Abstract: Apparatus for supporting an audio/video system, the system including a thin screen video display unit, video components operatively coupled to the display unit for generating video signals displayable by the unit, and audio components for generating audio signals, includes an elevator mechanism for the display unit and an exterior housing. The exterior housing includes a top opening sized to permit upward and downward movement of the display unit through the opening. The video and audio components are fixedly mounted to, the housing. The elevator mechanism extends upwardly within the housing and comprises an elevator platform adapted to carry the display unit between a lower position where the display unit when carried by the platform is retracted into the mechanism and an upper position where the display unit when carried by the platform is deployed above both the elevator mechanism and the exterior housing.

Abstract: A portable unit includes a body having a bottom panel, a wall extending upward from the bottom panel and surrounding at least a portion of the bottom panel to define an interior area; a lid moveably connected with the body, the lid moveable between an open position and a closed position; and a video monitor connected with the lid, the video monitor moveable between an open and a closed position. In the closed position the video monitor may be oriented substantially parallel to the lid. The video monitor may be connected to one or more electronic devices for providing live broadcast or recorded video.

Abstract: An artistic flat panel concealment screen is shown for discretely concealing a display device or the like, when the device is not in use. The invention can be articulated using a set of panels and mechanical hinges, which expose the display device for use when the invention is in the “open” position. In the open position, the panels are permitted to fold out of the way and preferably flat against an adjacent surface through use of riser plates. When the display is not in use, the panels of the invention can be “closed” to conceal the unused display device behind a piece of “art” or décor that is applied to the outside of the panels. The panels of the invention span a concealment box that is used to surround the display device and provide the enclosure for the device. The concealment box may either be an external structure mounted to the surface of an existing wall or may be a recess into a wall or other structure of a building such as a bookshelf or furniture piece.

A force assist manual lift or an automated lift can be used to raise (and lower) the appliance. The force assist lift can have one or more pivotally and over center mounted gas springs to assist raising the appliance. The automated lift can have a motor driving one or more cables, wound through sheaves, to raise and lower the appliance. The entire assembly is preferably concealed in a furniture quality container until it is raised through a top opening for use.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the so-called flat-screen television sets and video monitors and to cabinets therefor. Flat screen television sets and video monitors presently come in two different forms, namely those with a plasma screens on the one hand, and those with LCD screens on the other. In modem home design, in any living room in which a television or video monitor is positioned, the seating is generally angled, so that people can readily view the screen of such. Such an arrangement causes difficulties in that a television set or video monitor is a focus of the room, even when not in use. Other problems exist in that the flat-screen display is not generally considered as an aesthetically pleasing design. Furthermore, having an expensive or moderately expensive item of electrical equipment on permanent display within a room can pose a security risk.

Abstract: An LCD television in which a cable is fixed firmly with no possibility of loosening and the rigidity of its cabinet is enhanced. In the cabinet composed of a front cabinet and a rear cabinet, the cable extended from a speaker is passed through latch ribs in a zigzag manner on a cable path on the inside of a front wall of the front cabinet. When the front cabinet and the rear cabinet are joined, the latch ribs are engaged with latch rib receptacles. As a consequence, the cable is firmly fixed on the cable path and never comes off the latch ribs. The latch ribs engaged with the latch rib receptacles also function as reinforcement ribs to increase the rigidity of the television cabinet which constitutes an LCD television.

When the display elements are folded, the outer surface of the display elements can be protected. The case includes a foldable panel housing receiving at least two flat display panel elements. The panel housing is provided with an opening such that when the panel housing is unfolded, the adjacent sides of the flat display elements closes contact each other. The case further includes a hinge supporting member for providing the folding/unfolding operation of the panel housing and a cover for covering a side of the flat display elements, which is exposed through the opening, to protect the display elements.

Abstract: A retaining mechanism for use on a Operator Interface Terminal (OIT). The OIT provides a partition between an operator working in a harsh environment and a control computer and monitor in a conditioned environment. The retaining mechanism includes two support pads mounted to the back side of the partition. The support pads support the bottom portion of the monitor. A retaining strap is affixed to the back side of the partition. The retaining strap holds the monitor against the partition.

Abstract: A network cabinet is provided comprising a door comprising first and second opposing lateral sides. A hinge lever is rotatably connected to the door and a retractable hinge pin is connected to the hinge lever and is positioned closer to the first lateral side of the door than the second lateral side. A lever stop is also connected to the door and is associated with the hinge lever. The lever stop prevents retraction of the hinge pin from an extended position with the second lateral side of the door in an open position.

