Abstract: A QoS control method and related devices are provided. In a QoS control method, for the service for which the reflective applies, a PCF adds a reflective indication in a PCC rule. If the reflective QoS is based on a control plane, a SMF aggregates services for which the reflective QoS applies and does not apply in different data flows, and a UE may determine the service for which the reflective QoS applies based on QFI. If the reflective QoS is based on a user plane, a SMF aggregates services having a same QoS requirement in a same data flow, and configures a reflective indication to the service for which the reflective QoS applies, and the UE may apply the reflective QoS based on the reflective indication in the data packet.

  • Patent number: 8693607
Abstract: The present invention discloses a digital self-timed timer for measuring the passage of time; a digital self-timed pulse generator for generating both continuous and finite pulse sequences; and a digital self-timed data receiver for recovering data from an asynchronous, two-wire bit-channel. Being self-timed, a disclosed self-timed timer measures time as a function of logic delays incurred while executing a sequence of internal state transitions. A pulse generator supports both a triggered pulse mode and continuous clock generation; pulse widths and pulse intervals are programmable. A data receiver may recover a data bit from each received two-bit code word and outputs recovered data and an associated write strobe for each recovered datum.

Abstract: Apparatus and method are provided for distributing service domain reachability information across domain boundaries, thereby allowing domain management systems to determine routing for cross-domain services even when the domains have different technologies or administrators. A Service Domain Manager within each domain advertises to neighbouring domains which services it supports. A domain which receives such advertisements forwards the advertisement on to other domains. Each SDM builds a routing information table which specifies the service, the domain, the next hop, and optionally user defined metrics. The routing information table does not include end-point addresses, in order to keep the size of the table manageable. In this way, the NMS of each domain obtains an end-to-end view of service routes.

  • Patent number: 8514459
Abstract: A communication device transmits voice and facsimile signals in the same channel between a terminal device and a packet network. The communication device has an echo canceler and a jitter buffer. The jitter buffer has a delay recovery control function that selectively deletes data from the jitter buffer to recover from packet delays. After detecting a facsimile tone, the communication device waits to detect a certain interval of silence, then deactivates its echo canceler and delay recovery control function and switches into facsimile communication mode. If a certain interval of silence is detected during the facsimile transmission, the communication device reactivates its echo canceler and delay recovery control function and continues communicating in voice mode if the line is left connected.

  • Patent number: 7411984
Abstract: Telephone tones such as dialing tones and busy or engaged tones differ in different countries and in traditional telephone networks it has been possible to deal with this because national telephone networks have been used. However, with the advent of next generation communications networks in which telephone services are transmitted over a packet network, a need has arisen to manage telephone tones in a more sophisticated manner. To address this, a tone service provides telephone tone information to tone recipients such as media gateways, session initiation protocol (SIP) phones and virtual media gateways. In the event that a new tone recipient is added to the packet network, the tone service is able to automatically provide appropriate telephone tone information to that new tone recipient. Similarly, if telephone tones need to be upgraded or rolled back, the tone service is able to automatically provide appropriate telephone tone information to each of the tone recipients.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and system relate to detecting an interfering device in a wireless network such as a wireless local area network (WLAN). In wireless networks using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and adaptive bit loading (ABL), adaptive modulation information should be somewhat symmetric in uplink and downlink directions. By comparing modulation adaptations in the uplink and downlink directions of a communication channel between at least two terminals, identified differences can indicate the presence of a potential interferer in the wireless network. A location of the potential interferer can be estimated if a location of one or more network terminals experiencing interference is known or can be determined. An exemplary implementation for a device of the invention may be as an Access Point (AP) in the WLAN.
