Abstract: A remote control system using a handheld electronic device to remotely control electrical appliances includes a handheld electronic device and a command conversion device. The handheld electronic device uses a command input device to generate operation information. A command recognizing module receives the operation information, and identifies the corresponding home appliance remote control code. A wireless emission module emits a home appliance remote control code, which is received by the command conversion device. The command conversion device determines the infrared execution command corresponding to the home appliance remote control code. The infrared execution command is emitted by the infrared emission module to remotely control home appliances with the infrared remote control function. The handheld electronic device is enabled to provide a variety of different operating modes without significantly increasing the cost of the entire system.

Abstract: A control radio communication system includes a relay station and a child station, each incorporating a radio communication unit further including a receiver and a transmitter. The receiver detects whether or a signal transmitted from the upper layer corresponds to an emergency command. The signal not corresponding to the emergency command is converted into an internal code while the signal corresponding to the emergency command is converted into a High/Low signal to be output via the signal terminal of GPIO. The transmitter of a relay station produces a compacted packet corresponding to the emergency command with a data length shorter than the data length of a packet corresponding to a general command, thus transmitting the compacted packet to the lower layer via radio. Abstract: A radio remote controller precisely transfers user's intended control. A radio communication module transmits control data for controlling a controlled device by radio communications to provide remote control to the controlled device. The radio communication module includes a communication control section, and a communication section. The communication control section creates transmission data by adding repeat information to the control data to be transmitted to the controlled device, with the repeat information being indicative of whether to repeatedly control a function of the controlled device controlled by the control data. The communication section successively outputs the transmission data created by the communication control section via a radio signal.

Abstract: A controlling device such as a remote control has programming for transmitting a signal response to a plurality of control environments, each environment including a signaling device. Each signaling device in receipt of the signal request sends a signal response having a unique ID which is chosen to be characteristically attenuated by the surroundings of the environment. Because the controlling device can only be in one environment at a given time, and given the attenuation characteristics of the signal response from each signaling device, only one signal response will be received by the controlling device in each environment. Location definitions associated with the received unique ID may be used by programming in the controlling device to recall saved devices states, commands sets, macros, and even to dynamically generate commands based on the location information.

Abstract: A mobile communication device such as a smartphone or a tablet-type computer, can establish a local comlink with a wearable defibrillation system. At the same time, the mobile communication device can establish a remote comlink with other devices in a network such as the internet. Accordingly, communication tasks relating to the wearable defibrillation system can be performed via the local and the remote comlinks, with or without the participation of the patient, who is wearing the system. The patient can thus use the familiar interface of a mobile communication device for interacting with his defibrillator system. Moreover, he can do so while keeping on his regular clothes, which could conceal completely the wearable defibrillator system. The patient can thus preserve his dignity and privacy.
