Abstract: The present invention relates to an assembly comprising a tailgate box and at least one link designed to be fitted on the box. Abstract: Door assemblies having magnetized bumpers for use with vehicles are disclosed. The door assemblies comprise a bumper assembly for use in a vehicle having a door that when fully opens contacts an adjacent body panel. The bumper assembly includes a bumper having a base and a distal end opposite the base. The base is configured for fixed attachment to the first exterior surface of a vehicle. The bumper is made of an elastomer and/or plastic and is configured for removable engagement with a second exterior surface. A magnet is provided with at least a portion of the magnet embedded in the body between the distal end and the base. The magnet is located within the bumper sufficiently close to the distal end to exert an attractive magnetic force sufficient to retain a door in contact with the bumper but without the magnet directly touching the door.
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for locking a first door of a motor vehicle in place relative to a second door as the first and second doors abut against each other when closed. The apparatus includes a base plate mounted to the first door. A latch release lever is pivotally mounted to the base plate for movement between a neutral position and a release position. In the release position, the latch release lever actuates at least one door latch to release the first door. A plunger is slidably mounted to the first door and movable between an open position and a closed position engaging the latch release lever. Closing the second door while the first door is closed moves the plunger from the open position to the closed position to prevent the latch release lever from pivoting into the release position.
Abstract: An improved door design for soft-sided golf cart covers increases the ease of entry and exit. This product features a horizontal swing out design that removes the need for snaps or zippers and significantly increases size of the door opening. This improved door design features a magnetic door that eliminates zipper failure, simplifies entry and exit and improves the overall golf cart cover experience and longevity of the cover.

Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention provides a passive water management system for vehicle doors. One or more water management troughs are formed into the inner door panel of the vehicle door at least partially encircling one or more holes or opening through the inner door panel. Strips of adhesive material are provided proximate to and extending along each side of the water management trough. A water deflector sheet of water shedding material is secured to the inner door panel by the adhesive strips, such that the strips, water management trough and deflector sheet form a conduit for routing water to drain holes draining into the door cavity thereby preventing water incursion through the inner door panel openings from reaching the vehicle interior. A method of managing water seeping into a vehicle door is also disclosed.

Abstract: A mirror assembly includes a reflective element portion and a molded portion formed of a multi-void, lightweight structure. Abstract: A vehicle slider assembly has a frame, upon which a fixed panel and an upper and a lower track are attached, and a slider panel assembly that moves in the tracks. The frame defines a window opening that the moving slider panel assembly opens and closes. The interior surfaces of the frame provide constant sealing surfaces for seals attached to the outwardly directed slider panel surfaces. The lower horizontal portion of the frame is adjacent to the lower track and has drain holes through it. The lower track has a reservoir channel defined in it, such that, moisture that is interior to the vehicle slider assembly accumulates in the reservoir channel and flows through the drain holes to the exterior of the vehicle slider assembly. An appliqué may be disposed over the exterior of the lower frame portion so that the flow of the moisture is hidden in an unencumbered and aesthetically pleasing manner.

Abstract: A truck, trailer or other type of vehicle with a pair of swinging door panels for providing access to a rear cargo bay includes a hinge seal that closes an air gap between the door panels and the side body panels of the vehicle when the door is open. The seal is particularly useful when used in conjunction with a dock shelter at a loading dock. The hinge seal can be mounted to each of the vehicle's rear door panels and sealingly engage the side body panels as the door opens, or the seal can be mounted to the side body panel and sealing engage the rear door panel. The window surround assembly includes a fixed windowpane adapted to be disposed within a portion of the window opening. Abstract: The invention concerns a vehicle having a closure with a handle surrounded by a handle bezel, and a method of assembling the handle bezel to the closure. The handle bezel, which may contain a key cylinder, mounts around the handle and includes a retainer bracket having a retaining clip. The retaining clip includes fastener retention tabs that engage with a fastener extending from an inner surface of the closure. Abstract: The truck security system emits an audible alarm when a cargo door is open and a driver or other person working on the truck goes beyond a defined distance, generally the immediate vicinity, from the truck exposing cargo to possible theft. In a truck having more than one cargo door, an alarm is sounded if more than one door is open simultaneously. If an attempt is made to start the engine with a door open, the system sounds an alarm in the cab and ignition is prevented. The system includes sensing means to detect if cargo doors are opened or closed, control logic circuitry and a clock, a RF signal receiver, an ignition cut-off, an audible alarm and a battery to independently power the security system, all of which are situated on the truck.

Abstract: A self-engaging rod retaining clip assembly for retaining a rod and a method of retaining the rod to a vehicle closure support component is disclosed. The self-engaging rod retaining clip assembly holds a rod retaining clip in a desired position on a vehicle closure support component until the rod is installed. Installing the rod includes pressing the rod against a rod pivoting flange, which causes clip retention flanges to flex outward around a clip support arm until the rod is sufficiently retained inside a rod channel in the support component. The clip retention flanges then snap towards each other to retain the clip, and hence the rod, in the support component.

Abstract: A two-component adhesive or sealant composition consists of a first component (K1) comprising a prepolymer P, which displays an isocyanate group, and an acceleration component (K2). The said acceleration component (K2) displays a catalyst, which catalyzes the reaction of isocyanate groups and which is a lead, zinc, or iron (III) complex, as well as compounds displayed on isocyanate-reactive groups that are at most 1% by weight. In particular, adhesives with a high cure velocity and good adhesion can be obtained and adapted very easily to ambient conditions.
Abstract: A vehicle windowpane holder (1) includes a glass holding section (7) extending from a leg portion (2), in which a windowpane receiving groove (6) is defined by gradually broadening opposed surface portions (3, 4) and a bottom surface portion (5). Weir portions (21) are formed at both side edges of the opposed surface portions-(3, 4) so as to close both ends of the windowpane receiving groove (6). The weir portions (21) are gradually inclined outwards and removed, upon insertion of the windowpane. When the windowpane holder (1) is to be assembled to the windowpane (14), an adhesive agent (24) is injected into the windowpane receiving groove (6), and the windowpane (14) is inserted into the windowpane receiving groove (6) from its opening side. By this, the weir portions (21) are caused to be gradually inclined outwards and removed, and the windowpane holder (1) and the windowpane (14) are adhered to each other by the adhesive agent, to produce a vehicle window assembly (15).
Abstract: In one embodiment, an automotive vehicle is disclosed having a vehicle body with a first pillar, a second pillar, a roof member and a floor member defining a door opening therebetween. A lateral side entry door is pivotally connected to the vehicle body for enclosing the door opening. The side entry door moves along an operating path having a closed position and an open position. The vehicle has a motor and a lead screw mounted in the side entry door and connected to the motor to be driven by the motor. The vehicle has a link connected to the lead screw and connected to the vehicle body adjacent to the door opening. The motor drives the lead screw to translate the link to open and close the side entry door.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing an opening leaf upper module intended to be mounted at the periphery of a glass panel of a vehicle, and to an opening leaf upper module of this type particularly comprising a rigid frame and a flexible weather strip. The method of manufacturing an opening leaf upper module (1) according to the invention, comprising a molded frame (3) based on at least one thermoplastic polymer and a molded weather strip (4) secured to the frame and based on at least one elastomer, comprises a step whereby a moving-platen mold or alternatively transfer molding is used to perform multiple-shot injection molding of materials that are intended to form the frame and the strip which are injected in succession, the elastomer being a thermoplastic elastomer compatible with this thermoplastic polymer, so as to obtain the module formed as a single piece.
