Abstract: A releasable retaining clip comprising a locking head defining a passageway that extends from an entry point on the locking head to an exit point on the locking head. A pivotable locking member extends from the locking head into the passageway between the entry point and the exit point. The locking member is pivotable between a first blocking and locking position, to an unlocked position. A strap portion extends outward from the locking head, adjacent the entry point of the passageway. The strap portion includes a head end connected to the locking head, a tail end spaced from the head end, and a strap body that extends from the tail end to the head end. A locking seat is formed into the strap body for receiving the locking member when the tail end of the strap portion and the strap body of the strap portion are urged through the entry point into the passageway.

Abstract: A latch system for attaching a child seat to an anchorage of a vehicle seat includes a first latch device connected to a first end of a length of webbing, an adjuster connected to a second end of the length of webbing, and a second latch device. The adjuster has a plate member extending from one end, and the plate member has a connection opening formed therein. The second latch device includes a main member having a hook formed at a first end and a connection aperture at a second end that is distal from the first end. A portion of the second end of the main member passes through the connection opening, and a portion of the plate member passes through the connection aperture.

Abstract: An adjustable strap is provided having two loops of different lengths at each end, and a tensioning mechanism on the strap for adjusting the length and tension of the overall strap. S-hooks are placed on each of the short loops with an open but closable receiving hook positioned to hook the longer loop when the latter is routed back to the short loop. For dock and boat cleats having two legs and an opening, the long loop is adapted such that it can loop the cleat generally and then have the loop end threaded through the cleat on return to the short loop where it is hooked. A closed-biased member on the S-hook can be manipulated to allow later detachment. The short and long loops are configured to lie in parallel planes such that the strap may be used in a single loop configuration and have a flat side profile.

Abstract: A positioning device of a freight rope fixture includes a metallic plate, an urging seat, a torsion spring, and an insertion pin. The urging seat is pivotally mounted between the two opposite wings of the metallic plate and has a first end formed with an urging portion, and a second end formed with a press portion. The torsion spring may force the urging portion of the urging seat to rest on the bent hook portion of the metallic plate. Thus, the torsion spring may force the urging portion of the urging seat to rest on the side plate of the freight truck, thereby achieving a previous locking and positioning effect, so that the rope may be used to bind the freight easily.

Abstract: An article securing strap assembly for attaching an article to a supporting structure, comprising an adjustable-length article-engaging strap and an adjustable-length article-holding strap. The article-engaging strap includes a releasable connector for selectively configuring the strap between a closed loop configuration for engaging the strap around an article, such as a golf bag, and an open loop configuration for disengaging the strap therefrom, a D-ring slidably supported by the strap, and a length adjustment device. The article-holding strap has a first end provided with a first releasable fastener, a second end provided with a second releasable fastener, a length adjustment device, and a D-ring slidably supported by the strap. The first releasable fastener is releasably attached to the D-ring of the article-engaging strap, while the second releasable fastener is provided for releasably attaching the article-holding strap to the supporting structure, such as a golf cart.

Abstract: A bungee cord with hookless ends includes an elastic body, a first attachment end, and a second attachment end. In a first preferred embodiment, the first and second attachment ends are spade attachment ends. Each spade attachment end includes a lock body, spade end and at least one lock slot. The spade end must be twisted to be inserted into the lock slot. The spade end is then twisted back to its original orientation to lock thereof in the lock slot. In a second embodiment, the first attachment end is a spade attachment end and the second attachment end is a tongue attachment end. The tongue attachment end includes a tongue body, a tongue hole, and a tongue extension. To lock the tongue attachment end, the tongue extension is inserted through a hole in an item until the spade contoured portion prevents further insertion. The tongue extension is then inserted through the tongue hole.

Abstract: A pillow securing device for releasably holding a pillow in position on an elevated surface comprising a plurality of straps with one end attached to a connector ring and a clasp secured to the other end of each of the straps so that in use at least one of the straps is secured by means of the clasp to the pillow and at least one of the straps is secured by means of the clasp to the elevated surface. The straps may have varying lengths and adjustment means.

