Abstract: A combined magnifier/lighting apparatus for hand held video games utilizes a directional light source and an angularly adjustable reflective surface disposed opposite the directional source in a frame spaced from the display screen of the hand held device. The use of a directional light source and the adjustable reflective material provides an increased and more diffused lighting effect while eliminating the otherwise experienced hot spots or dark spots common in prior art light assemblies.

Abstract: According to the present invention, the luminescent bag apparatus includes a bag and a light-emitting device attached to the bag. The light-emitting device includes a light source and a circuit for driving the light source. The light source may be a luminescent panel. The circuit may be formed as a circuit board. A switch is connected with the circuit for turning on and off the light source. In an aspect of the present invention, the light source is attached to an internal side of the bag and exposed to the exterior of the bag through a window defined in the bag. The circuit is attached to the internal side of the bag. The light source is connected with the circuit via two wires. A lining is used to cover the light source while another lining is used to cover the circuit. The linings are attached to the bag via ultrasonic adhesion. In another aspect of the present invention, the light source is attached to an external side of the bag. The circuit is attached to an internal side of the bag.

Abstract: An illuminated confection assembly includes a light device, a light transmission element attached to the light device, and an edible confection attached to the light transmission element. The confection has an interior portion that is adapted and constructed to receive light from the light device via the light transmission element. The confection further includes a light passage arrangement which permits light to pass from the interior portion of the confection to the ambient atmosphere and thus be generally observable. The confection can be transparent or translucent, or may be opaque with light passages formed therein. In various embodiments, the confection assembly can include a tube with a reflective inner coating, a confection specifically designed to fit tightly on the tube, a light bulb, a battery, and a switch.

  • Patent number: 6616301
Abstract: A laser flashlight employs an emitter disposed within a housing for emitting a coherent light beam having a gaussian spatial profile along an optical axis toward the exit face of the housing. An optical system disposed within the housing intermediate the emitter and the exit face of the housing includes a laser element pumped by the emitter, a frequency/wavelength converter, and a resonator, to form the coherent light into a laser beam. A beam expander receives the laser beam, disperses the laser beam, and transmits the dispersed laser beam from the light emitting end of the housing into the ambient environment. The dispersion of the laser beam is such that the laser beam is safe for the human eye.
