Abstract: The present invention is directed to cups, containers, and sleeves therefore having a living hinge and a dual seal structure on the lid such that the seal created by the contact of the lid with the inside of the cup or container ensures a secure, friction fit orientation to prevent spillage or leakage of the contents therein. The dual seal is created by a first component on the lip of the lid that extends down from the top of the lid and is substantial in shape with a rib on the bottom edge of the lip and the circumference of the lip that is of the same size and shape as the inner circumference of the cup or container such that a secure seal is created when closed. The cups and containers also have an inner concentric structure that follows the shape of the cup or container just above the base to offer stabilization, and ease of stacking, removal, and manufacture.

Abstract: A suspension packaging system can include a foldable member configured to form a cavity as well as a suspension device for suspending an article to be packaged within the cavity. The suspension portion can include foldable portions configured to cooperate with a retention member having pockets. The foldable portions can fit into the pockets and then be folded so as to generate tension in the retention member. The entire device, with the exception of the retention member, can be made from a single piece of material, such as corrugated cardboard, which thus reduces waste and simplifies bulk distribution of such a suspension packaging system.

Abstract: A container and a blank for making it. The container is constructed from a single sheet of foldable material and has a bottom wall, a top wall, first and second front wall panels, a back wall, and side flaps extending from opposite ends of the bottom, top, and back walls, and from the first and second front wall panels. The top wall is secured to the container by a tear-out panel extending from the top wall into the back wall and by frangible side flap portions in the side walls, whereby the tear-out panel may be grasped and lifted to lift the top wall and break the frangible side flap portions, completely freeing the top wall from the container by the single step of grasping and tearing out and lifting the tear-out panel to pivot the top upwardly. A blank and method of assembling and erecting the blank to form the container also are disclosed.

Abstract: A carton for holding a food product can comprise a tray and a lid. The lid can cooperate with the tray to at least partially close the carton. The carton further can comprise a hinge at least partially foldably connecting the lid and the tray. The hinge can comprise a first hinge fold line, a second hinge fold line, and a cut extending between the first hinge fold line and the second hinge fold line. The first hinge fold line and the second hinge fold line are generally aligned along a hinge axis, and the cut comprises a central portion that is generally parallel to the hinge axis and is offset from the hinge axis. Portions of a side panel of the tray are foldably connected to respective portions of a side panel of the lid along the respective first and second hinge fold lines.

Abstract: A compressible package having pair of scored sidewalls, which facilitate compression of the package into a wedge shape for storage in narrow recesses. Optionally, the compressible package may include a scored bottom flap wherein the bottom portion of the sidewalls and the bottom flap are shaped such that when the carton is compressed by a user the resulting shape of the bottom flap compliments the shape of the sidewalls, maintaining a substantially closed carton. Preferably the compressible package is a carton for storing and dispensing tissue and the carton assumes a wedge shape, which allows the carton to be fit into tight spaces, such as between the seat and the center console of the automobile while maintaining a substantially closed carton.
