  • Patent number: 4685650
Abstract: Apparatus for forming inverts in a manhole base using a single pour or double pour technique. In the single pour technique, the invert is formed simultaneously with the formation of the manhole base using a mold member having a channel-shaped projection defining the invert. Alignment members simply, and precisely, align the mold member having the channel-shaped projection with the members forming the base member sidewall openings to form a manhole base having an invert in precise alignment with associated sidewall openings. In the two pour technique, the manhole base is initially formed. Thereafter, channel invert forms are aligned with sidewall openings by alignment members arranged within the manhole openings to assure precise alignment therebetween, wherein the invert formed within the manhole base by pouring the casting material into the base member forms an invert which is in precise alignment with associated sidewall openings.

  • Patent number: 4617159
Abstract: A mold for preparing a plug suitable for making a dental shade sample having a layer of porcelain material having a known thickness; the mold comprises: a base with a cylinder extending upwardly therefrom; a planar platform surface at the upper end of the cylinder, the cylinder being threaded in a region below the platform surface; and a hollow annular housing defining an internal cylindrical surface sized and cooperatively threaded to engage the cylinder threads. Rotation of the housing relative to the cylinder moves the housing vertically and continuously varies the known depth of the cavity between the housing and the platform surface. • Patent number: 4151976
Abstract: A modular die system is disclosed for use in blow molding an extruded plastic parison to form container members of essentially similar design but differeing dimensionally. Through use of composite die sets having modular elements, containers of different capacities can be molded without requiring complete die sets for each individual container size. That is, die elements used in molding a container member of one size may also serve in molding container members of a different size. This capability is achieved through break-down of the usual integral, cavity-defining die halves of a split die set into a plurality of die elements so selected that each of them controls but two of the three dimensions of the die cavity. Provision is made for substituting different die elements in the composite die sets and for securing these together on the platens of a blow molding press.
