Abstract: Apparatus including a monolithic, motor/generator phase insulation article having a manufactured state and a ready-to-use state. The insulation article has longitudinally-spaced-apart first and second tabs and flexible, transversely-spaced-apart first and second legs each having a first end monolithically joined to the first tab and a second end monolithically joined to the second tab. The first and second tabs are disposed longitudinally closer together in the manufactured state than in the ready-to-use state. In the manufactured state the first and second legs each have a more serpentine shape, and in the ready-to-use state the first and second legs each have a less serpentine shape. A method for manufacturing the insulation article is also described which cuts a monolithic, substantially-rectangular sheet of motor/generator phase insulation to create the insulation article.

Abstract: A brushless motor stator is provided that may be applied to a plurality of types of motors having different rotational speeds, merely by providing one type of a circuit substrate. A pair of fitting convex portions that project radially outside of a virtual circle centering on a center line C are formed on one insulator divided body of a slot insulator. Three pairs of diagonally located fitting concave portions are formed in an inner circumferential wall portion surrounding a through-hole of a circuit substrate. The pair of fitting convex portions of the one insulator divided body are fitted in one of the three pairs of fitting concave portions. With this, a positional relationship between three hall elements and stator magnetic poles is selected, corresponding to the speed range of a motor to be used.

Abstract: An insulation assembly is provided that includes a generally annularly-shaped main body and at least two spaced-apart fingers extending radially inwards from the main body. The spaced-apart fingers define a gap between the fingers. A slot liner may be inserted within the gap. The main body may include a plurality of circumferentially distributed segments. Each one of the plurality of segments may be operatively connected to another of the plurality of segments to form the continuous main body. The slot liner may be formed as a single extruded piece defining a plurality of cavities. A plurality of conductors (extendable from the stator assembly) may be axially inserted within a respective one of the plurality of cavities. The insulation assembly electrically isolates the conductors in the electric motor from the stator stack and from other conductors.

  • Patent number: 8212449
Abstract: A stator core for a rotary electric machine is provided. The stator includes an annular stator core having a plurality of slots punched and arranged in the circumferential direction, being straight in the axial direction, and a stator winding consisting of wire members. The wire members have respective straight portions accommodated in respective slots. Each of the wire members has a conductor portion having a rectangular cross section and an insulating coating covering the conductor portion. An adhesive member is provided between each of the straight portions and the wall surface of each slot. In each slot, the adhesive member adheres the straight portions to the wall surface. Thus, the stator core can maintain the space factor of the wire members accommodated in each slot and suppress vibration of the wire members during the operation of the rotary electric machine to reliably reduce generation of peculiar noise or magnetic noise.
