Each of the leads includes a connector at its distal end. Preferably, the connectors are electrical connectors with two coupling orientations. In the first orientation, the circuit is energized and illuminated. In the second orientation, the circuit is de-energized and not illuminated. Thus, the necklace can be worn around a user's neck in either an illuminated or non-illuminated state.

The buckle includes insert and receptacle members, each of which have a variable insert stop means that can mutually interact either adversely or reciprocally when the insert is placed within the receptacle. Adverse interaction results in partial insertion, frictional coupling, and an automatic release of the members upon application of tensional force. Reciprocal interaction results in full penetration and a locking interactional coupling of the insert arms with the receptacle. Manual compression of the arms is then required for separation of the two members. Lanyard and card attachment means are provided on both members.

The plug has a plate-like tongue, and a ring projecting from a base of the plug, the tongue having a pair of belt-insertion holes Also the plug has a frame around the tongue, and a pair of resilient locking projections for locking engagement with opposite side walls of the socket when the plug is inserted in the socket. In use, one end of a belt of a bag or other article is inserted through the socket and the belt-insertion holes and is then turned over and is tentatively held in such folded form, whereupon the belt together with the plug is inserted into the socket for fastening. For unfastening the belt, the ring is pulled away from the socket while the locking projections are pressed toward each other against their resilience.

Each of the elastic pieces includes a second engaging portion at a distal end thereof, and the elastic pieces are disposed to face each other and inserted into the inserting hole of the female member. The both end portions of the front surface of the collar portion are respectively provided with concave portions, so that the collar portion and the elastic pieces are overlapped in a longitudinal direction thereof. Accordingly, an entire length of the male member is shortened while a length of the elastic piece and bending margin are obtained as required.

Abstract: A positive locking safety latch for use as a secondary latch in ensuring the holding closed of an openable encircling jewelry item such as for the wrist (bracelets or watches), necklaces, anklets and the like, already locked closed by a primary latch. The secondary latch comprises an apertured member hingedly affixed to one end of the item to be latched closed and a post member with an enlarged head affixed to the other end of the item to be closed. The aperture of the apertured member is sized and positioned to be hingedly closely fitted over the enlarged head of the post when the primary latch is engaged. The apertured member further comprises a spring loaded chuck element which extends into the aperture and blocks entry of the enlarged head into the aperture. A retraction control causes retraction of the chuck element whereby the post can be fitted into the aperture.

Abstract: A locking device for a buckle including a male member and a female member having coupling apertures formed in opposing sides. The male member includes a pair of resilient arms having coupling tabs for cooperating with the coupling apertures of the female member. The female member has guide means for receiving a guide member on the male member during insertion of the male member into the female member. The female member is provided with a locking device in the form of a locking member slidable in a slot to a position where it prevents depression of one of the resilient arms to release the coupling tabs from the coupling apertures. The lock is released by sliding the locking member along the slot in a direction away from the resilient arm. Accidental or unauthorised release of the buckle can therefore be prevented by providing the locking device on a side of the female member next to the wearer.

Abstract: A barrel lock with a hollow cylindrical barrel having a perforated disk attached to one end thereof, and an elongated annular insert mounted within the barrel and extending from both ends of the barrel to provide loops at each end of the barrel. Preferably one end of the insert has a shoulder to engage the disk to prevent the annular insert from passing fully through the disk and the barrel. The barrel lock includes a spring clasp that is adapted to pass through the loop at the disk end of the barrel and also to pass through the perforation in the disk into the interior of the barrel. The spring clasp also engages and locks with the edges of the disk perforation when fully inserted.

The hinge is formed between two segments of an earring and is provided with two flat surfaces. A tongue, preferably resilient, protrudes from one of the segments of the earring.
