a second slider having a first inclined face cooperating with the inclined face of the first slider. The first inclined face is spaced from a rear end of the second slider. The second slider is biased to contact the first slider. The lid linkage has a first end selectively engaged by the rear end of the second slider and a second end for selectively locking the lid in a closed state. The lid linkage is biased toward the second slider. Engagement of the push button with the button pin moves the second slider, which, in turn, allows the lid linkage to move toward the second slider to unlock the storage receptacle lid.

  • Patent number: 7614519
Abstract: A sealing push-button lid for consumer wipes is disclosed. The lid may be used to seal a package of wipes for infant care, and may also be used for sealing and dispensing of one-at-a-time wipes for general cleaning purposes. The lid makes it easy for a busy person to use a single hand to pop open the lid in order to grasp and dispense the next wipe in a series of Z-folded wipes or inner-folded wipes in a preferably soft and flexible container. Containers with the push button lid may also be used with wipes that are folded in other ways. The lid is formed as one piece or two pieces, the pieces joined by a hinge that allows movement of the lid top with respect to the lid bottom. The lid is designed for easy joining and sealing to a container, preferably by a bead of hot melt adhesive or adhesive strips.

Abstract: A system of moving magnets for sealing a container may include a plurality of moveable magnets disposed near a perimeter of a container door and a rotatable linkage hub positioned within the perimeter of the container door. In addition, the system may include a plurality of control linkages connecting each of the plurality of moveable magnets to the linkage hub so that rotating the linkage hub causes the control linkages to move the moveable magnets between a sealed position and an open position. Alternatively, the moveable magnets may be connected to each other by a magnet positioning mechanism to physically move the magnets along a path near the perimeter. A plurality of static magnets may be disposed near an opening sized to receive the container door and positioned to form a magnetic seal with the moveable magnets when the moveable magnets are positioned at the sealed position.

  • Patent number: 7513380
Abstract: A self closing container having inner and outer sleeves. Outer sleeve surrounds inner sleeve and can freely slide on inner sleeve by lifting outer sleeve or handle. When container is closed, lid covers magnets, mouth magnets, mouth magnet platform, and mouth platform. When closed, bar magnet component is positioned over mouth magnets which permits mouth cover to cover mouth. When outer sleeve is raised, it raises ring in lid. In raised position, lid cover magnets on ring are repelled by corresponding magnets on lid cover. When ring is raised, mouth magnet platforms are raised. Mouth magnet platforms have two mouth magnets, one positioned toward mouth and one positioned toward back of the lid. When raised, mouth cover is moved backward to an open position with the use of the bar magnet component. When handle or outer sleeve is released all components return to their original positions effectively closing the container.
