The lower frame has left and right members that can be connected to each other such that the left and right members are positionable relative to one another between a first position and a second position when the lower frame is disconnected from the upper frame. A second frame can be rotatable between an angularly spaced position and a collapsed position along bends formed on a first frame portion.

The structure provides an improved method of assembly using stretchable fabric spaced between opposing side frame members. Inserts attached to the fabric are used to selectively draw the fabric towards the side frames with threaded members so that a desirable tension can be applied to the fabric for comfort and aesthetic purposes. When worn the fabric can be easily replaced in the field by unskilled consumers.

Abstract: A structure for combining a back pad and a bottom pad of a leisure chair is disclosed. The leisure chair is formed by a back frame, a bottom frame, and a plurality of legs; a back pad and a bottom pad are formed on the back frame and the bottom frame. Supporting frames of the back frame and the bottom frame are formed with joint portions, respectively. The back pad and the bottom pad are pads of whole pieces. Two sides of the back pad and bottom pad have assembly portions installed in the joint portions, respectively. By the assembly portions at two sides of the back pad and the bottom pad passing through the joint portions two sides of the back frame and the bottom frame, the leisure chair has the effect of being assembled and detached easily with less time and power. Moreover, the structure of the leisure chair is enhanced.

The first anchor sections and the second anchor sections may be fastened respectively to the first fastening sections and the second fastening sections through first and second fasteners to compete a chair. The rear legs are detachable from the chair bracket and the front legs for stacking separately to save storing space.

Abstract: A chair with a disconnectable back so that the back can be moved from its normally upright mounted position relative to the seat to be placed against the seat so as to minimize space to facilitate shipping of the chair. The seat has a pair of receiving cavities located at the back edge of the seat. The back has a pair of protuberances which are to engage with the receiving cavities. The back also includes a spring biased pin assembly that is to deflect when moving of the back between a pair of armrest frames with the spring biased pin assemblies engaging with holes formed within each armrest frame thereby locking in place the back with the seat achieving the normal usage position for the chair.

Abstract: An easily assembled and disassembled modular furniture system is disclosed. The furniture system includes a base frame having a front member, a first side member, a second side member and a rear member. A plurality of furniture modules including a first arm module, a second arm module and one of a spring nest module and a sleeper module are mounted to the base frame using a plurality of fastener assemblies. Each fastener assembly includes two portions: a stud member and an aligning receptacle bracket. Each of the stud members and said brackets are secured to opposing locations of the base frame and at least one of the modules so that the modules may be positioned upon the frame by engaging the aligning receptacle brackets upon the corresponding stud members without the use of tools.

Abstract: A method of constructing upholstered furniture is provided using unitary ends which are covered with molded polymeric foam cushions. The construction method saves time and reduces the cost of the finished furniture while allowing relatively unskilled workers to produce top quality furniture in an efficient manner.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the folding chair of the present invention, a seat back support integrally formed with the front legs of the folding chair is bent forward at a particular angle, at a particular height above the seating surface, to provide comfortable lower back support for a person sitting on the seat, while maintaining stability. According to another aspect of the invention, a cushion for use on the seat back of the chair is disclosed. The cushion has a particular shape with portions that are intended to interlock with a correspondingly shaped apertures in the seat back of the chair. The cushions may be removed for cleaning or replacement with little trouble. In another aspect, the seating surface of the folding chair is contoured with a gentle s-shape.

Abstract: The present invention provides an adjustable frame member for a chair seat frame and a lockable alignment tool which is implemented between the chair seat frame and an attachable seat back. Initially, the chair seat frame is pre-assembled such that the adjustable frame member is in a non-rigid state, therefore allowing for side to side skewing motion of the chair seat frame. The lockable alignment tool is mounted onto the seat back, in its unlocked position. Once the lockable alignment tool is mounted to the seat back, it is locked such that its length is fixed. The lockable alignment tool is then removed from the seat back and mounted onto the seat frame. As the lockable alignment tool is mounted onto the seat frame, skewing motion of the seat frame is caused as the seat frame aligns with the lockable alignment tool. Once the lockable alignment tool has been fully mounted to the chair frame, screws are used to lock the adjustable frame member. As such, the adjustable frame member becomes a rigid structure.

Abstract: The invention resides in a new reinforced furniture strut, a method of constructing furniture in a modular fashion using a reinforcing strut and a method of constructing a chair in modular fashion incorporating the reinforcing strut for narrow package shipping. This invention satisfies the long felt need of providing furniture that may be repeatedly assembled and disassembled without substantial wear and damage to the furniture materials, yet result in a stable, high-quality piece of furniture, and without unappealing external bracing or the like. The present invention solves these problems by providing a strut containing a metal (or other rigid material) rod encased in the material the furniture is constructed of. The ends of the rod are threaded to allow the strut to be affixed to the furniture piece with a nut or bolt. These reinforcing struts appear to be ordinary furniture components but instead possess the strength of metal.

Abstract: A backrest for a chair comprising two parts constructed and arranged to interlock around chair back supports. Each part is preferably molded, and has a rib structure which provides positioning means for assembly on the supports. A hook and hook receiver arrangement provide a locking means for firm attachment of the parts to the supports. Decorative cushions can be applied to the parts before or after locking them to the supports. The invention is not limited to folding chairs.

Abstract: A sling chair having side rails which connect to a cross member spanning the side rails. Each side rail has an extension bearing a socket which accepts insertion of one end of the cross member. The chair has a fabric seating member retained conventionally to the side rails. The cross member and side rails provide both a structural frame for the sling chair as well as a frame for the fabric seating member. The novel construction reduces the traditional redundant separate chair and sling frames to one frame.

The middle portions of the bars each has a flat recess engaged with each other for maintaining the bars at the cross-shape. Four pads are engaged on the bars and engaged between the bars and the panels.

Abstract: A compressed upholstered furniture assembly kit, method of manufacture and assembled article of furniture. A consumer-assembled article of furniture having upholstered portions is provided in a manner which comports with the shipping, warehousing and display constraints of retailers and which accommodates a variety of consumer decorating tastes. The kit includes frame members and reduced volume padding. This padding, when exposed to air at atmospheric pressure expands to its natural size and shape. The padding may include a porous protective cover which is applied prior to reducing its volume, and may also include a bladder to which fluid is added to provide further expansion. The expanded padding provides cushions which are covered with separately available decorative, fitted covers to form upholstered pieces, which are then applied to the assembled frame to form a completed article of furniture.

One of each pair of plates is part of an angle, one wing of which is the plate and the other wing of which is attached to the connector strip. A number of metal nut fasteners are mounted in the retainer rings, respectively. Each nut fastener has a screw hole to allow the armrest to be mounted to a base by screws. A number of engaging plates are provided for securely engaging the upper cover with the lower cover. The metal nut fasteners can be easily removed by breaking the retainer rings.
