Abstract: An exemplary system includes a first electric motor and a second electric motor, which are coupled mechanically to one another via a common string of the system. The string has a torsional natural oscillation at a natural frequency. A first oscillating torque acts on the string by the first electric motor and a second oscillating torque acts on the string by the second electric motor. The second electric motor is arranged with respect to the first electric motor such that the effect of the second oscillating torque on the string results in damping of the excitation of the natural oscillation owing to the first oscillating torque.

Abstract: A cooking pan assembly includes a container for receiving food to be cooked. The container includes a bottom wall and a perimeter wall. The perimeter wall has an upper edge defining an opening into the container. A handle has a first end and a second end. A coupler releasably couples the first end to the perimeter wall adjacent to the upper edge. The coupler includes first mating member non-removably attached to the perimeter wall and a second mating member non-removably attached to the first end of the handle. The second mating member is releasably engaged to the first mating member.

Abstract: Carrying aids may be used with containers that include a wire bail pivotably attached to the container. The carrying aids may include a body configured to engage the bail and be grasped by a grasping hand to suspend the container in a first position. The body may be configured to transfer a torque from a grasping hand to the bail. The torque may pivot the bail relative to the container while lifting the container relative to a grasping hand from the first position to a second position above the first position. In some examples, the bail, with the body mounted thereon, may be pivoted down proximate the sidewall of the container such that the body engages a thumb of a grasping hand and presses the hand against the sidewall to stabilize and support the container relative to the grasping hand.

Abstract: There is provided a device for fastening a connecting member to a handle of a cooking vessel; the connecting member has a collar portion having an inner cavity into which a connecting portion of the handle is inserted; the collar portion is bounded by a lateral wall closed into a loop by means of two opposite end tabs joined to each other and defining at least one preassembly tooth cooperating with a seat formed in the connecting portion; and the connecting member has a fastening member, which is pressed and permanently deformed inside a recess on the connecting portion to secure the connecting portion inside the cavity.

Abstract: The invention includes a method of using a cap containing an internal thread form matching an external thread form on a flexible throat for a collapsible tube enclosing at least one contained product. Twisting the cap engages the internal thread form and the external thread form. These collectively urge the cap and the flexible throat to seal the contained product into the collapsible tube. Deforming the flexible throat through squeezing the collapsible tube dispenses essentially all the product. The collapsible tube may preferably include an external thread form on a flexible throat coupled to a flexible shoulder. The external thread form mates to a cap with an internal thread form urging the flexible throat to seal against the cap when the cap is twisted onto the flexible throat. The flexible throat and flexible shoulder flatten to dispense essentially all of the product.

Abstract: A one-piece, molded plastic container (10) comprises a base (16) and a circumferential sidewall (20) extending upwardly from the base. The upper end (18) of the sidewall forms an open top of the container which is closed by a lid (19). A bail (14) for lifting and carrying the container is integrally molded with the container body in a mold (100). The ends of the bail attach to bosses (22a, 22b) integrally molded therewith into the container sidewall. The spacing of the bosses is less than 180° in one direction about the circumference of the container, so the container, when lifted by the bail, does not hang vertically. A base section (14b) of the bail has a substantially uniform thickness throughout the length of the bail.

Abstract: A tool box is formed with two counter bores, and includes a handle formed with headed latches. Each of the counter bores has an upper enlarged section and a lower constricted section confined by an inward flange. Each of the headed latches includes an enlarged head received in the enlarged section of the respective counter bore, and a bifurcated shank having a pair of elastic legs that are respectively formed with barbed ends, and extending through the constricted section of the respective counter bore such that the flange is sandwiched between the enlarged head and the barbed ends of the elastic legs.

Abstract: A plastic ear collar (10) for a can (30) which has a top circumferential channel (33) defining an outer projecting ledge (34) is disclosed. The collar (10) comprises a circumferential ring (11) having a diameter which is selected to pressingly engage a side wall (31) of a can (30) about the outer projecting ledge (34) thereof. A pair of bail holes (9) are integrally formed with the ring (11), each of the bail holes (9) being diametrically disposed on a respective side of the ring (11).

Abstract: A paint tray having storable carrying handles. The paint tray is of generally standard configuration, having a ramped bottom surface leading toward a more rectangular reservoir area. The non-uniform distribution of paint in the tray typically makes it difficult to carry or maneuver. Accordingly, a pair of handles is pivotally mounted to the paint tray, one near the front end and another near the rear end of the tray. The handles may be rotated into interlocking engagement above the paint tray in a transporting position, or may be rotated and slid into engagement with respective ends of the tray in a storage position.

Abstract: A container for one-handed transport and pouring of contents therefrom includes a vessel having an outlet with first and second handle assemblies pivotally mounted to the sides of the vessel. A first handle assembly includes a wire band having first and second ends pivotally mounted to opposed sides of the vessel at points forward of an imaginary vertical plane bisecting the vessel. An offset portion of the handle presents a grip displaced from the arcuate extent of the band. A second handle assembly includes a wire band having first and second ends pivotally mounted to opposed sides of the vessel and along the imaginary vertical plane. The band presents first and second loops about the legs of the offset portion of the first handle with the grip extending therebetween. In the normal transport position the grips of the handle are displaced one from the other.

Abstract: A container having walls and a handle attached to the exterior of the container is disclosed. The container has handle receiving means in the form of a keyhole-shaped slot spaced apart from the wall of the container by a distance sufficient to accommodate a flange on the end of the handle. The keyhole-shaped slot has an orifice connected to a tapered slot which is open at the end opposed to the orifice. A shaft located at the end of the handle at each of its opposed ends has two spaced-apart flanges thereon. The shaft and the keyhole cooperatively act for insertion of the shaft into the orifice of the keyhole. At least one of the flanges attached to the handle is sectioned to form an edge in the shape of a hook. During insertion of the handle onto the container, the hook contacts a fulcrum located juxtaposed to the tapered slot of the keyhole which acts as a lever to snap the handle onto the container.

Abstract: A jug or container is provided with a buckle and strap assembly which is removably attached to the jug. The jug includes an outer wall with a pair of recesses and a pair of upper and lower attaching lugs within each recess. A buckle is removably attached to each pair of lugs. Each buckle includes an elongated body with upper and lower latches which engage the attaching lugs. Three transverse slots are provided in the body between the latches. A strap is adjustably secured to the buckle by passing through the upper slot, the middle slot, the lower slot, and back through the upper slot.

Abstract: A ladder caddy (10) includes a rigid tray (12) and a ladder-engaging handle (14)which together define a generally rectangular mounting opening (80) positioned laterally adjacent a mounting side (38) of the tray. The mounting opening is of a size and shape for receiving therein an apex portion (82) and portions of leg pairs (86, 88) of an A-frame ladder (84) when the legs are in a separated, deployed configuration, but sufficiently small that the ladder-engaging handle and the rigid tray contact the separated leg pairs of the ladder near the apex portion whereby the ladder caddy remains mounted on the A-frame ladder. The ladder-engaging handle comprises two follower arms (54a and b) which are slidably engaged in track slots (48a and b) of the rigid tray. The ladder-engaging handle also includes an outer member, or yoke bar, (60) which is rotatably attached to the follower arms and which can be rotated to change the size of the mounting opening.

Abstract: A container bail incorporates securement means cooperative with retaining means on a container, said securement means having a head receivable in a receptor opening in the retaining means which is of totally different size and configuration from the receptor opening in the securement means which creates an interference fit materially reducing the likelihood of inadvertent dislodgement of the securement means from the retaining means. The bail also incorporates flexibility at critical points which augments the tendency of the retaining means to remain operatively associated with the securement means.
