Abstract: The plant comprises a single reactor divided into adjacent cells which communicate together with a limited passage opening. An inlet for a primary starch fraction and an inlet for a starch-reducing product open into one end-cell, an outlet for the glue connects to the other end-cell and an inlet for a secondary starch fraction opens into an intermediate cell. In this intermediate cell a baffle-plate is mounted. A stirrer is mounted in the reactor and comprises in each cell a stirring disc extending eccentrically relative to the geometrical reactor axis.

Abstract: An apparatus for treating materials containing cocoa butter with regard to air entrained therein in which rotating blades beat and distribute the air bubbles in the material into smaller sizes and evenly dispersed arrangement.
Abstract: A plasticating apparatus operates continuously to plasticate material which is delivered intermittently to a molding device, the plasticating apparatus including a first screw conveyor which rotates in a barrel, a backfeed passage within the first screw conveyor and a second screw conveyor in the backfeed passage arranged to recirculate material in a circuit extending back through the backfeed passage. The first screw conveyor reciprocates axially so that during periods of non-delivery of plasticated material, the capacity of the circuit is increased to accommodate the accumulation of added plasticated material generated by the continuous rotation of the first screw conveyor.
Abstract: To continuously mix two flowable products such as a solid product in the divided state and a liquid product, two concentric ducts are provided each with associated entraining means. The entraining means of the outer duct serves to move a first one of the flowable products along the duct from an entry port towards an exit port for the mixed products and includes a helical element urging the first product into rotation in passage along the outer duct. The second duct opens into the outer duct between the entry and exit ports of that duct and the entraining means of the inner duct serves to move the second flowable product through the inner duct and into the outer duct in the center of the first product stream.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for processing solid and viscous plastic material or polymeric material and the like in which plastic or polymeric material is fed through an inlet into an enclosed passage of which opposed side walls are moving simultaneously toward an outlet and the material is processed and dragged forward by the moving side wall against a channel block and with progressive build up of pressure along said passage for discharging the processed material through the outlet from the enclosed passage. Rotary apparatus for practicing the method includes one or more annular channels having opposed side walls and carried by a drive rotor member for movement relative to a housing of which an annular surface coaxial with the rotor cooperates with the walls of the channel or channels to form an enclosed annular passage or enclosed annular passages.
Abstract: Process for homogenizing a mass of substance whereby a fine dispersion of the substances in the mass is effected by moving a vibrating blade through the mass in such a manner that the vibrational energy of the blade is obtained by its speed of movement.
Abstract: A universal agitator for use with a paint spray can and gun is fluid operated off the same fluid source used to power the spray gun. The agitator comprises a vaned paddle wheel which is mounted on a shaft and which is disposed in the paint can. The shaft has a splined portion which is sealed in a housing. The fluid source rotates the shaft to likewise rotate the paddle wheel to maintain the paint in an agitated state.
Abstract: A sanitary pipeline mixer with a rotor and a stator disposed along a common axis within a turbine housing having an internal mixing chamber that communicates with an inlet port and a discharge duct. An inlet duct is removably connected to the turbine housing at the inlet port by means of a swing clamp for quick disassembly. The rotor is threaded to a shaft which extends through the mixing chamber, through a seal housing and is journaled in a bearing housing, the shaft being coupled to a motor shaft. A double flushed mechanical seal is provided about the rotor shaft at the interface of the turbine and seal housings. The turbine housing is removably mounted to the seal housing by means of a swing clamp for quick disassembly, the mechanical seal being exposed when the housings are disassembled.
