Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a drying device capable of preventing entanglement of a hollow fiber membrane in a drying chamber and preventing diameter reduction and flattening of the hollow fiber membrane. This drying device includes the drying chamber having a heating means disposed therein, a guide roll that causes at least two hollow fiber membranes (A) to travel inside the drying chamber, and at least two winding bobbins disposed outside the drying chamber. The drying device simultaneously dries at least two hollow fiber membranes (A) in the drying chamber while winding one hollow fiber membrane (A) on one winding bobbin. A rotation speed control means is attached separately to each of the at least two winding bobbins.

Abstract: A non-woven fabric includes flame retardant fibers and binding material mixed with the flame retardant fibers. The binding material sets a thickness of the fabric. Application of a flame to the fabric causes the binding material to degrade and the flame retardant fibers to expand to prevent a flame from passing through a hole in a wall of an appliance, a building, or an appliance and/or to protect wiring of an appliance, a building, or an appliance.

Abstract: A drying method is provided through a particular arrangement of air intake- and air exhaust roofs, wherein the particular material flows are not only impacted by intake air in an alternating manner from the left and from the right, but also an accumulation of air intake roofs and air exhaust roofs is avoided, which otherwise typically occurs at the separation plane between two chute modules, rotated relative to one another by 180°, which is performed for changing the side of the air impact. This method is advantageous in particular for drying parboiled rice.

Abstract: A process to upgrade heavy oil and convert the heavy oil into lower boiling hydrocarbon products is provided. The process employs a catalyst slurry comprising catalyst particles with an average particle size ranging from 1 to 20 microns. In the upgrade process, spent slurry catalyst in heavy oil is generated as an effluent stream, which is subsequently recovered/separated from the heavy oil via membrane filtration. Residual hydrocarbons, i.e., heavy oil and solvent employed in the filtration for the heavy oil extraction are removed from the catalyst particles in a drying zone which employs at least two drying apparatuses to volatize residual hydrocarbons in the catalyst. Valuable metals can be recovered from catalyst particles for subsequent re-use in a catalyst synthesis unit, generating a fresh slurry catalyst.
