In an embodiment, a subscriber device receives a configuration file that stores a listing of mappings, each association of the listing of mappings maps network characteristics to a service group identification (SGID), a list of transport stream IDs (TSIDs), and a list of radio frequencies (RFs). The subscriber device selects one or more associations, from the listing of mappings, that are related to a network characteristic. Then, the subscriber device tunes to an RF, selected from the list of frequencies associated with a selected association, to identify a TSID of the tuned RF. Upon verifying whether the identified TSID matches a TSID from the list of TSIDs within the selected association, the subscriber device determines that the SGID in the selected association identifies the service group for the subscriber device.

Abstract: Devices (e.g., client media receivers), methods, and program products are provided enabling personal network streaming and concurrent Wide Area Network (WAN) access. In embodiments, the method is carried-out by a client media receiver utilized with a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) and a display device. The method includes the step or process of identifying a user desire to conduct a wireless PVR viewing session utilizing the receiver, while maintaining wireless access to a WAN. When identifying such a user desire, the receiver: (i) creates a personal Local Area Network (LAN) enabling wireless communication between the receiver and the PVR, and (ii) establishes Dual Virtual Antenna (DVA) parameters defining first and second virtual antennae assigned to the WAN and to the personal LAN, respectively. The second virtual antenna is then utilized to support a wireless PVR viewing session, while WAN data is concurrently routed through the first virtual antenna as needed.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for configuration of a Remote PHY or Communications Device, and redirection one or more core device(s) within a content and data delivery network. In one embodiment, the architecture comprises a Remote PHY distributed CCAP architecture within a cable network, and the methods and apparatus provide a network operator with the ability to associate multiple remote devices (and their associated service groups, and hence subscribers) to one or more specific CCAP core(s), to facilitate the operator's operational and support models, including defining and instantiating an overall network topology. In one exemplary variant, information from multiple sources are used by an analytics engine to calculate remote device-to-core assignments, so as to achieve the desired overall operational topology and goals. Improved mechanisms for remote device installation are described. In one implementation, mobile devices are used by installers to interact with the assignment process logic.

The computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a processor, video content. Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards analyzing content, such as Timed Text data that separately accompanies program content, to detect a future program. When a future program is detected in the content, a tag or other data structure is generated with identifying information for the future program. The tag is stored and later used to schedule a recording for the future program. An electronic program guide may be analyzed based on the identifying information in the tag to determine if the future program has been added to the electronic program guide.

Profit redistribution processing is performed according to the accumulated points proportionate to the number of times the content with a commercial video is provided to a client PC. Thus, a fair profit redistribution can be easily performed. Abstract: Provided is a system for cross-network data storage. A gateway is used for connecting a first network and a second network; a client sends an address acquisition instruction and a first IP address and port number of a coder to the gateway, acquires a second IP address and port number of the coder from the gateway, and sends a stream acquisition instruction and a first IP address and port number of a PCNVR to the gateway; the coder receives the address acquisition instruction and sends the second IP address and port of the coder to the gateway; and the PCNVR parses the stream acquisition instruction to acquire the second IP address and port number of the coder, acquires a code stream from the coder via the second network, and stores same. Also provided is a method for cross-network data storage. The method and system of the present invention can be adopted to reduce network bandwidth pressure of an external network, and improve the stability of data storage.

Abstract: Embodiments provide techniques for providing custom digital broadcast video streams. Embodiments include receiving, at a content streaming server, a first video stream to transmit to a client device. A user profile corresponding to a current session on the client device is determined. One or more custom video modifications to apply to the first video stream are also determined, based on the determined user profile. Embodiments apply the determined one or more custom video modifications to the first video stream to create a modified video stream. The modified video stream is then transmitted to the client device.

Abstract: A scalable, multi-platform, seamless Server-side Ad-Insertion system and method with a single stream input and output having an Advertisement Detector and Playlist Instrumenter (ADPI) which puts out Advertisement Break position and duration for an Advertisement Replacement System (ARS) and a Common Instrumented Playlist (CIP) for the users, a Load Switch to balance the ADPI and ARS loads when they need to scale according to user-demand, and a plurality of users on a plurality of devices and platforms communicating with the ARS. The ARS communicates with the Advertisement Server to enable fetching advertisements for every user and reports successful advertisement playback. The CIP contains a list of URLs having Beacon redirections which are added periodically to indicate user presence to the ARS and content URLs. ServeAd redirections is added to the ARS only during advertisement break so that ARS can replace in-stream advertisements.

