Publication number: 20150137957Abstract: A wirelessly deployable marker system is provided that allows a user to remotely activate one or more marker flags from individual marker flag assemblies when marking the location of landmarks and obstacles on a lawn. Each marker assembly comprises an elongated marker flag supported by a housing and spring-biased within the housing to elevate the marker into a deployed state. A solenoid latch secures the marker flag within the housing when pressed thereinto, while a wireless transmitter is used to activate the solenoid and therefore release the marker flag from the housing. The solenoid latch engages the marker flag when the flag is within the housing, and allows a spring to elevate the marker flag from the housing when the solenoid latch is withdrawn from the flag. In this way, the flag is remotely deployable, and thereafter can be inserted into the housing manually by the user.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2014Publication date: May 21, 2015Inventor: Vincent Glispy

Publication number: 20150022328Abstract: A communication system and method are provided for remotely reproducing a touch pattern or gesture as a vibrotactile output. At a touch screen, a first user device receives a touch pattern by a first user, characterizes the touch pattern as a touch pattern data based upon time and intensity of touch at a plurality of array points of the touch screen, and communicates the touch pattern data to a network. A tactile array of micro-vibratory devices is attached to a garment and worn by a second user. The touch pattern data is wirelessly received from the first user device via the network. Vibration of selected micro-vibratory devices of the tactile array is modulated in timing and intensity in response to the touch pattern data to reproduce the touch pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2014Publication date: January 22, 2015Inventor: Sambhu Choudhury

Publication number: 20150015377Abstract: A load control system may include multiple control devices that may send load control messages to load control devices for controlling an amount of power provided electrical loads. To prevent collision of the load control messages, the load control messages may be transmitted using different wireless communication channels. Each wireless communication channel may be assigned to a load control group that may include control devices and load control devices capable of communicating with one another on the assigned channel. A control device may send load control messages to a load control device within a transmission frame allocated for transmitting load control messages. The transmission frame may include equal sub-frames and load control messages may be sent at a random time within each sub-frame. Control devices may detect a status event within a sampling interval to offset transmissions from multiple control devices based on detection of the same event.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2014Publication date: January 15, 2015Applicant: Lutron Electronics Co., Inc.Inventors: John H. Publication number: 20150015378Abstract: A remote control device (1) for remotely controlling an appliance (A) is provided. The remote control device (1) comprises a contact sensing facility (10), a control mode selection facility (20), an input facility (30), a processor facility (40) and a transmission facility (50). The contact sensing facility (10) determines a degree of physical contact between the remote control device and a user (U) and generates a mode control signal (Smc) indicative for this degree. The control mode selection facility (20) selects one of a plurality of selectable operational modes (M1, M2, M3) of the remote control device dependent on the degree indicated by the mode control signal. The selectable operational modes enable respective subsets of user control modes from a plurality of user control modes. The input facility (30) is arranged to receive user input and generating a user input signal (Sinp) indicative for the user input.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 20, 2013Publication date: January 15, 2015Inventors: Dzmitry Viktorovich Aliakseyeu, Jonathan David Mason
