The elevator component has a housing attached to a face plate, a number of flexible arms attached to and integral with the housing, the arm(s) causing the housing to interfere with an opening in the elevator or the landing upon insertion or removal of the housing from the opening, the arm being movable in two directions to avoid interference with the opening upon insertion or removal of the housing from the opening, a visually inconspicuous accessway in the face plate for allowing access to the arm, and a key for extending through the accessway and simultaneously moving the arm or arms in both directions to allow the component to be removed from the opening without interference by the arm(s). The component may include a shaped projection that causes the housing to be specially manipulated to remove the housing from the opening even after usage of the key.

    Abstract: A device, such as a radio, has opposing vertical sides and a vehicle instrument panel includes a recess having a rearward access opening and opposing spaced apart side walls. Each side wall of the instrument panel recess includes an integrally formed longitudinally extending tapered dovetail rail. A pair of tapered dovetail slide members are each adapted to be fixedly mounted to an opposite side of the device. Each slide member includes an integral upper and lower finger transversely cantilevered away from the device. The upper and lower fingers are vertically spaced apart for matably receiving the respective dovetail rail therebetween by interference-fitted engagement therewith when the device is longitudinally inserted into the recess of the instrument panel. Thus, the slide members and dovetail rails cooperatively secure the device to the recess of the instrument panel to prevent movement of the device relative the instrument panel.

Slidably retained in each aperture on opposite sides of the wall are latches for releasably fastening the indicator panel to the mounting plate. The female segment includes a base for mounting or being integrally molded on the second panel member, a flange or collar formed on one side of the base, and an opening through the base and the collar, with a frustoconically shaped surface formed on the inner surface of the collar. The outer edges of the fingers are selectively shaped to lockingly cooperate with the frustoconically shaped surface once the fingers are urged through the opening.

    Abstract: In a hose fitting fixing construction of the present invention, at least one of a hose fitting and a bracket has at least one stopper having a stopper surface brought into contact with the other part and being substantially parallel to a plane which contains a fixing point of a fixing device and the central axis of a sleeve of the hose fitting. The stopper prevents the hose fitting from moving on a surface of the bracket. Accordingly, the hose fitting fixing construction offers an excellent positioning accuracy when installing a hose assembly, and prevents the hose fitting from moving on the surface of the bracket even during service. In addition, it is possible to install the hose assembly to a mounting portion more easily than installing the hose assembly with the prior art hose fitting fixing construction, and obtain excellent work efficiency in a limited work space.

The detent pawls of the elastic pieces engage with the detent holes when the main body is mounted to the mounting tube.

    Abstract: A floating panel mount for an electrical connector is provided. The floating panel mount includes a central support post from which a pair of helically configured inwardly collapsible vanes extend. The vanes are tapered to define a minor cross sectional dimension less than the diameter of a mounting aperture in the panel and a major dimension which exceeds the diameter of the mounting aperture. The vanes are helically collapsed in response to ramping forces generated as the floating panel mount is urged into the mounting aperture of the panel. The vanes then resiliently return to their undeflected condition to engage the panel. In this mounted condition, the vanes permit radial float of the electrical connector relative to the panel, but prevent backup in response to mating forces.

A locking arm is cantilevered from the end of the upper arm remote from the lower arm such that the lower arm and the locking arm extend angularly from opposed ends of the upper arm and from opposite sides thereof. The maximum cross-sectional dimension defined by the upper and locking arms exceeds the maximum cross-sectional dimension of a mounting aperture in a panel. However, the cross-sectional dimensions defined by the upper arms is substantially less than the cross-sectional dimensions of the mounting aperture. The arms can be deflected to enable the latch structures to pass through the mounting aperture.
