Elongated Members (e.g., Leaf Spring, Radiating Arms) Acting Between Face Of Closure And Opposed Abutments Or Walls Of The Container Patents (Class 220/323)
  • Patent number: 3959578
Abstract: An electrical lighting fixture is provided. The fixture comprises a housing containing conventional electrical components therein. The housing has front and rear surfaces and walls extending between the surfaces. At least one cable opening extends through the wall and a plate is positioned within the housing abutting the wall. The plate includes a main body portion and a plug extending outwardly from the body portion. The plug is dimensioned to fit in and fill the opening. Clip means within the housing secure the plate in position. The plate is further provided with lugs on opposite sides of the plug which engage guide holes in the wall on opposite sides of the cable opening. The housing is formed of a cast metal with the cable opening and guide openings integrally formed with the housing.

  • Patent number: 3955707
Abstract: A reusable closure for containers having an opening in a surface thereof. A seal of size and shape sufficient to cover the opening in the container and having a bore therethrough is positioned such that the bore generally is aligned with a portion of the opening including opposed edges thereof. A threaded cap has a diameter less than that of the bore, whereby threaded engagement between the cap and opposed edges of the opening is achieved. Tightening the cap holds the seal firmly in place, thereby maintaining a positive closure of the opening. The seal may abut a lip of the container thereby restricting lateral movement of the cap. The seal and the threaded cap may be separate elements or of integral construction. The invention is particularly suited for use in containers having a convenience opening known as pop-top cans.

  • Patent number: 3944107
Abstract: A plug or closure for closing and substantially sealing an aperture in a vehicle body panel. The plug comprises a plate portion and a resilient spring element carrying a plurality of resilient snap-engaging legs. The plate portion and the spring are separate and can be formed from different materials. The plate portion has an undersurface and one or more bosses in the undersurface defining a plurality of side walls. The spring has a body integral with the legs defining a plurality of edges and the spring is attached to the plate by forcing the body of the spring between or over the bosses or boss respectively so that the edges of the body of the spring frictionally engage the side walls of the boss or bosses. The plug may be provided with a ring of sealing material on the periphery of the undersurface of the plate.