Abstract: A seatbelt assembly with a buckle has male and female mating parts, in which the male part includes features to prevent disengagement operation by a child. The child resistant features include added ribs, webbing in the form of flanges or struts, or barbs or prongs that increase the difficulty for disengaging the buckle. The female part can have an arcuate outer surface to increase the overall durability of the buckle and resist damaging external forces or damaging misuse. The female part can also be provided with lateral shoulders to make the female part harder to withdraw and thus more child resistant. The seatbelt assembly with the child resistant buckle can be operated easily by an adult, while remaining secure from disengagement by a typical child.

Abstract: A rational and economical strap and a strap attaching structure are provided which allow a hand strap and a neck strap to be attached in a non-independent manner and provide superior working efficiency. A hand strap has engagement portions at ends thereof which can engage with corresponding anchorage portions provided on the apparatus, and each engagement portion has an attaching portion to which a corresponding end portion on a neck strap is attached.

A bracket is fixed generally tangentially to a generally cylindrically shaped whistle chamber portion of the whistle and has openings therethrough to receive a flexible strap that facilitates mounting of the whistle on one's hand, wrist or forearm, or on a bulky glove or the like with a mouthpiece portion of the whistle extending outwardly for convenient access for blowing. The strap defines a plurality of transverse ridges along its length that cooperate with the bracket to substantially prevent movement of the whistle along the strap when the strap is in a longitudinally taut condition.

The tie-downs for a table umbrella include a plurality of rigid elongate members which are essentially made of stiff wire with each having a first hook-like end and a second hook-like end both of which are adapted to attach to a table and an umbrella; and also includes a plurality of coupling members each of which is essentially a flat, rigid strip-like piece having a plurality of holes spaced therealong for coupling a respective pair of elongate members one of which is attached to the table and the other of which is attached to the umbrella.

Abstract: A method and apparatus by which to repair a damaged portion of a net utilized to restrain movement. Attachment hooks or other hardware, constructed of a material, such as aluminum or steel, of a strength equal to or greater than the net material are secured to the ends of an appropriately sized rope or other material, constituting a bridging device. The attachment hooks or other hardware are constructed of a thickness, and with a radius interface, so that cutting of the net will not occur. The damaged area of the net is isolated, and the net repair bridge is affixed in the position of the damaged area, thereby replacing it and preserving the structural and functional capabilities of the containment net.

Abstract: A temporary hold-up device for a snowboard support while riding a chairlift including a substantially stiff cord of limited give, at a first end of which a releasable clasp is provided to encircle the restraint bar of the chairlift, while at a second opposite end of which a hook is provided to couple to a rear binding of one of the front and back foot mountings of the snowboard, and by which the restraint bar serves to hold and restrain the snowboard against flapping about while the riding is pulled up the lift.

Abstract: The disclosed invention is a protective device for use in combination with an elastic strap. Such straps commonly have hooks or other fasteners mounted on ends of the strap. When stretched and then released, these fasteners may become dangerous projectiles. In order to limit the rate of retraction or recoil of such elastic straps, the present invention discloses tethering the fastener end to the user's arm and/or retarding the motion of the strap with a sheath. In addition, the disclosure demonstrates a shielding apparatus to prevent direct contact with the fastening device or hook.

Abstract: A bungee cord with hookless ends includes an elastic body, a first attachment end, and a second attachment end. In a first preferred embodiment, the first and second attachment ends are spade attachment ends. Each spade attachment end includes a lock body, spade end and a lock slot. The spade end must be twisted to be inserted into the lock slot. The spade end is then twisted back to its original orientation to lock thereof in the lock slot. In a second embodiment, the first attachment end is a spade attachment end and the second attachment end is a tongue attachment end. The tongue attachment end includes a tongue body, a tongue hole, and a tongue extension. To lock the tongue attachment end, the tongue extension is inserted through a hole in an item until the spade contoured portion prevents further insertion. The tongue extension is then inserted through the tongue hole. In a third preferred embodiment, the first attachment end is a tongue attachment end and the second end is a strap attachment end.

