Abstract: A power tool includes a shaft rotatable about an axis and configured to drive a tool element, a motor armature, a first field coil, and a second field coil. First and second symmetrical stack parts each include a pole piece that is configured to receive respective first and second field coils. The first field coil is coupled to the pole piece of the first stack part such that portions of the first field coil extend past pole tips of the first stack part, and the second field coil is coupled to the pole piece of the second stack part such that portions of the second field coil extend past pole tips of the second stack part. The first stack part is coupled to the second stack part such that the first stack part and the second stack part together define an aperture that surrounds the shaft axis.

Abstract: A toothbrush drive includes a first drive component for generating a magnetic field and a second drive component driven in both a translational and rotational manner under the influence of the magnetic field. A transmission element is deflected out of a predetermined position for transmission of both translational and rotary movement of the second drive component. The deflection of the transmission element varies along its longitudinal axis. A transmission element can be deflected out of a predefined position for transmission of a translatory movement and a rotational movement of the second drive component to the brush element along a longitudinal axis of the transmission element. The deflection of the transmission element out of the predefined position is varied along the longitudinal axis of the transmission element.

  • Patent number: 8664917
Abstract: The present disclosure includes an adapter and associated method of use for mobile unit (MU) charging and communication that enables multiple connector types to be utilized with a single charger or charging station. The adapter enables standardization of a connector scheme on newer MUs while maintaining compatibility with current or older MU devices. Specifically, the adapter resides between the MU and a charging device or station. The adapter may include various connector features mimicking connectors of various different MUs, thus allowing it to interface with a device of a different connector design. Advantageously, the adapter enables enterprises to deploy various cradles throughout facilities and achieves universal connections for a plurality of different MUs. In an exemplary embodiment, the adapter provides connectivity between various MUs and their associated cradles and a hook and pivoting latching system.
