  • Patent number: 5348193
Abstract: An aerosol dispenser comprises a body having an interior for holding an aerosol can. The body has a bottom portion with an opening therein that permits the insertion of the can into the interior in a first direction. A fastening end piece located on the bottom portion of the body holds the aerosol can within the interior and engages the body in a direction substantially orthogonal to the first direction of can insertion. In addition, the aerosol can may be inserted in a direction substantially parallel with the major axis of the body, the fastening end piece may have a lug which protrudes into the interior of the body when the fastening end piece has engaged the body, and the fastening end piece may engage the body by sliding into place. In one particular aspect, the aerosol dispenser is used for discharging a chemical repellant, such as tear gas.

  • Patent number: 5312013
Abstract: A beverage container for use in a holder having an outer wall and an inner wall which form a space therebetween for receiving the base of the beverage container. The base of the beverage container includes a substantially vertical surface disposed inwardly from the container outer surface and extending upwardly from the container lower surface. When the beverage container is within the holder it is easily removed therefrom in a vertical direction without frictional resistance. When the beverage container is tipped within the holder, however, it is wedged between the inner and outer walls of the holder and thus prevents the contents from spilling.

  • Patent number: 5148682
Abstract: This dislcosure is directed to a device and method for forming ice around a beverage container such as a bottle of liquor. An upper piece preferably shaped like the beverage container and hollow is connected to a lower base piece after inverting the hollow upper piece and after inserting both the beverage container and water surrounding the beverage container within the upper hollow piece. Freezing of the combined upper and lower pieces after reversing the pieces to an upright position with the upper piece on top causes ice to form around the beverage container.