Abstract: A bra strap converter for pulling bra straps closer together is provided. The bra strap converter includes a slide and a fastening apparatus, which can be constructed in three different ways. The slide allows the size of the bra strap converter to be adjusted, and may include hooks at each end that functions by attaching to each shoulder strap of the bra in the area across the shoulder blades. Alternatively, an elastic strap may include a hook-and-eye closure apparatus which allows the bra strap converter to be looped around the shoulder strap of the bra and hook together. In addition, a method is disclosed for using a detachable bra strap which includes a first attachment part at one end of the attachable bra strap and a second attachment part at another end attachable bra strap.

Abstract: The child seatbelt assembly is provided on-site as a single piece and includes two nylon web seatbelt portions which latch to each other by way of a releasable buckle. Both seatbelt portions are permanently affixed to strap retainers by means of sewing or attaching permanently through the seatbelt portions or through a sew-tab included as part of the strap retainers. This provides that the seatbelt portions are affixed to the strap retainers regardless of whether or not the strap retainers are in the open or closed position. This further allows the child seatbelt assembly to be provided to an installation site, such as a grocery store, as a single assembly.

Abstract: A strap 10 employing at opposite ends thereof respective fastener assemblies 11, each flexible fastener assembly comprising a rigid or a semi-flexible hook member 12 and a locking means in the form of a flexible strap section 13, each hook member 12 has an outer surface covered with a hook fastener material 14 while the inner surface of each of the straps 13 includes a complimentary loop fastener material 15 adapted to engage and hold onto the hook material 14 to form a closed loop.

Abstract: An adjustable strap is comprised of an elastic band generally folded in half with one section slightly longer than the other. The end of longer section is folded back over the shorter section and stitched to the end of the shorter section and an adjacent portion of the longer section. An elongated small loop and an elongated large loop are formed on opposite sides of the stitching. A D-ring is connected to the small loop, and a clip hook is hinged to the D-ring for clipping to a supporting structure. The lateral sections of the large loop are both threaded through at least two slots in a buckle, which is slidable along the large loop to divide it into two variable-size storage loops for strapping and holding items. The buckle is slidable for changing the sizes of the storage loops for tightening around the items. A triangular ring is connected to the storage loop farther away from the clip hook. The strap may be wrapped around a supporting structure by clipping the triangular ring to the clip hook.

Abstract: A laundry holder having a length of nylon webbing, with its ends joined with a side release buckle fastener. A sock snare, comprising a loop of nylon cording, is secured to the nylon webbing in depending relation thereto. The nylon cording is threaded through a releasable cordlock fastener. The cordlock fastener is used to adjust the size of the sock snare loop.

Abstract: In its broadest context, the present invention includes a belt with clips at both of its ends. The belt further includes male and female buckle elements slidably secured along the intermediate length of the belt. In use, the clips are secured to an adjacent wall via screws or the like. Thereafter, the buckle elements can be secured to one another thereby creating an intermediate loop of adjustable size. Such intermediate loop is specifically adapted to be formed about an object to be secured, such as a Christmas tree.

Abstract: A security device for preventing the theft of a purse or other item from a shopping cart. The device includes a flexible strap having opposed, first and second ends. A snap hook is secured to the first end of the strap for attachment to a purse. A ring is secured to the second end of said strap for attachment to a shopping cart. In use, the device acts like a leash to prevent unauthorized removal of the purse.

Abstract: A quick release clamp for inflatables or the like having a clamp fixed to a patch adapted to be secured to an inflatable. The clamp has a base portion having a cavity therein and a pair of integral spaced upstanding side walls on opposite sides of the cavity, a latch pivotally mounted to the clamp between the spaced side walls, the latch having a handle end and a protrusion fixed to the handle. The patch may be secured to an inflatable. A similar clamp, having a strap portion secured thereto, may be quickly and easily connected to the clamp mounted to a patch. The strap portion locks to the clamp secured to the patch and the other protrusion thereon locking into an opening in the patch, clamping the strap portion therebetween.

