  • Patent number: 7997459
Abstract: A metering valve is provided for a pressurised container containing a pharmaceutical formulation. The valve has a stem with a central flange and a hollow open end with a side port. The stem slides in a body having larger and smaller diameter portions, and being closed off by a seal against which the flange rests in an inoperative position. A second seal is located around the stem on the opposite side of the flange and trapped by a spring which urges the stem into its inoperative position. When the stem is depressed, the inner seal forms a sliding seal with the smaller diameter portion of the body to define a metering chamber filled with the pharmaceutical formulation. Continued depression opens the side hole to allow the contents of the metering chamber to be dispensed.

Abstract: An in-line fluid flow control valve includes a housing defining an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber aligned along a outlet axis. The housing further defines a bore with a flow control device and an adjustment mechanism disposed therein for regulating a fluid flow rate. The flow control device defines a fluid passage interconnecting the inlet chamber and the outlet chamber. The plane and the outlet axis define an acute angle therebetween. The angled position of the bore relative to the outlet axis permits access to and adjustment of the flow control device, as well as replacement of the flow control device, without disconnecting any fittings attached to the inlet and the outlet of the control valve.

  • Patent number: 7367355
Abstract: A twin manifold seat valve comprising at least two closure members S1, S2, S3 each functionally associated with at least one valve seat D1, D2, D3, D4. At least one of the closure members is moved to a blocking position with predetermined blocking force at the valve seat upon energization of a solenoid and counter to the force of a spring 22, 7. A single common solenoid M is functionally associated to both closure members S1, S2, S3 by two pivotably supported reduction levers U1, U2. The armature 2 of the solenoid actuates both reduction levers U1, U2. The closure members are located on the same side of the pivot support of the reduction levers. A spring member is integrated into at least one of the reduction levers. The solenoid armature deforms the spring members to generate the closure member blocking force by moving the closure members into contact with their respective seats.

Abstract: The invention relates to a continuously lockable adjusting device 1, consisting of a fluid-filled cylindrical housing 2, of a piston 4 which is axially movable in the housing 2 and which subdivides the housing 2 into two pressure chambers 5, 6 and is connected to a piston rod 3 which, sealed off at one end, penetrates the housing 2. A locking valve 7 has a closing member 13 and a manually actuable trigger tappet 8 together with a transmission disc 16, a tilting movement of the trigger tappet 8 causing the closing member 13 to be capable of being acted upon axially movably by the transmission disc 16 and causing the locking valve 7 to be capable of opening so as to connect the pressure chambers 5, 6 to one another. The transmission disc 16 of the trigger tappet 8 is in bearing contact on the closing member 13 axially in a play-free manner, and the trigger tappet 8 is fixed axially in this position with respect to the closing member 13.

  • Patent number: 6047089
Abstract: The image compression and expansion device comprises a DCT processing unit in which original image data is subjected to a two-dimensional discrete cosine transformation to obtain DCT coefficients, a quantization process unit in which original image data is quantized by a first quantization table to obtain quantized DCT coefficients and a compression processing unit in which the quantized DCT coefficients are encoded to generate compressed image data. • Patent number: 6032922
Abstract: A fluid flow control valve is provided comprising a valve seat inside a housing for defining a passage opening in the housing and a valve seal positioned against the valve seat for closing off fluid flow. A push rod extends from the valve seal and through the passage opening. The push rod is moveable for moving the valve seal off the seat to open the valve. The valve seal is restricted to substantially axial movement, preferably by a spring biasing the valve seal against the valve seat which spring is sized so as to engage the walls of the passage. A cam shaft rotatably mounted in the housing is provided for moving the push rod upon rotation of the cam shaft. A handle is non-rotatably connected to the shaft for rotating the cam shaft. A latch may be provided for releasably locking the handle in a position where the valve is open. A safety may also be provided on the latch arm so as to prevent the handle from being moved accidentally.

Abstract: A throttle valve is disposed in a handle of an air tool. The throttle valve includes a throttle trigger provided on the handle of the air tool, and a throttle pin which is fixed to the throttle trigger and adapted to axially move when the throttle trigger is operated. A valve stem having a head portion is coupled with the throttle pin. A valve bush is press-fit into a shoulder portion provided inside the handle on which the head portion of the valve stem rests. A spring is provided to urge the head portion of the valve stem to contact the valve bush and to allow the valve stem to tilt when the throttle pin axially moves. This structure makes it possible to provide airtightness between the shoulder portion and the head portion of the valve stem by a simplified machining. In addition, the airtightness can be maintained for a longer period of time compared to the case of using a washer made of Teflon.

Movement of the stem is achieved by means of a pivotally mounted valve operating lever, or by air pressure. The valve includes as special features thereof limited contact between the disc and the valve seal; a specially positioned valve seat which provides a pressure relief safety feature; a non-jamming spring configuration with positioning means therefore, and a self-aligning stem. In one of the preferred embodiments, a constricted opening is provided in the outlet of the valve to create an audible signal and to reduce loss of pressure when the valve is in its open position, draining the tank.

  • Patent number: 4524945
Abstract: A pressure fluid operated limit switch, particularly for a device for controlling an adjusting element in dependence upon a control value and a reference value. The limit switch includes a housing formed with a recess in which a spring-biased valve member is positioned. The valve member normally abuts against a valve seat formed by a shoulder in the switch housing is at times moved away from that seat against the force of the spring in response to a condition of the adjusting element with which the limit switch is mechanically connected. In order to ensure rapid movement of the valve member away from its seat and thus preventing throttling of the pressure fluid when the switch is in its open position the valve member is provided with the actuating element rigidly connected thereto and carrying at its free end an axially slidable sleeve biased by a spring which is clamped between that sleeve and the valve member.
