Abstract: A paint tinter system includes a plurality of canisters disposed in a circle about a rotatable plate. An orbiting plate, driven by a single motor, is connected to drive arms, each of which is connected to a crank arm of a stirrer in one of the canisters. The connection is made through a lost-motion device in a cap covering each canister. The cap captures the end of the drive arm, whereby the cap may be removed and hinged out of the way for providing access to the canister. An impeller is freely mounted for rotation in a socket in the bottom of the canister. The upper end of the impeller is driven by engagement between a pair of driver bosses rotated by the crank and edges of a top plate on the canister. Thus, when the cover is removed, the impeller may remain unmoved or be lifted from the socket for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 4429624
Abstract: This arrangement provides the stirring of the contents of a container. The motive force for the stirring action is supplied by connection of the stirring means to a selected pulley shaft of a pulley arrangement on which an alloy belt of nickel and titanium is placed so that the belt can be cycled through a region of temperature greater than the crystalline phase change temperature of the alloy causing the alloy to attempt to attain its original shape which for a predetermined shape will create a torque on the pulley arrangement and cause the heated portion of the belt to enter a region of temperature less than the crystalline phase change temperature of the alloy where the alloy can be stretched before reentering the region of temperature greater than the crystalline phase change temperature of the alloy.

  • Patent number: 4189241
Abstract: An ice-cream making machine for household use is described comprising a box-like bracket fixed to a motor and two containers for the mixture to be whisked. The two containers are closed by corresponding removable covers and the bracket pivotally supports gear wheels driven by the motor through drive gears also supported by the bracket and engageable with stirring vane carrying spindles supported by the covers. The spindles are in turn effective to engage with and disengage from the gear wheels as the covers are latched to and released from the containers.