Abstract: A network cabinet is provided comprising at least one vertical frame rail and a cable management unit. The vertical frame rail comprises first and second opposing sidewalls, each of which define a plurality of apertures positioned along a length of the vertical frame rail. The cable management unit comprises a base, a plurality of fingers extending from the base, and at least one projection extending from the base. The projection is constructed of a size and shape such that the projection engages any one of the apertures of the first sidewall.

Abstract: A network cabinet is provided comprising a base member, two pairs of vertical frame rail members connected to the base member, and a top cover supported by at least one of the vertical frame rail members. The base member defines an opening and another opening is defined in the top cover. The vertical frame rail members are positioned spaced apart from four sidewalls from four corners of the cabinet formed by the four sidewalls, where each sidewall comprises a panel or a door. The two pairs of vertical frame rail members and the four sidewalls define at least one cable management pathway and at least a portion of the cable management pathway is vertically aligned with at least a portion of the opening of the base member and the opening of the top cover.

Each bracket has a plurality of slot portions that have first slots, and second slots that extend from the first slots, widths of the second slots being smaller than widths of the first slots. The plurality of lockers are combined with the front mask and include guides that are inserted into the second slots and stoppers that extend from the guides. Diameters of the guides are smaller than the widths of the first slots and greater than widths of the second slots.

Abstract: A speaker bracket, speaker baffle, and a speaker cover are provided for standardizing speaker box assemblies for television sets having different sized speakers. A speaker box assembly includes a speaker cover having a stepped inverted surface. A speaker bracket is then installed onto the speaker cover using a securing member. A surface of the speaker bracket is then mated with a speaker bore. The speaker bracket can have a stepped inclined surface sized to closely fit inside the stepped inverted surface of the speaker cover. The step of installing the speaker bracket onto the speaker cover then includes fitting the stepped inclined surface of the bracket with the stepped inverted mating surface of the speaker cover. The speaker cover has an elliptical frustum surface having steps that create an increasing circumference at fixed intervals along a length of the speaker box, and includes grooves that run along the length of the speaker box, perpendicular to the steps.

Abstract: An adjustable home entertainment cabinet for enclosing television sets of different sizes comprises a pair of movable tower cabinets and a bridge assembly that extends between the cabinets. A center section of the bridge rests on the tops of the cabinets. A bookshelf or shelf box is mounted on an underside of the center section. End sections movably mounted on the center section extend downwardly to cover gaps between the bookshelf and the inner sides of the tower cabinets. The center section includes a cornice molding that matches and is aligned with cornice molding on the tops of the tower cabinets. The end sections have a matching cornice molding that overlays and conceals the gap between the cornice moldings on the end sections and tower cabinets. Free standing television sets can rest on the floor. Table model sets and monitors can rest on free standing TV stands/storage cabinets of different widths that fit snugly between the tower cabinets.

Abstract: A case for a portable display device is provided which can realize a large-sized screen by interconnecting a plurality of display elements. When the display elements are unfolded, the adjacent sides of the display elements closely contact each other, thereby minimizing the non-display area. Abstract: The hinge assembly includes a housing and a monitor bezel for supporting a video monitor. The bezel is pivotally mounted on the housing about a pivot axis. A friction member is attached to one of the housing and the bezel and positioned and in sliding contact with a contact surface of the other of the housing and the bezel. The friction member is radially spaced apart from the pivot axis. A bias member biases the friction member against the contact surface. The pivoting of the bezel about the pivot axis causes the friction member to slide along the contact surface.

Abstract: An audio visual system is provided comprising a housing, a video display, at least one speaker support coupled to at least one of the display and the housing, and at least one speaker mounted to and supported by the speaker support, the housing and the at least one speaker each having a front wall, the display and the at least one speaker support being movable from a first state, where the display and the at least one speaker, which is in a first position, are in the housing and hidden from view when viewing the front wall of the housing, to a second state, where the display and the at least one speaker are spaced from the housing and at least partially unobstructed thereby with the at least one speaker being in a second position differently spaced from the display than when in the first position. Among the many advantages of the invention is that the video display and speakers can be hidden from view when the system is not in use.

Abstract: In an electronic equipment, cushion members 11 are provided in a casing 10. Cleaning members 12 are provided in a subcasing 31 that is capable of performing relative movement with respect to the casing 10.
