Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to transmitting prioritized path data to a device based on a set of topology rules and metrics associated with a storage target. A storage target path discovery request is received from the device. In response to the storage target path discovery request, metrics associated with the storage target are collected. Based on the collected metrics, available paths to the storage target are identified. A set of topology rules are then determined. Based on the topology rules and the collected metrics, a subset of available paths are selected. The subset of available paths are then prioritized into prioritized path data. The prioritized path data is then stored and transmitted to the device.

  • Patent number: 10972390
Abstract: A system and method are provided for performing transmission control protocol segmentation on a server on a chip using coprocessors on the server chip. A system processor manages the TCP/IP stack and prepares a large (64 KB) single chunk of data to be sent out via a network interface on the server on a chip. The system software processes this and calls the interface device driver to send the packet out. The device driver, instead of sending the packet out directly on the interface, calls a coprocessor interface and delivers some metadata about the chunk of data to the interface. The coprocessor segments the chunk of data into a maximum transmission unit size associated with the network interface and increments a sequential number field in the header information of each packet before sending the segments to the network interface.

Abstract: Techniques for connecting networks to facilitate distribution of data are described. For example, to distribute multicast data to members of a multicast group that span multiple networks, the techniques may identify a path between networks that each have a member of the multicast group, such as a shortest path between networks. The techniques may inform the networks on the path to establish a connection with an adjacent network. This may allow multicast data for a multicast group to be distributed to members of the multicast group that are located in separate networks.

The subnet management attribute can be configured with the signature bit string starting where the offset bits indicate, and the subnet management attribute can be included as an attribute of the InfiniBand compatible network device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention may relate to a method for routing protocol area abstraction. The method may include electing an area leader from among network devices; generating, by the area leader, an area representation node identifier associated with the first area; distributing, by the area leader, the area representation node identifier to area edge devices; receiving, from the area edge devices, second area link state packets (LSPs); generating, by the area leader and using the second area LSPs, an area representation node LSP that includes the area representation node identifier and area neighbor adjacencies; and distributing, by the area leader, the area representation node LSP to a plurality of network devices in a second area of the network. In response to receiving a copy of the area representation node LSP, each of the network devices in the second area may advertise an adjacency to an area representation node.

  • Patent number: 10849179
Abstract: A device includes a memory, a transceiver, and a processor. The processor receives a request (including a first identifier assigned to a first mobile device) from the first mobile device. In response, the processor determines that a server connection is unavailable, adds a second identifier to the request, and broadcasts the request. The processor then receives a first path (including the first and second identifiers along with a third identifier assigned to a second mobile device) from the second mobile device and sends it to the first mobile device. The processor then receives a first piece of data and a second path (including the first and second identifiers along with a fourth identifier assigned to a third mobile device) from the first mobile device. In response, the processor identifies the third mobile device and sends the first piece of data and the second path to the third mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10846260
Abstract: Providing reconfigurable fusion of processing elements (PEs) in vector-processor-based devices is disclosed. In this regard, a vector-processor-based device provides a vector processor including a plurality of PEs and a decode/control circuit. The decode/control circuit receives an instruction block containing a vectorizable loop comprising a loop body. The decode/control circuit determines how many PEs of the plurality of PEs are required to execute the loop body, and reconfigures the plurality of PEs into one or more fused PEs, each including the determined number of PEs required to execute the loop body. The plurality of PEs, reconfigured into one or more fused PEs, then executes one or more loop iterations of the loop body. Some aspects further include a PE communications link interconnecting the plurality of PEs, to enable communications between PEs of a fused PE and communications of inter-iteration data dependencies between PEs without requiring vector register file access operations.

  • Patent number: 10834666
Abstract: According to the present disclosure, a wireless communication device wirelessly communicates with mesh portals in conformity with the IEEE 802.11s standard. The wireless communication device includes a MAC address receiving section, a MAC address recording section, an IP address inquiring section, and an IP address recording section. The MAC address receiving section receives the MAC addresses of the mesh portals from the mesh portals. The MAC address recording section records the received MAC addresses in correspondence to metrics between the mesh portals and the wireless communication device. The IP address inquiring section preferentially requests an IP address from one of the mesh portals having a MAC address corresponding to a smaller one of the metrics based on contents recorded by the MAC address recording section. The IP address recording section records the IP address transmitted from the mesh portal as a result of the request.
