  • Patent number: 11035148
Abstract: A handle return assembly removably attachable to an escutcheon. The removably attachable assembly may include a housing to be attached to the escutcheon and a hub rotatably disposed within the housing for operably connecting an operating handle to a drive spindle. A torsion spring may bias the hub toward an initial position. At least one stopper plate may interact with the cartridge housing for limiting rotational motion of the hub relative to the housing. Selectively positioning the stopper plate and the spring relative to the housing provides the assembly with the ability to provide a right-handed operation and a left-handed operation.

  • Patent number: 9234386
Abstract: A door assembly including two opposite members, at least one of which is a rotatable door, and a closing system which is provided for mounting to one of the opposite members, and where the closing system includes a holder profile, and at least one engaging member for engaging a complementary edge part on the opposite member to maintain the door in closed position. The engaging is at least partly elastically deformable to enable opening of the door in at least one direction. The closing system also includes a blocking member to prevent opening of the door in one direction or the other. The engaging and blocking members are formed by mutually exchangeable strips which are compressible and are releasably mountable to the holder profile of the closing system.

  • Patent number: 9208963
Abstract: An apparatus generates a machine operation enable signal as a function of a closed position of a movable safety access door of a safety guard for a work cell. A pivotal plate carries a handle and a switch receiver. A stationary non-contact proximity switch is mounted to be activated by the switch receiver when the door is closed and the pivotal plate is in a latched position. A ring receives a tongue projecting from the pivotal plate when the plate and handle are in the latched position. A pivotal hasp is movable around the ring into interference with the path of movement of the pivotal plate to block the plate from the fully latched position. A movable detent enables the plate and handle to be moved to the fully latched position only by moving the detent from exterior side of the plate.

  • Patent number: 7155945
Abstract: A lock including a frame, a handle operated latch bolt, a handle shaft, a latch bolt actuating mechanism and a mechanism for locking the handle shaft. The latch bolt locking mechanism includes a locking lever which is fixed with respect to the handle shaft and arranged to cooperate with a stop element on the frame. The latch bolt locking mechanism further includes an electromagnet which moves the locking lever with respect to the handle shaft or the stop element with respect to the frame so that the locking lever can be unlocked and locked behind the stop element. The locking device, which is either formed by the locking lever or by the stop element, is movable by the electromagnet in a direction forming an angle greater than about 45°, preferably greater than about 65°, with a flat plane extending at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the handle shaft. A more reliable locking and unlocking of the handle shaft can be produced.

  • Patent number: 6802546
Abstract: A convertible door latch assembly convertible between a non-locking configuration and a locking configuration. The convertible door latch assembly including a bolt housing, a bolt slidably engaging the bolt housing and having a first slot and a second slot, a drawbar slidably engaging the first slot and the bolt housing, a dead latch stop being engagable in the first slot to hold the drawbar in the first slot when the convertible door latch assembly is in the locking configuration, a plunger being slidably engagable in the second slot and being movable between an extended position and a retracted position when the convertible door latch assembly is in the locking configuration, and a pull slidably positionable within the first slot and moveable relative to the bolt when the convertible door latch is in the non-locking configuration.

  • Patent number: 6793254
Abstract: An automatic door latch is disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the latch includes a dead bolt which is automatically moved from a partially retracted or trigger position to a fully extended locking position when a door in which the lock is mounted is closed. When a key is used to unlock the dead bolt from outside of the door, or a finger turn or key is used to unlock the dead bolt from inside of the door, the dead bolt is automatically reset to the trigger position. In a preferred embodiment, the dead bolt lock includes a multi-position switch mounted in the lock housing which engages a contact member mounted on the dead bolt. Retraction of the dead bolt into the housing causes the multi-position switch to engage the contact member and to secure the dead bolt in the trigger position. Subsequent retraction of the dead bolt into the housing causes the multi-position switch to disengage from the contact member, thereby allowing the dead bolt to extend from the housing to the locked position.

  • Patent number: 6793253
Abstract: A lock which includes a bolt, a catch, a handle for manually moving the catch from an operative position to an inoperative position, first link means, and electrically actuable means for causing movement of the first link means between first and second positions, the first link means, at the said first position, translating movement of the handle in a first direction into movement of the bolt from a locked position to an unlocked position and, at the said second position, allowing handle movement in the said first direction without corresponding movement of the bolt.

  • Patent number: 6735993
Abstract: A lock mechanism for use with lever handles includes a lock core and a latch mechanism that is rigidly connected to the lock core to prevent the lock core from rotating in the door. Through-bolts are not needed, allowing a small diameter rose to be used. Stops and a spring return mechanism are entirely located within the lock core, allowing the rose to be thin. The lock core defines the rest position for the lever handles at an angle slightly above horizontal. To avoid the necessity for producing different locks in left and right-hand configurations, the lock core is made substantially symmetrical about a vertical plane, instead of a horizontal plane, and the inner and outer sides of the lock mechanism can be interchanged. A heavy-duty locking piece, including a pair of locking lugs that directly engage the lock core near its inner perimeter, allow the lock to withstand abusive forces applied through the lever handle.