Abstract: A first buckle having a slot therethrough is connected to the garment at a first location. One end portion of a takeup strap is connected to the garment at a spaced second location. A second buckle has a pair of slots formed therethrough with a bar therebetween. The takeup strap extends from the second location through a slot in the second buckle, around the bar, through the other slot in the second buckle, through the slot in the first buckle, and the opposite end portion of the takeup strap is connected to the second buckle.

Abstract: An article for securing a load on a pallet includes two reusable straps. A hook is mounted at one end of each strap and is designed to be hooked around the runner of a pallet. The article further includes a quick-release mechanism for connecting the straps to one another. The mechanism comprises a buckle, and a yoke pivotally mounted at one end of the buckle. One of the straps is anchored to the yoke at the end of the strap remote from the respective hook. This strap may be anchored to the yoke permanently or by way of a quick-disconnect device. The buckle and the yoke have a relative position in which the second strap can be threaded into the buckle and then pulled to tighten the straps around a load. Relative pivotal movement of the buckle and the yoke to a second relative position locks the second strap to maintain tension in the straps.

Abstract: An elastic, jawed tether for securing a lid to an associated container, such as a garbage can. The tether comprises an elongated strap terminating at each end in a jawed clamp. The clamp has a self-locking device, such as a cam arrangement, and a screw for closing and locking the jaws in place. A swivel bearing connects each clamp to the strap, so that the clamps have no tendency to twist the strap.

Abstract: A quick release locking strap for securing items in place. The strap includes an elongated flexible strap portion having a pair of adjustable quick release clamps at spaced locations on the strap portion. In one embodiment, each clamp is fixedly secured to the strap portion. In another embodiment, one clamp is fixedly secured to the strap portion and the other clamp is adapted to be secured to a surface.

Abstract: A sling assembly for hands free carrying of a compound archery bow. Weight adjustment screws, components of a conventional bow, are employed to attach the sling assembly thereto without structurally modifying it. However, once the sling assembly has been so attached, the bow must be retensioned prior to use. Included in the sling assembly are two small brackets which are mirror images of each other and have first and second arms set at an obtuse angle to each other. Each bracket defines a pair of longitudinally extending prongs which can be slid into position around a weight adjustment screw without actually removing it from the bow. The sling assembly also includes a flexible strap secured to the brackets with the use of elongated slots formed in each of them. In use, the brackets are mounted on a bow in such a way that the elongated slots are disposed close to the bow.

Abstract: A tether for coupling an article of headwear to clothing of an individual. The inventive device includes a headwear engaging assembly for coupling to an article of headwear. A tether extends from the headwear engaging assembly and terminates in a clothing engaging assembly for coupling to an article of clothing to secure the headwear relative thereto.

Abstract: A lashing strap comprises a webbing including warp threads extending in a warp direction and spaced with respect to one another in a direction transverse to the warp direction thereby defining warp spacings therebetween. The lashing strap further has an end loop region at one end thereof and a strap region adjacent the end loop region, the warp spacings in the end loop region being less than the warp spacings in the strap region such that the lashing strap tapers from the strap region to the end loop region.

Abstract: A shoulder-strap retainer attachable to a shoulder strap for preventing a shoulder strap from slipping off the user's shoulder. The shoulder strap retainer includes a main retainer body, a first retainer end, and a second retainer end. The first retainer end is axially connected to one end of the main retainer body and includes a first tongue end operatively associated with a first securing means. The second retainer end is axially connected to a second end of the main retainer body and includes a second tongue end operatively associated with a second securing means. The first retainer end is attached to one leg of the shoulder strap and the second retainer end is attached to a second leg of the shoulder strap. The shoulder-strap retainer is used such that the shoulder strap is placed on top of the shoulder while the shoulder-strap retainer is positioned underneath the arm and adjusted to securely fit the shoulder strap to the shoulder.

