Concentricity Or Eccentricity Patents (Class 33/543)
  • Patent number: 5014001
Abstract: The test-probe manipulator for a test probe for use with semiconductor wafers utilizes three adjusting spindles (50,51,52) arranged on the same side of the manipulator. The test-probe manipulator occupies little space and is easy to operate. All three axes of translational freedom perform linear motions independent of each other. Accuracy of adjustment is improved as compared to conventional devices. Easy placement on and removal from a test platform are ensured.

  • Patent number: 4977682
Abstract: An ovality gauge includes an elongated frame member carrying a roller support arm having a pair of rollers rotatably mounted to the roller support arm and spaced apart from each other. Preferably the rollers are adjustable to various positions. The ovality gauge also includes a moveable contact spaced from the pair of rollers, with the moveable contact and rollers in a plane parallel to the elongated frame member. The moveable contact is connected to an indicator means whereby movement of the moveable contact with respect to the pair of rollers is detected and indicates deviations of a cylindrical member contacting the gauge from perfect roundness.

  • Patent number: 4754551
Abstract: A centering gauge tool for determining if an axial bore is disposed concentrically relative to a desired center. The tool preferably has four sensing fingers equally spaced about a conical core, the finger being resiliently biased away from the surface of the core and depressible against the resilient urging into engagement with an electrical contact member connected in a circuit with lights and a source of electrical energy. When the tool is inserted within the bore of a workpiece and the bore is concentric about the axis of the workpiece relative to axes the tool, all of the indicator fingers will be depressed substantially simultaneously to light all the indicators. If the bore is eccentric, when the tool is inserted within the bore less than all the fingers will engage the wall of the bore and effect a lighting of less than all the indicators.

  • Patent number: 4711037
Abstract: A measuring device for universal application includes a parallel-crank mechanism directly rotary mounted on the slider of an isosceles centered slider-crank mechanism. The measuring element or pin is adapted on the coupler of the constrained guide mechanism. All points of coupler plane including the measuring element are moved along exactly straight lines parallel to each other at right angle to the axis of the slider. The simple change-over of a lever against its other abutment turns the active direction of a spring and enables the resetting of the measuring device from internal to external measurement. Alternatively, two-point or three-point or relative measurements can be executed. The modular unit system permits, if desired, an arrangement of two or more of the constrained guide linkages according to the invention on the sliding axis whose sliders are rigidly connected in groups of preferably three.

  • Patent number: 4663857
Abstract: A device for measuring interference and wall thickness of a half cylindrical plain bearing includes a bearing support block provided with a substantially semi-cylindrical shaped recess for receiving the plain bearing, a pressing mechanism for closely pressing the plain bearing against the recess, a substantially semi-columnar shaped wall thickness measuring head having a smaller outer diameter than the inner diameter of the plain bearing when it closely contacts with the recess, and a positioning mechanism for establishing a predetermined positional relationship between the recess and the wall thickness measuring head upon measurement. The bearing support block carries a detector or detectors for measuring interference of the half cylindrical plain bearing, and the wall thickness measuring head incorporates measuring instruments such as air micrometers.

  • Patent number: 4642902
Abstract: An apparatus for determining deviations of a circular form of a dynamically balanced part characterized by a spindle which can be set in approximate alignment with the axis of the unit under test, an interval sensor rotated around the spindle axis for radially sensing a circumferential surface of the unit under test and electronic signal processing unit for separating a deviation signal component of the sensor signal created by a deviation from the circular form that is detected from other signal components of the sensor signal which are created from an eccentric setting of the spindle with respect to the axis of the unit under test. As a result of such a signal analysis, errors occurring from the eccentric spindle setting are practically avoided. Thus, no high demands are made for the spindle setting when making, for example, a roundness check of a steel pipe.

  • Patent number: 4630377
Abstract: A gage for indicating the runout condition of a valve seat edge formed by and between adjacent surfaces of a valve seat adjacent one end of a valve guide bore and concentric with the axis thereof, the valve guide bore accommodating an elongated pilot member that extends therefrom through the valve seat surfaces. The gage comprises a housing member adapted to be mounted on the pilot member in fixed spaced relationship from the valve seat and having a dial indicator mounted thereon at a location spaced radially from the pilot member, and a work engaging member mounted for rotatable and axial movement on the pilot member in the space between the housing and the valve seat. The dial indicator has a plunger member extending therefrom substantially parallel to the pilot member and an indicator needle operatively connected to the plunger member and movable in response to movements of the plunger member to produce a visual indication as to the position of the plunger member.
