The carton (90) includes a weakened line of severance (30a, 30b, 34a, 34b, 49a, 49b, 69a, 69b, 129a, 129b, 229a, 229b) which extends from the first panel across the overlapping region and into the second panel to be contiguous. The first panel includes a recess (R) defined at least in part in the overlapping region and extending at least partially across a portion of the first panel in the overlapping region. The recess (R) is arranged in registry with at least a portion of the weakened line of severance in the second panel.

Abstract: The various embodiments of the present invention comprise a single blank design for a recyclable food container, which includes a majority recyclable portion and a detachable product support pad portion. Once the blank is erected, the detachable product support pad forms the base of the food container and may bear the weight of food product, such as pizza. After use by a consumer, the soiled detachable product support pad may be detached and discarded, thus allowing the remainder of the food container to be recycled. The detachable product support pad also protects the other parts of the food container from grease or other food by-products, thus encouraging recyclability.

Abstract: A box for a quantity of loose objects is provided with a dispensing opening that inhibits and preferably prevents objects from becoming caught within the box in the process of being dispensed. The box comprises walls enclosing a chamber for carrying a quantity of loose objects. A tab is defined, preferably by a weakening line, in a first wall of the box, such that the tab forms a flap when the weakening line is broken or the tab is otherwise separated from the first wall. Then the flap is hingedly attached to the first wall of the box by the aid of an attachment line between the ends of the weakening line. The flap is then pivotable into the chamber of the box after the weakening line has been broken. The tab has a breadth in a direction substantially parallel to the attachment line and a height in a direction substantially perpendicular to the attachment line.

The carton also includes an information tab defined in a first surface of the top portion. The information tab is defined via series of perforated edges. An information tab cover on the carton is defined by a series of perforated edges that enable at least partial separation of the information tab from the carton. When the carton is in an unassembled configuration, a surface of the information tab is exposed to enable placement of information on the information tab. When the carton is in an assembled configuration the information tab cover covers the surface of the information tab so that the information placed on the information tab is not visible.

Abstract: A packaging container, adapted to be cut to establish a display container for products stored therein, is formed with corner slits having a primary slit portion extending around a respective corner of the container, as well as secondary slit portions which extend at non-linear angles to the primary slit portion. Between the corner slits, the container can be provided with cut lines to act as a guide for a cutting instrument used to separate the container into top and bottom sections, with the bottom section establishing the display container. With the inclusion of the corner slits, the cutting instrument need not make any cuts through the corners. In addition, cuts made between the corner slits need not be perfectly aligned between respective primary slit portions due to the existence of the secondary slit portions.

The overlay member has a central, generally planar panel positioned atop the top ends of the beverage containers and a number of perimeter panels each joined to and positioned on a perimeter of the central panel. A dispenser opening is in the central panel of the overlay member through the beverage containers may be removed from the package. A dispenser flap is adjacent the dispenser opening and a perimeter edge of the overlay member. The dispenser flap may be pulled outwardly from the overlay member by a user to provide access through which the beverage containers may be removed from the package. An overwrap member such as a thermoplastic shrink wrap film envelops the array of beverage containers and the overlay member to provide a robust, unitary package for transport and storage.

Abstract: A carton capable of containing a plurality of food items is disclosed. The carton can be separated into two portions or trays, each of which can be converted into a tray for heating a food item in a microwave oven. One or both of the trays may be designed to elevate the food product from the turntable or floor of the microwave oven to enhance the efficiency of the heating process. One or both trays may include a microwave energy interactive to enhance browning and/or crisping of the food item.

Abstract: A container of the present invention is designed for shipping and holding various items. The container is formed from a blank of a material, such as corrugated material, plastic, paperboard, etc. and includes side panels extending between a top portion and a bottom portion. A tear line extends around the side panels for disengaging the top portion from the container thereby exposing all of the items extending along the side panels. An improved configuration of the perforations or slits along the tear line prevents the corners defined between the side panels from being damaged and deformed and provides for smooth tearing of the tear line from the container. A second tear section is defined in the a portion of the container by a perforation line with the tear section being separable from the top portion thereby partially exposing the items contained in the container.

Abstract: Wraparound style packaging and shipping containers are provided, having structures configured for facilitating the conversion of the shipping containers into dispensing or all-around display containers. The shipping containers are preferably fabricated from an outer blank having a centrally positioned bottom wall, with front and rear walls emanating from front and rear edges of the bottom wall, respectively. Inner reinforcement panels may be provided for one or more of the end panels. The containers may incorporate lids formed from separate blanks, or lids formed from integral top panels of the wraparound blanks. Side flaps emanate from the bottom wall, the front and rear walls, and the top panels (if present), to provide at least partial coverage of the sides of the container.

Abstract: A wrapped package carries a transparent overwrap material and a tear tape attached to the overwrap material for effecting tearing of the overwrap material. The tear tape has a layer of adhesive on one side of the tape substrate for adhesion to the overwrap material and a layer of ink arranged to provide visible markings for the tear tape. The ink is applied on the side of the adhesive which is remote from the tape so that when the tear tape is attached to the overwrap material by the adhesive, the second surface of the adhesive and the layer of ink thereon are in contact with the overwrap material and the markings are visible through the transparent overwrap material without viewing through the adhesive and without viewing through the tape.

Abstract: A fold-up container for holding and incinerating disposable syringes is comprised of a base panel, a top panel, and a plurality of side panels hingeably connected to one another along a plurality of fold lines to define a closed container having an internal chamber dimensioned to receive one or more disposable syringes. An access opening into the chamber is formed by a peripheral weakened line defining a tear strip, the weakened line being located in at least one of the side panels and extending into a portion of the top panel. The carton is formed of a corrugated paper-based fluting having an inner metal foil layer secured to one side of the fluting and outer paper-based layer secured to the opposite side fluting. The container resists puncturing by a syringe and maintains sufficient structural integrity to facilitate destruction of syringes by internal burning before the container itself is destroyed by burning.