Abstract: The invention provides an improved eyewear retainer in which a strap that is attached to the earpieces of the eyewear and looped around the head of a human wearer to retain the eyewear snugly and securely in place on the wearer's head. The strap includes at least one hinge, a region of the strap having increased flexibility in comparison with a region adjacent to the hinge. In preferred embodiments, the hinge is formed by pulling an end of the strap through an aperture through the strap's material. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the strap comprises two strap segments, each of which includes a hinge formed by passing an end of the strap segment through a separate aperture in the material of the strap segment. Each of the strap segments is provided with an attachment for securing the strap segment to an earpiece of the eyewear. The two strap segments are held together by a fastener, which may be formed of a hook and loop material.

Abstract: An integrated upholstering element presenting a supporting element made of plastic material and molded onto a lateral edge of a tape and onto a first end of at least one tie presenting, towards a second end opposite the first and in a predetermined axial position, at least one retaining element made of synthetic plastic material and also molded onto the tie. A series of integrated upholstering elements are injection molded one at a time in a system featuring two mating half molds, between which the tape and the ties are stretched between respective feed-off reels and gripping devices; after being molded, each integrated element is translated by a sufficient amount to feed a further free portion of the tape and ties between the half molds and the gripping devices, to perform the next molding operation; and the previously molded integrated element is detached by cutting the tape and ties downstream from the gripping devices.

Abstract: A strap locking device for binding freight, or goods loaded on a truck is provided. The locking device includes a plurality of strap length adjustment devices, or strap adjustment devices mixed with a simple strap hanger. Straps of adjustable length are combined with each strap adjustment device to be clamped and thereby stably bind freight loaded on a truck. A hook is secured to a distal end of each strap for engagement with a respective hook of the truck.

Abstract: A prisoner restraint device that permits a prisoner's lower legs or wrists to be secured in an adjustable loop at one end of a restraint strap and restrained close to one of the vehicle's doors comprises (a) a restraint buckle at one end of the strap so that the strap can be placed around a prisoner's lower legs or wrists and fastened into an adjustable loop, and (b) a moveable locking clip at the other end of the strap so that the strap can be extended through a closed vehicle door and the moveable locking clip wedged against the outside of the vehicle to secure the prisoner's bound limbs when the strap is pulled taut.

Abstract: A shoe fastening attachment device comprising a buckle with a structure for mounting the buckle to a pair of eyelets on a first side flap of a shoe. An elongated flexible strap is provided, with a facility for mounting a first end of the elongated flexible strap to a pair of eyelets on an opposite second side flap of the shoe. Paraphernalia on an upper face of the elongated flexible strap is for releasably securing portions of the upper face together, after a second end of the elongated flexible strap is inserted through the buckle and the elongated flexible strap is looped back upon itself in an overlapping manner.

Abstract: A wallet tether is removable from a wallet or the like to which it is secured, to provide for use of the wallet in more formal situations where such a tether would be unsightly. The tether includes an openable loop which is securable about a belt, belt loop, or other appropriate structure of the apparel of the user, and an eyelet which is secured to the wallet by a threaded fastener which is passed through a hole in the wallet periphery. Thus, the wallet may be opened and the contents accessed without need to remove the tether from the wallet. An elongate, flexible cord extends between the apparel attachment loop and the wallet attachment eyelet. The cord may be non-metallic, in order to reduce to a minimum the amount of metal in the device to preclude requirement for removal for passage through metal detectors. Preferably, the cord ends are secured to the openable loop and to the wallet attachment eyelet with crimp connections, for strength, durability, and economy of manufacture.

