  • Patent number: 9900461
Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment, an image forming apparatus comprises a deflector, a photoconductor, a mirror, a displacement mechanism and a control section. The deflector deflects laser light emitted from a light source to an optical path of each color in a horizontal scanning direction. The photoconductor is located in each optical path and forms an image of each color through development of an electrostatic latent image formed by being exposed by the laser light. The mirror is located in each optical path and reflects the laser light to each corresponding photoconductor. The displacement mechanism is arranged on each mirror and displaces the mirror in order to correct an inclination shift between images of respective colors. The control section corrects a magnification of the image of each color in the horizontal scanning direction according to an inclination correction amount of the image of each color.

  • Patent number: 9036198
Abstract: An optical-writing control device calculates correction values for use in correcting a transfer position at which developing-agent images are to be transferred onto a sheet, and overlaying positions at which the developing-agent images are to be overlaid, based on a detection signal output from a sensor upon detection of a correction pattern for use in correcting the transfer position and a correction pattern for use in correcting the overlaying positions. A timing of detecting the pattern for use in correcting the overlaying positions is determined based on a correction value calculated based on the detection signal output upon detection of the pattern for use in correcting the transfer position. The pattern for use in correcting the transfer position is caused to have a width, in the main-scanning direction, that is wider than the width in the main-scanning direction of the pattern for use in correcting the overlaying positions.

  • Patent number: 9025222
Abstract: Methods and systems methods calculate an initial matrix by correlating scanned test device-dependent values to device-independent color space values of a test sheet. The initial matrix converts device-dependent values to device-independent color space values; however, the initial matrix does include some conversion error. Such methods then calculate an inverse matrix from the initial matrix. These methods and systems then calculate target device-dependent values by applying the device-independent color space values to the inverse matrix. The methods and systems derive final one-dimensional look-up tables that isolate the conversion error by correlating the scanned test device-dependent values to the device-independent color space values. These methods and systems then derive a final matrix specific to the scanner by first applying the scanned test device-dependent values to the final one-dimensional look-up tables before creating the final matrix.

  • Patent number: 9007657
Abstract: A method for making a color transform for an output device is provided. The color transform represents a correspondence relation between a first and a second color space. Each of the two color spaces involves a number of color channels and the color channels of the second color space control the colorants in the output device. An excess relation for the color channels of the color space associated with the output device is established and only color points in the second color space wherefor a sum of the excess values related to the color point is lower than a predetermined limit, are included in the color transform. This enables to adapt the shape of a color gamut to a behavior of the colorants and enhances the flexibility in making a color transform for various print processes.
