Abstract: A wireless repeater employing echo cancellation uses a non-linear element in digital baseband to compress the digital transmit signal waveform, thereby allowing distortions in the transmitter circuit as well as interference to be cancelled. In one embodiment, the repeater applies non-linear baseband compression to the digital transmit signal in the digital domain to reduce the peak-to-average amplitude of the digital transmit signal prior to digital-to-analog conversion and prior to over-the-air transmission and prior to sampling of the digital transmit signal for use as the reference signal for echo cancellation. Abstract: A reception-process manager of a call server writes, in a transfer-voice-data storage, voice data contained in a voice packet received from the transmitter terminal which has acquired the talk right. The transmission-process manager reads out the voice data in a size dependent on the determined transmission interval from the transfer-voice-data storage, generates voice packet containing the voice data for the each receiver terminal, and transmits the voice packet to the each receiver terminal. Abstract: The present invention relates to a cellular communication and addresses the problem of an LTE UE measuring downlink quality when the load in cell varies instantaneously and over a wide frequency spectrum. The UE lacks capacity to measure over frequency bandwidth and time needed to make a cell load measure with sufficient reliability for making a inter-cell handover or an inter RAT handover. The solution is the DL power transmitted in a narrow band of the carrier frequency is adjusted to reflect the total cell load. The total cell load is measured and averaged over time and made proportional to the frequency carrier bandwidth. The power may be controlled for specific time slots in the narrow frequency band for the terminal to measure on. This is advantageous because then the waste power needed for enabling the UE measured can be reduced and the extra interference caused by the invention be reduced.

Abstract: A method of power management for a mobile station in a multi-carrier wireless network is provided. A primary connection between the mobile station and a serving base station is first established by performing initial ranging over a primary radio frequency (RF) carrier. A secondary connection between the mobile station and the base station is then established by performing periodic ranging over a secondary RF carrier. To achieve efficient power management, the mobile station performs Open Loop Power Control and obtains long-term link measurement (CSI) of the primary carrier. The mobile station then adjusts carrier-specific parameters based on the primary carrier CSI. For RF carriers that convey on-going data traffic, Close Loop Power Control is updated per RF carrier. When the mobile station enters sleep mode operation, it receives traffic indication messages on the primary RF carrier and then dynamically wakes up one or more corresponding RF carriers for data reception.

Abstract: Provided is a multi-cell communication system using a rate-splitting scheme and a transmission frame for the multi-cell communication system. The multi-cell communication system may determine whether to perform a rate-splitting based on channel information of a macro base station and a femto base station in a multi-cell environment. The multi-cell communication system may allocate a power or a bandwidth to a message to be transmitted based on the channel information. In the multi-cell environment, a terminal may receive MAP information from a base station and may decode the received MAP information, determining a base station that performs the rate-splitting.

Abstract: A wireless repeater has a receiving antenna for receiving an input signal and a transmitting antenna for transmitting an amplified signal where the input signal is a sum of a remote signal and a feedback signal. The repeater includes an echo canceller receiving the input signal and generating an echo cancelled signal by estimating a feedback channel between the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna and cancelling a feedback signal estimate from the input signal, an amplifier for amplifying the echo cancelled signal and providing the amplified signal to the transmitting antenna, and a variable delay element receiving the echo cancelled signal and introducing a first delay to the echo cancelled signal. The first delay is selected to optimize the estimation of the feedback channel, thereby optimizing the cancellation of the feedback signal. The delayed echo cancelled signal is coupled to the echo canceller as a reference signal for estimating the feedback channel.

Abstract: Apparatuses and methodologies are described that increase system capacity in a multi-access wireless communication system. Spatial dimensions may be utilized to distinguish between multiple signals utilizing the same channel and thereby increase system capacity. Signals may be separated by applying beamforming weights based upon the spatial signature of the user device-base station pair. Grouping spatially orthogonal or disparate user devices on the same channel facilitates separation of signals and maximization of user device throughput performance. User devices may be reassigned to groups periodically or based upon changes in the spatial relationships between the user devices and the base station.

Abstract: Aspects of a method and system for channel estimation for interference suppression are provided. In this regard, one or more circuits and/or processors of a mobile communication device may generate and/or receive a first set of channel estimates and a second set of channel estimates. The one or more circuits and/or processors may modify the second set of channel estimates based on a comparison of a measure of correlation between the first set of channel estimates and the second set of channel estimates with a threshold. The first set of channel estimates and/or the modified second set of channel estimates may be utilized for cancelling interference in received signals. The first set of channel estimates may be associated with a first transmit antenna of a base transceiver station and the second set of channel estimates may be associated with a second transmit antenna of the base transceiver station.