Abstract: A strap locking device is provided. The strap locking device includes a strap locker having a plate body with a plurality outward projecting ends spaced apart and extending in different directions. Each of the outward projecting ends is formed with a buckle for locking a strap of adjustable length. Each strap has its outer end bound to a hook for engagement with a hook of a truck or other support for freight. A strap stopper may be substituted for the buckle, the strap stopper having both ends formed flat to loosely fit within two slots provided in two opposing side walls formed in the plural ends of the plate body. The strap stopper has a round intermediate portion to clamp a strap and make it immovable when the strap is pulled taut. One of the ends of the plate body may be provided with only a strap slot for coupling to a strap of predetermined length.

Abstract: A new and improved clothing anchor apparatus, especially useful for anchoring the front and back tails of shirts, includes a first clothing connector, a second clothing connector, and an elastic strap connected therebetween. The elastic strap has a first end, an interior portion, and a second end. A strap length adjuster is located on the interior portion of the strap for adjusting the effective length of the strap. The effective length of the strap is adjusted by adjustingly doubling a portion of the strap. A soft, flexible jacket encompasses a portion of the elastic strap and the strap length adjuster. The jacket may also include a pocket for receiving and secretly storing soft, flexible items such as paper money. In use, preferably, two clothing anchor apparatuses of the invention are used. One clothing connector of each apparatus is attached to the front shirt tail, and the other clothing connector of each apparatus is attached to the back shirt tail by first passing under the crotch area.

Abstract: A holder for an infant nurser bottle includes an elongated strap-like member which is formed at one end so as to be looped around a securing member and formed at the other end so as to cooperate with a lower bottle girdling strap secured thereto to provide a harness for nesting the bottom and lower circumference of the bottle. An upper girdling strap is secured to the elongated strap-like member for girdling the upper circumference of the bottle.

Abstract: A harness for securing a neck strap of a neck-worn article remote from the neck of the wearer is disclosed. The harness includes a padded band adapted for placement of the neck strap of the neck-worn article therethrough. The padded band includes a buckle for opening and closure thereof, and is adapted to be oriented adjacent to the back of the wearer such that the weight of the neck-worn article is borne and/or dispersed by the padded band. An elongate strap is attached to the padded band and includes a fastener for attaching the harness to the clothing of the wearer to secure the padded band while it bears the weight of the neck-worn article.

Abstract: A self-locking snap-hook is disclosed which is so shaped that the tractive load transmitted by a first traction element is applied to a first tractive force application end formed by the snap-hook body, and the tractive load transmitted by the second traction element is applied to the locking finger. Thus, the application of the tractive load tends to close the snap-hook and cause self-locking thereof.

Abstract: A tie-down device for securing and holding down cargo and the like. The device includes a turnbuckle. A strap is provided having a first end and a second end that are secured to the turnbuckle, so as to loop back on itself and defining a loose strap and a stationary strap. A first hook is carried by the turnbuckle. A second hook is carried by the strap between the loose and stationary straps. Rotation of the turnbuckle in a first tightening direction wraps the loose strap around the stationary strap, shortening the loose strap for tightening the device and securing and holding down the cargo and the like and also locking the loose strap in place. Rotation of the turnbuckle in a second loosening direction unwraps the loose strap from around the stationary strap, lengthening the loose strap for untightening the device and unsecuring and releasing the cargo and the like.

Abstract: A universal tether apparatus for releasably attaching juvenile articles, such as pacifiers, teething devices, rattles and toys, to the clothing of an infant. The apparatus includes releasably affixable attachment members capable of alternatively coupling to and releasing from, both male post-type and female loop-type elements of juvenile articles. A flexible strap attached to a post attachment end and a second attachemnt member facilitates universal securement of either end of the strap to an apparatus body, or to a juvenile article--depending on whether the juvenile article has a post-type or loop-type grasping/attachment element.

Abstract: A tube holder adapted to be applied to the body to correctly position a tube and comprising a flat base for application to the body, and on the base at the center thereof being a tube holder comprising a length of material riveted to the base and having connection means on the end portions of the material to make a tie.
