  • Patent number: 8439281
Abstract: A modular coatings sprayer includes a valve housing in which there is defined a nozzle orifice and a valve-shaft bore opposite the nozzle orifice. A housing side wall extends between the orifice and bore and defines an internal fluid passage. The side wall includes an opening through which pressurized fluid is introduced into the fluid passage. A valve including a valve shaft with opposed back and nozzle-closing ends is sealably supported within the bore such that (i) the nozzle-closing end is situated within the housing and the back end is situated external to the housing and (ii) the valve shaft can axially reciprocated between a first position in which the nozzle-closing end does not seal the nozzle orifice and a nozzle-closing position in which the nozzle-closing end seals the nozzle orifice such that pressurized fluid within the fluid passage is prevented from exiting through the nozzle orifice.

  • Patent number: 8328161
Abstract: The fitting housing contains a control cartridge, of which the control shank can be pivoted about the pivot axis. The actuating lever can be displaced relative to the control shank, is mounted on the latter and can be pivoted via its own lever axis, this lever axis being guided in the guide track. When the actuating lever is pivoted up and down, it executes a displacement movement relative to the control shank, and this prevents contact between the actuating lever and the fitting housing.

  • Patent number: 6880803
Abstract: In a closure device for the fluid delivery line of a high-pressure cleaning apparatus having arranged in the fluid delivery line a closure member which is pressed with a closing force against a valve seat and thereby closes the fluid delivery line, and which is liftable off the valve seat by a mechanical actuating element displaceable by a hand lever and extending in a sealed manner out of the fluid delivery line, when the hand lever is moved in the direction of an open position, in order to reduce the holding forces when the hand spray gun is open, it is proposed that downstream of the valve seat in the fluid delivery line a displaceably mounted piston extend in a sealed manner out of the fluid delivery line and upon being pushed out of the fluid delivery line cooperate with the hand lever in such a manner that the hand lever is moved in the direction towards its open position.

  • Patent number: 5620015
Abstract: A valve for sealing a pipe opening with a seal plate movably attached to the pipe opening and a valve body fixed to the pipe opening. Moving the seal plate towards the pipe opening closes the valve, and moving the seal plate away from the pipe opening opens the valve. The valve body includes a plate stop to limit the movement of the seal plate relative to the pipe opening. For instance, the seal plate, when forced fully away from the pipe opening, is forced to define an oblique plane that is oblique to the plane of the pipe opening. A method of sealing and then unsealing a pipe opening incorporating such a seal plate is also included.

  • Patent number: 4524631
Abstract: Valve for controlling a power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering mechanism, of the slide-valve kind, whose slide member 11 moves along an axis different from that of the pinion 1 as a result of the axial movement of the pinion produced by the thrust exerted on it by the rack because of the inclination of its teeth, said slide member being connected to the pinion through a kinematic mechanism with a high transmission ratio consisting of a rubber ring, all outer surfaces of which are enclosed by rigid walls, a push-rod 10, and resilient means pressing one against the other said rubber ring, push-rod and slide member in such a way that the displacements of the slide member is given by the displacement of the pinion multiplied by the ratio between the area of the rubber exposed to the axial thrust acting on the pinion and the area of the cross-section of push-rod 10.

  • Patent number: 4334666
Abstract: A gate valve (10) has an expanding gate assembly (34) mounted in the valve chamber (14) for movement between open and closed positions. The gate assembly (34) includes a gate (44) connected to a valve stem (28) and a segment (52) is carried by the gate (44). The gate (44) and segment (52) each have wedging surfaces (46 and 54) which permit a wedging action to provide lateral expansion therebetween at the open and closed positions. A rocker arm (80) is pivotally mounted to a side (49) of the gate (44). The rocker arm (80) has a slot (102) with a bearing block (104) slidably received therein. A bearing pin (110) extends from a side (57) of the segment (52) and is journaled in the bearing block (104). A seat skirt (60) is contained within the valve chamber (14) and engages the rocker arm (80) so as to control the ability of the rocker arm (80) to pivot about the gate (44) thereby allowing the gate (44) and segment (52) to expand from each other at a preselected position in the travel of the gate assembly (34).
