Abstract: The present invention provides a lateral draft tube for a water control valve core, which is defined by a through-type groove and upper and lower openings. The through-type groove is sleeved around the shell of the water control valve core. The upper and lower portions have different diameters on the external wall of the draft tube. A ring flange is formed on the upper portion, and a guide ring surface is formed on the lower portion. The ring flange is provided with a sealing ring, and a drainage portion is arranged at the lower end of the draft tube to connect the through-type groove and guide ring surface. The draft tube can be located higher than the water control valve core, such that upward flow of the guide ring surface is not limited by the water control valve core. Abstract: An inexpensive air valve-connector can enable the construction of inflatable structures having multiple inflatable components. In particular, an inflatable component can be connected to an inflated structure and inflate without deflating the structure. Specifically, positive air pressure generated by an air blower, i.e. a fan, is used to inflate a structure composed of one or more blocks that self-inflate upon connection to inflated blocks. The air valve-connector can be embodied in a low-cost building block toy. The air valve-connector can also be used to create other inflatable structures, such as decorations and signage. The air valve-connector comprises two light-weight connectors that can exist on opposite sides of the same block. The valve includes a compressible material, such as foam, that is actuated to open the valve. When two blocks are connected via the air valve, air is transferred from a first block to a second block.

  • Patent number: 7240895
Abstract: The invention relates to a gas exchange valve for an internal combustion engine, in each case comprising in particular a hollow valve stem (3) and valve head, in which the valve head comprises a valve bottom and a hollow valve keeper, connected to the external margin of the valve bottom, wherein the valve keeper tapers off as the distance from the bottom increases; the valve stem passes through the hollow valve keeper and is firmly connected to the valve bottom on the one hand, and to the tapering-off end of the valve keeper on the other hand; and the end of the valve stem which is connected to the valve bottom protrudes beyond the connection plane between the valve keeper and the valve bottom, is to be improved in relation to its stability and fatigue strength.

  • Patent number: 7188731
Abstract: An apparatus and method for filtering particles from a fluid comprises a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a variable size passage between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet, and means for adjusting the size of the variable size passage for filtering the particles from the fluid. An inlet fluid flow stream is introduced to a fixture with a variable size passage. The size of the variable size passage is set so that the fluid passes through the variable size passage but the particles do not pass through the variable size passage.

  • Patent number: 7070165
Abstract: A thermal isolator assembly that provides rigid construction, linearly and rotationally, is presented. The thermal isolator assembly includes a collar and a sleeve that are thermally isolated one from another but held in rigid mechanical relation. When constructed for actuated valves, the collar forms an actuator arm coupling member while the sleeve forms a valve stem coupling member. A pair of thermal isolators provide thermal isolation between these members. A polyphenylene sulfide compound, and preferably a fiberglass reinforced polyphenylene sulfide compound is used because of its high mechanical strength and low thermal conductivity for these thermal isolators.

  • Patent number: 6959727
Abstract: A check valve for connection in a fuel tank filler tube. The valve has a tubular body with a plurality of radially inwardly extending vanes or ribs in the inlet end about a portion of the circumference. The ribs are tapered in the flow direction to deflect the end of a siphoning hose to an offset opening. A valve seat and poppet with a tapered surface are disposed downstream of the ribs, clearance apertures are formed in the side of the tubular body downstream of the valve seat. The tapered surface of the poppet, upon being opened by insertion of the end of a siphoning hose deflects the hose outwardly through the clearance apertures to facilitate further insertion into the tank. The poppet is biased normally closed by a spring.

  • Patent number: 6899117
Abstract: A mounting assembly is disclosed for mounting an object, such as a valve or a spa jet about an aperture in a wall such as a bath or shower wall. The assembly has the advantage that the object can be mounted such that it projects a predetermined distance from the front surface of the wall and can be secured to the wall by rotating a member on the front side of the wall. The invention also provides a valve assembly having relief between sealing surfaces to prevent the valve member seizing.

  • Patent number: 6863261
Abstract: A stop (20) for a dispensing valve (10) is adapted to be moveable between a first position abutting a valve surface (28) to seal an opening (30), and a second position spaced from the surface (28) to open the opening (30). The stop (20) has a base (52), and a sealing member (54) connected to the base (52) by a hinge member (60). The sealing member (54) has a sealing surface (66) at a distal end. The sealing member (54) extends away from the base (52) in a first molded position (MP). The sealing member (66) is foldable at the hinge member (60) to a second position (FP) wherein the sealing surface (66) faces generally towards the base (52). The method of making the valve stop (20) includes injection molding the stop (20) such that the sealing surface (66) is free of split-lines.
