  • Patent number: 11736611
Abstract: A method and apparatus for visual engagement using automatically dynamically selected visualization mediums is described that will allow visual engagement via visual engagement sessions between customers and agents regardless of the type of application in use at the customer. Calls between customers and agents are implemented using the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) or Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and visual engagement sessions are added to the calls, which enables visual engagement to occur without requiring modification of the manner in which calls are handled (routed) and bridged at the call center. In some embodiments, to enable an agent to see an output of an application client in use by a customer, a visualization system automatically selects one or more types of visualization technology for a visualization session with the customer based on the type of application client in use at the customer.

  • Patent number: 11682019
Abstract: This document presents multi-layered, self-calibrating analytics for detecting fraud in transaction data without substantial historical data. One or more variables from a set of variables are provided to each of a plurality of self-calibrating models that are implemented by one or more data processors, each of the one or more variables being generated from real-time production data related to the transaction data. The one or more variables are processed according to each of the plurality of self-calibrating models implemented by the one or more data processors to produce a self-calibrating model output for each of the plurality of self-calibrating models. The self-calibrating model output from each of the plurality of self-calibrating models is combined in an output model implemented by one or more data processors. Finally, a fraud score output for the real-time production data is generated from the self-calibrating model output.

  • Patent number: 10051135
Abstract: Information associated with a communication is gathered at a switching point during the routing process to determine subscriber metric information associated with an active service identifier. The information relates to the originator of the communication and the target. The information is compared to a provider database to determine a carrier originally associated with the active service identifier. The information is then compared to a porting database to determine if the active service identifier was ported, and if so, to which carrier the active service identifier was ported. A determination can then be made regarding which carrier is associated with the active service identifier. The data may be aggregated for a large amount of switched communications, representing a large amount of active service identifiers for a given market. Thus, a number of subscribers for a given carrier in a given market may be determined.

  • Patent number: 9866683
Abstract: There is a growing problem in correctional facility telecommunications systems in which parties on a voice call may connect inmate callers with restricted parties. Prison communication systems monitor calls to prevent such activity, but in Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) environments such systems may fail to detect this activity. The present disclosure provides details of a system and method for using SIP messages common in VoIP environments to detect illicit activity initiated by a party on a voice call within a controlled environment. Scenarios are detected in which a called party connects an inmate caller to a restricted party via three-way call conferencing, call forwarding, or other call features. Corrective actions are then taken when such activity is detected, such as call blocking or alerting officials illicit activity is occurring.

  • Patent number: 9832313
Abstract: Systems and techniques are disclosed for establishing inbound calls and outbound calls involving inmates and outside parties. One exemplary technique receives input identifying authorized sources who are authorized to initiate and conduct calls with an inmate and stores a list of the authorized sources. The list, for example, can include telephone numbers, VOIP caller identifiers, and/or call privileges associated with the sources. The technique receives an inbound call directed to the inmate and determines whether the source of the inbound call is authorized or not, for example, by comparing information about the source with information in the list of authorized sources and/or based on the call privileges. If the source is authorized, the call is permitted. If not the technique routes the call to a payment interface for the caller to provide payment information.
