  • Patent number: 9609975
Abstract: A cooking device and method heats a removable vessel with heaters of a cooking capsule, which includes a separator wall between the heaters and vessel. The heaters mount to the separator wall. The capsule is fixed in a housing, which also mounts a motor that rotates the vessel. The housing tiltably mounts on a base. Accessories can be fixed to the vessel or a lid secured to the housing, so the accessories can rotate with the vessel or remain stationary with respect to the vessel as it rotates. A locking mechanism that secures the lid to the housing prevents lid detachment when the vessel counter-rotates and an accessory is fixed to the lid. A heat sink wall reflects heat toward the vessel and fins draw heat from the heat sink wall away from the housing and out vent holes. Computer hardware and software control power to the motor and heaters.

  • Patent number: 8621985
Abstract: A device for frothing milk with a base element including a container for receiving milk to be frothed and a removable lid including a motor for driving a circular annular spring for frothing milk, the latter being driven by a motor in the lid. To this end, electrical energy needs to be transferred to the motor. This is done using inductive coupling. This removes the need for providing bare electrical contacts thus removing disadvantages like risk of short circuit and electrical shock hazards. To achieve this, both the base element and the lid are fitted with windings for transferring electrical energy. To improve the effectiveness of inductive coupling, frequency conversion means are provided to supplying an alternating current at a relatively high frequency to the first winding. The first winding is used as an inductive element for an oscillator as well.

  • Patent number: 6032571
Abstract: An automated home beer brewing machine and method makes beer in a single vessel under automatic control. The machine and method allows making of wort for beer without requiring apparatus to be sanitized, without boiling the wort, without the use of a traditional water-filled fermentation lock, and without using a wort chiller or ice-packing of a brewing pot. The inventive single-vessel automated brewing operation allows the user to load ingredients, conduct a grain-steeping if desired, and then automatically carries out the rest of the brewing process in a single vessel, until summoning the user days later to sugar-prime and bottle the beer. Thus, the user is required to provide much less time and labor than conventional home beer brewing, and the invention also frees the home-hobby brewer of much of the current art traditionally attached to home brewing.