If the quality of the content distributed in such a manner is degraded (e.g., the amount of delay increases), the content distribution server 11 can control a TV broadcasting apparatus 13 to streaming-distribute the content by on-air broadcast. In addition, the content distribution server 11 can stop broadcasting of the content in accordance with the number of viewers. The present invention is applicable to a content distribution system.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer-readable storage device includes functionality for analyzing a streaming video schedule for one or more scheduling gaps and for streaming supplemental content to fill the one or more scheduling gaps. The streaming video schedule comprises a list of start times, end times, and titles to video segments to be streamed over a computer network. The supplemental content may comprise paid or free content and may be provided by a live linear video stream, a data storage device storing video on demand (VOD) content, digital video recorder (DVR) content, a media server, a content delivery network server, a capture video device, or any combination thereof. Particular embodiments include truncating the supplemental content to fill specific gaps in the streaming video schedule, receiving user input for matching and/or search functionality to select supplemental content for streaming, and/or the like.

The example method also includes an overlap multiplier based on the media campaign, the overlap multiplier an odds ratio, and determining a duplication factor for the media campaign based on the first audience reach, the second audience reach and the overlap multiplier. The example method also includes determining a total audience for the media campaign based on the first audience reach, the second audience reach and the duplication factor.

Abstract: Embodiments attribute network data transfers to applications executing on a computing device. A data transfer service executes on the computing device to receive and process data transfer requests. The data transfer requests, populated by the applications, have identifiers attributed thereto to enable monitoring of the network data transfers per identifier. For example, network data transfers associated with different mail accounts of a mail program or different web sites of browser are attributed separately. Data usage statistics relating to the network data transfers for each identifier may be generated and presented to the user for review.

Abstract: Systems and methods for synchronizing the playback of streamed content on multiple playback devices is disclosed. The systems and methods include receiving time information based on a network time source in the playback devices connected to a defined network. The playback clock in each playback device is set based upon the time information. A first playback device then generates presentation time information including a start time for playback and broadcast the presentation time information to the other playback device over the defined network. The playback devices use the presentation time information to adjust the presentation time stamps of the frames of the media content in the stream.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a video channel allocation management method and related device, and a communication system. The video channel management method includes: receiving a first video data from a first user; querying a first video channel corresponding to the first user; if the first video channel corresponding to the first user is not found through the querying, allocating a second video to the first user, the second video channel being a channel that is currently timed out; and if the second video channel is allocated to the first user, writing the first video data to the second video channel, and tagging that the second video channel belongs to the first user. Technical solutions provided in the embodiments of the present invention facilitate improvement in video channel utilization efficiency, and then may reduce hardware resource deployment as much as possible.

Abstract: A diagnostic system for a DC-DC voltage converter having a low voltage bi-directional MOSFET switch is provided. The low voltage bi-directional MOSFET switch has first and second nodes. The microcontroller samples a first voltage at the first node at a first sampling rate utilizing a first common channel in a first bank of channels to obtain a first predetermined number of voltage samples. The microcontroller determines a first number of voltage samples in the first predetermined number of voltage samples in which the first voltage is less than a first threshold voltage. The microcontroller sets a first voltage diagnostic flag equal to a first fault value if the first number of voltage samples is greater than a first threshold number of voltage samples indicating a voltage out of range low fault condition for the analog-to-digital converter.

Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms described herein facilitate consecutive live ad insertion for live media streams. A live media stream is received and played at a client device. A first ad indicator in the live media stream, indicating a first start point for a first ad period, is detected. Upon reaching the first start point, reception of the live media stream is paused and one or more first replacement ads are played instead of one or more first original ads. Before the first ad period ends, a small portion of the live media stream is fetched in order to detect the presence of a second ad indicator indicating the presence of a second, consecutive ad period in the live media stream. Upon detecting the second ad indicator, one or more second replacement ads are played during the second ad period.

Abstract: A method for creating a single playlist with multiple authors is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a content sharing platform from a first user that is an author of a playlist of the content sharing platform, an indication of a second user to invite as another author of the playlist, the indication comprising an identifier of the second user and permissions corresponding to the second user, sending an invitation to the second user requesting the second user to be an author of the playlist, and when the second user accepts the invitation, storing the identifier of the second user and the permissions as metadata of the playlist, the second user to be allowed to interact with the playlist in accordance with the permissions corresponding to the second user.

The microcontroller has a first port and a second port, and the output of the second relay is based on whether at least one of the first port and the second port is open. The digital ad splicer is configured to operate the ad content cache to download from a content distribution network ad content determined by the control from the proxy, and to receive the ad content from the ad content cache and to splice the ad content into a simultaneously received and rendered linear program content stream.
