Intelligence Comparison For Controlling Patents (Class 340/5.1)
  • Patent number: 9020436
Abstract: In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media are described that are associated with remote control of media devices. A remote control and a content player may be configured to facilitate a secured pairing process. The remote control may be configured to send non-secured signals (such as through an IR transmitter) as well as send and receive secured signals (such as via an RF transceiver). The remote control may non-securely broadcast an uncompressed identifier of itself. Then, in response to being turned on or asked to pair, the remote control may send a pairing request to the player that includes a compressed identifier. The player may then identify the remote control based on the compressed identifier and the previously-broadcast uncompressed identifier and the remote control and player may then perform a pairing process without requiring additional action on the part of a user. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

  • Patent number: 8884737
Abstract: This invention eliminates unnecessary beacon transmission by a DBD and suppresses the power consumption of each device included in a wireless communication network. This invention provides a communication control method in a host which wirelessly communicates with a DBD via a wireless USB. The method includes the steps of transmitting a capture packet command to a DBD when it is activated, analyzing a received captured signal and determining the presence/absence of another Wimedia device unrecognized by the host, and upon determining that the other Wimedia device unrecognized by the host exists, instructing the activated DBD to transmit a beacon to implement wireless communication synchronized with the host.

  • Patent number: 8869380
Abstract: The light-emitting diode is provided with a lid and is capable of emitting a first predefined color. The card further comprises a near field communications antenna circuit, the circuit and the diode being configured so that the diode emits light when a current of predefined intensity flows in the circuit. More particularly, the lid of the diode is coated with a mass of material forming means for selecting a set of wavelengths from those making up the first color so that the light transmitted through the mass has a second predefined color different from the first color.

Abstract: To provide a control system capable of avoiding communication with an unintended external device when a number of external devices exist outside the device. A control system includes a control device 200 that controls at least one function, and at least one external device 900-1 to 900-n (n is an arbitrary integer) existing outside the control device 200. Further, the control device 200 counts a number of reception signals received from the external device 900-1 to 900-n and suspends communication with the external device 900-1 to 900-n according to the counted number of reception signals.

  • Patent number: 8850519
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing authentication using an arrangement of dynamic graphical images. The graphical images can be arranged as a grid or matrix for presentation on a device display for authentication of a user. The kinds of graphical images can be derived from a designated authentication category and non-authenticating categories. A series of password elements corresponding to the graphical images can be displayed with the graphical images. The user may enter the series of one or more password elements corresponding to graphical images from the authentication category which combine to form a password entry. An authentication server can compare the password entry to an authentication password corresponding to the particular arrangement of dynamic graphical images. The selection of graphical images, their arrangement and their corresponding password elements, may dynamically change in between authentication processes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system for monitoring the water level of a swimming pool or other vessel. The system comprises a monitoring device and a base station. The monitoring device has a sensor for monitoring the water level, and a wireless transceiver for transmitting the water-level information to the base station. The monitoring device is located in the vessel approximate to the desired water level. In the case of a swimming pool, the monitoring device is preferably located in the pool's skimmer. The base station is connected to a valve control means that controls a valve on a fill line. The base station causes the valve to open when water (or fluid) level falls below a threshold and closes the valve when the water level is above a threshold. Thus, the water level may be controlled.

  • Patent number: 8836469
Abstract: A control circuit initiates a relationship-establishment mode of operation and operates in both a learn mode of operation and a pairing mode of operation. When the control circuit completes one of these modes of operation (for example, the learn mode of operation, the pairing mode of operation, or either) the relationship-establishment mode of operation can switch to only using the remaining mode of operation during a remainder of the relationship-establishment mode of operation. One can also disable a previously-established relationship for each of a first category of remote platforms (such as remote platforms that became authorized through a learn mode of operation) when the user presses a button. Upon then detecting a second end-user assertion of the end-user interface, the control circuit can further disable a previously-established relationship with each of a second category of remote platforms (such as remote platforms that became authorized through a pairing mode of operation).

  • Patent number: 8831823
Abstract: In one example, a network device stores a mapping of application operation modes to vehicle conditions such as a first condition of the vehicle powered but not moving and a second condition of the vehicle moving. The network device receives a wirelessly transmitted request for a particular application to utilize an interface powered by the vehicle. The network device compares an application identifier specified by the received request to the mapping. The network device then identifies a portion of the vehicle interface according to the comparison and signals control software on the vehicle to grant the particular application access to only the identified portion of the vehicle interface itself. The application can reside on the mobile device and utilize the vehicle interface as an extended interface, or the application can reside on the vehicle.

A determination is made if the user is recognized and enrolled from the first login account from the first login account identifier. If the user is recognized, a grid of randomly generated visual images is displayed including one visual image from an image category which has been preselected by the user upon enrollment. An image category identifier is randomly assigned to each visual image in the grid. An image category identifier, second login account identifier, such as a password, is entered and received. If the login account identifier and the image category is validated, access is permitted to the computer system or network.
