Lever And Nontorsion Spring Patents (Class 267/228)
  • Publication number: 20110057371
Abstract: An improved suspension unit which is quite and compact is revealed. The suspension unit includes a hanger member having a load bearing portion and a front face with an aperture and a control arm having a front face with an aperture and a load bearing portion. The control arm is pivotally attached to and depends from the hanger such that the front face of the hanger and the front face of the control arm are opposed one another with the aperture on the front face of the hanger being aligned with the aperture on the front face of the control arm and with the load bearing portion of the hanger positioned above the load bearing portion of the control arm.

  • Patent number: 7599779
Abstract: In an acceleration estimation device for estimating acceleration of a vehicle, a Karman filter for constant speed estimates x-direction acceleration offset and z-direction acceleration offset when a motorcycle is stopped and is traveling at a constant speed. An offset corrector corrects an x-direction acceleration and a z-direction acceleration on the basis of an x-direction acceleration offset estimated value and a z-direction acceleration offset estimated value when the motorcycle is accelerated and decelerated. A Karman filter for acceleration/deceleration estimates the pitch angle of a vehicle body on the basis of a wheel speed and the corrected x-direction acceleration and z-direction acceleration when the motorcycle is accelerated and decelerated. An acceleration corrector obtains an X-direction acceleration and a Z-direction acceleration on the basis of the estimated pitch angle and the corrected x-direction acceleration and z-direction acceleration.

  • Patent number: 6729380
Abstract: Track guided doors, such as upward acting multipanel garage doors are provided with roller guide member support brackets on opposite side edges of the panels for supporting guide rollers disposed in the opposed guide tracks. The support brackets include bearing bores formed by bore walls of the support brackets for supporting elongated stem or shaft portions of the roller guide members. The roller guide members may include leaf springs mounted in grooves on the guide member shaft portions or the support bracket may include elastically deflectable clips mounted thereon, the leaf springs and clips providing resilient members for engagement with the stem parts, respectively, to bias them into engagement with the bore walls of the support brackets to minimize noise generated by the guide members during movement of the door.

  • Patent number: 5620173
Abstract: A double-acting distributed pressure vibration proof structure is comprised of three or more than three relatively iter-linked bodies, whereof each inter-linked body is coupled with the respective end joint hinges and the middle joint hinge to the V-shaped two-arm structure, thereof the vibration spring is installed respectively on each end joint hinge of the V-shaped two-arm structure, as well as between the middle joint hinge of the V-shaped two arm structure and the inter-linked body coupled with one end of one arm of the V-shape two-arm structure. An interacting three-joint hinges structure is embodied through each end joint hinge of the V-shaped two-arm structure and the hinge structure between the middle joint hinge and the joint hinge of each linked carrier to constitute a multi-vibration absorptive double-acting distributed pressure vibration proof structure.

  • Patent number: 5390949
Abstract: A lightweight, high performance, active suspension system utilizing piezoelectric regulated springs, and a method of manufacturing the suspension system, is described. Piezoelectric material is bonded to suspension springs, and excited appropriately to vary the stiffness of the suspension system. A method of controlling the stiffness of a spring includes piezoelectric material bonded to the spring, a sensor system for generating a signal proportional to the loading imposed on the spring, and controller for exciting the piezoelectric material in response to the signal. A control system for controlling the stiffness of a spring including embedding a plurality of piezoelectric particles within an electrically conductive matrix forming the body of the spring is also described.
