Intrusion Detection Patents (Class 340/541)
  • Patent number: 10546486
Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting and handling unauthenticated commands in a property monitoring system. In some implementations, a monitoring system may include sensors located throughout a property, a monitoring control unit, and an input device. The monitoring control unit may be configured to receive data collected by the sensors, as well as an input command detected by the input device. For an input command that does not include authentication information, the monitoring control unit may generate property state information based on the sensor data, then analyze the property state data and the input command against one or more rules that relate to authorization of unauthenticated commands. Based on the analysis, the monitoring control unit may determine whether to perform the action corresponding to the input command or whether to perform another action, for example, generating and providing a notification or authorization request to a user.

  • Patent number: 10540552
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method and a device for surveilling an abnormal behavior using 3D image information. The surveilling device converts depth information, which is the 3D image information, into a real world coordinate and uses the real world coordinate to calculate a plane reference distance value. The surveilling device uses the plane reference distance value to generate a background model and compares the background model with the plane reference distance value of a current image to detect a region of interest. Further, the surveilling device extracts the 3D feature information of the region of interest to determine an abnormal behavior of an object.

  • Patent number: 10297117
Abstract: A mass notification terminal may have a data parser and decoder connected to a communications terminal. Announcements may be transmitted to the communications terminal in the form of linguistic symbols and commands using low bandwidth and low power protocol transmissions. Push transmissions conserve bandwidth. An abstraction of an audio announcement may be transmitted for use with a speech synthesizer. The abstraction may be linguistic symbols such as phenomes, text, or may identify pre-stored clips. The system may provide announcement confirmation. The system may take advantage of communication protocols that have message size limitations. The announcements may be sent in one or more message transmissions. When an announcement is composed of multiple messages, using message sequence numbers and announcement identifications may facilitate grouping and arranging of the messages that make up the announcement.

  • Patent number: 10266280
Abstract: A method of performing a cooperative safe landing area determination includes receiving perception sensor data indicative of conditions at a plurality of potential landing areas. A processing subsystem of a vehicle updates a local safe landing area map based on the perception sensor data. The local safe landing area map defines safe landing area classifications and classification confidences associated with the potential landing areas. One or more remotely-generated safe landing area maps are received from one or more remote data sources. The one or more remotely-generated safe landing area maps correspond to one or more additional potential landing areas and non-landing areas. The local safe landing area map and the remotely-generated safe landing area maps are aggregated to form a fused safe landing area map. The fused safe landing area map is used to make a final safe landing area determination.

  • Patent number: 10262319
Abstract: A first device may be implemented within a package that is for transporting a second device requiring activation. The first device may determine whether the package has been opened based on whether a trigger condition has been satisfied. The trigger condition may be satisfied when a value identifying an amount of an electrical property of a conductive structure sealing the package satisfies a first threshold value or when a value identifying an amount of a measurable property associated with the package satisfies a second threshold value. The first device may provide, to a server, a request to activate the second device based on determining that the package has been opened. The request may cause the server to initiate an activation procedure and to activate the second device if the activation procedure succeeds.

  • Patent number: 10249578
Abstract: Devices and methods for resisting or preventing physical tampering of electronic components are described. A tamper resistant apparatus comprises a tampering sensor having a surface at which a first and second conductive portion are disposed. A core-shell particle (or a plurality of particles) is disposed on the surface of the tampering sensor. The core-shell particle has a liquid metallic core and a shell surrounding the core. When tampering occurs, forces associated with the tampering cause the core-shell particle to rupture. The released metallic core material can form a conductive pathway between the first and second conductive portions of the tampering sensor. The tampering sensor triggers a security response when the first and second conductive portions are electrically connected to each other by the metallic material from the ruptured core-shell particle(s).

  • Patent number: 10231297
Abstract: The invention provides a lighting apparatus control switch which uses a detection circuit to monitor a parameter which is dependent on the output current flowing to a lighting load when the lighting apparatus control switch is turned off. The lighting apparatus control switch is configured as an on/off controller or a dimming controller in dependence on the monitored parameter. This lighting apparatus control switch can thus be configured as a dimmable switch, for example implementing leading or trailing edge dimming, or as an on/off switch. The lighting apparatus control switch provides a universal dimmer solution which may be future-proof to allow installation of newer generation lighting loads.

  • Patent number: 10226304
Abstract: A shape sensor system includes a deflection sensor comprising an optical fiber having at least one fiber Bragg grating (FBG) written therein and a substrate, the fiber being attached to the substrate with a selected bias distance from a neutral plane of the deflection sensor. The system further includes an optical source coupled to the fiber to provide input light to be at least partially reflected by the FBG, and an optical detection and processing system arranged to receive at least a portion of the output light and to determine a wavelength shift resulting from a change of an amount of deflection of the deflection sensor. The optical detection and processing system determines a relative amount of deflection of the deflection sensor at the FBG based on the wavelength shift. The selected bias distance is selected based on an expected range of deflection angles to be detected.
